The main purpose of this study is to suggest fundamental materials and a guideline for design through grouping of the users' use route patterns and analyzing determinants to choose those route patterns in urban parks. Study sites were Jungang, Dlseong, and Beomeo park, where located Taegu city-Key results obtained through a series of investigation were as follows : When Users come in and out urban parks, most orientations of their use routes were counterclockwise, and not in such cases, greatly affected by facilities arrangement. There were a large number of users in the main route placed the principal facilities. Users' use route patterns were grouped by their characteristics, which were circulation, semi-circulation, irregular, and piston type. And all the types except piston type can be subdivided into spoon and loope type. Factors analysis to the types produced five meaningful patterns of variables. Five factors were named as dimension of characteristics : Park composition factor, facilities use factor, users' personal factor, park use behavioral factor, routes choice factor.
This study aims to provide basic data for planning the supply and demand of urban parks and setting up facilities in urban parks that reflect the use patterns of visitors. The study was conducted by surveying the total number of urban park users and the number of users for different time zones and analyzing their use patterns through on-site surveys at 17 urban parks located in seven cities/counties in Gyeonggi province. The result showed that as for distribution of urban park users by time zone, the number of users was highest in the afternoon. Between 7 and 9 o'clock in the morning in weekdays, many users came to urban parks for their morning exercises. There was hardly no difference between male and female. When the number of users of 17 urban parks was surveyed, a park was used by 734 people per day on weekdays in average. When the total number of users per year was estimated, a resident nearby a park visited the place 4.7 times a year in average. In addition, the analysis showed that the number of users of man-made parks was twice as high as that of natural parks. The number of users did not vary depending on the size of a park. As for use patterns by time zone, no difference was found in activity types between parks larger than 100,000 $m^2$ and those less than 100,000 $m^2$. Usually, in the morning, users came for exercises In the afternoon, users visited the parks for more diverse purposes. In the evening, they tended to visit parks to work out and wrap up a day. Going forward, the outcome of this study should be utilized as important data for analyzing the demand and supply of urban parks. In addition, the number of users by time zone and their use patterns should be fully considered when introducing facilities in parks.

Identification of energy use patterns in buildings has a great opportunity for energy saving. To find what energy use patterns exist, clustering analysis has been commonly used such as K-means and hierarchical clustering method. In case of high dimensional data such as energy use time-series, data reduction should be considered to avoid the curse of dimensionality. Principle Component Analysis, Autocorrelation Function, Discrete Fourier Transform and Discrete Wavelet Transform have been widely used to map the original data into the lower dimensional spaces. However, there still remains an ongoing issue since the performance of clustering analysis is dependent on data type, purpose and application. Therefore, we need to understand which data reduction techniques are suitable for energy use management. This research aims find the best clustering method using energy use data obtained from Seoul National University campus. The results of this research show that most experiments with data reduction techniques have a better performance. Also, the results obtained helps facility managers optimally control energy systems such as HVAC to reduce energy use in buildings.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the smartphone use patterns of smartphone-dependent children. Methods: The study design was a cross-sectional descriptive study. The data were derived from the 2017 survey on smartphone over-dependence conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency. The study sample was 595 elementary school students identified as being smartphone-dependent. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, the independent t-test, the x2 test, the Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The frequency of smartphone use was the factor strongly associated with more severe smartphone dependence in participants. Games were the most commonly used application type among participants, regardless of their degree of dependence. More severe smartphone dependence was associated with greater use of applications such as learning and television/video. Conclusion: As smartphone dependence becomes more severe, children tend to use their smartphones more frequently and to use applications that involve solitary play for the purposes of entertainment and pleasure. The findings suggest that the parents should attentively monitor their children's smartphone use patterns and provide consistent discipline in a way that ensures appropriate smartphone use.
This study attempts to examine the regional distribution and the locational pattern of leisure facilities at Kangnam-gu in Seoul. For the convenience of the analysis the facilities are classified into public and private sector and then the facilities are classified into 11 types: mineral spring resort, play ground, neighborhood park, swimming pool, gymnasium, bowling, pingpong, aerobic, golf practice, health, and billiard facilities. For the purpose data was collected from statistical yearbook in 1993 and lists of registered facility at department of living physics of Kangnam-gu office. The data of the density of facilities and the opportunity of facilities per facilities type and per region are analysed with the technology of GIS. Results may be summarized as follows. First of all, correlation between the results of Location-Allocation model and the results of Interaction model is very high. Secondly, on comparing the density of facilities with the opportunity of the facility use per eleven facility types, three discrete spatial pattems are found. The mineral spring resort facility type with the highest unbalanced density and opportunity of facility use is to be found. Play ground, neighborhood park, swimming pool, gymnasium, bowling, pingpong, and aerobic facility types have the high unbalanced density and opportunity of facility use. The golf practice, health, and billiard facility types have spatially balanced density and opportunity of facility use. Thirdly, as comparing the density and the opportunity of the facility use per 'dong' administration unit, the spatial patterns of the public and the private facilities are different in density of the facility use and otherwise two are similar in the opportunity of the facility use. Fourthly, patterns of facilities users have different charateristics based on facility use time, expense, residence, and access time and four regional patterns are to be found ; user favorable, facility profitable, user balanced, and unfavorable.
A bathroom in house has been stressed not only as a space for physiology and hygiene but also leisure and healthcare. However, the bathroom is the most likely space where an elderly person can have an accident and it is uncomfortable space for them because of their deteriorating physical ability. So the purpose of this study is to help the elderly use their bathroom conveniently by providing smart service. Therefore, we carry out 18 smart service patterns that contain assistive devices and sensors for bathroom. Considering applicability and frequency, from among these service patterns, we suggest 4 service patterns. First is a fall prevention service. This service helps elderly use the bathroom safely at night. Second is a getting ready to go out service. This service helps the situation that elderly use the bathroom after getting up in the morning. Third is a security service in daily life especially before or after meals. And final is a service regarding personal hygiene service after returning home. This service helps to shower or bathe after return home. These services have positive influence in medical expense reductions, good health care and self-reliance of elderly.
This study examines group process patterns when Instant Messaging is used for decision-making, and examines how these patterns are associated with creative solutions to problems. Our research suggests that certain communication behavior of a group, when appropriately organized, can enhance creative production of outcomes. A qualitative analysis is conducted on communication patterns based on text-based conversation protocols. Specifically, this research tries to extend existing studies on group-work by focusing on the interactive communication process among participants. Study results include that the production of creative outcome depends on the temporal sequence of discussion pattern among group members. (1) Appropriate control of the discussion process is essential to obtain a high level of performance. (2) It is also important to set up discussion rules and rules for the use of communication medium in the early stages of the discussion . (3) Active participants use various protocol types while less-active members rely mainly on 'cognitive' protocols.
A comparison of students' media environments and media use patterns among Korean-Chinese in Yanji and Shenyang, Chinese students in Yanji and Korean students in Ulsan revealed significant differences. The research surveyed 3,241 students between 10-18 years old on their home media environments, media use patterns and social characteristics including achievement motivation and the locus of control. Korean children not only have more media in their homes, but they are also heavier users of computers and other media than the other two groups. Despite the lower rates of access to computers and other media at home, Korean-Chinese in Yanji reported more use of media including TV, VCRs and computers at the computer rooms than Chinese students in Yanji. Additional analyses revealed negative correlations between computer gaming at home and at computer rooms and achievement, internal locus of control and psychological and physical home environments. Impacts of Korea culture and societal changes on the Korean-Chinese use of media, and choice of media language were discussed.
The purpose of this study is to look at the use of heuristics when a sixth grader solves a problem. Two research questions have been formulated: The similarities and differences in the use of heuristics when a student solves two problems that are science-knowledge-based and not science-knowledge-based, and the different types of prompts. A male sixth grade student participated in this study. All of the information for the study was collected in three interviews. The interviews began with observing the student's solving problems. The student was asked how and why he solved problem that way. There were some interactions between the researcher and the student during the interview procedures. As results of this study, eight general heuristics were used in both solutions: Check examples for support of an idea: check examples for exceptions to an idea: restate the problem: compare to known examples or patterns: make a hypothesis; check the relevance of other information present; use analogy: and recognize patterns/similarity. There seemed to be more similarities than differences in the type of general heuristic that were used in the two problem solutions. The student was systematic and consistent in his use of the general use of heuristics. Five types of interviewer prompts were detected in the two problem solutions, directional cues, modeling, clarity, problem posing, metacognition and validation.
This study was aim to compare the phonological error patterns and PCC(Percentage of Correct Consonants) derived from the single word and spontaneous speech contexts of the speech sound disorders with unknown origin(SSD). The present study suggest that the development phonological error patterns and non-developmental error patterns of the target children, in according to speech context. The subjects were 15 children with SSD up to the age of 5 from 3 years of age. This research use 37 words of APAC(Assessment of Phonology & Articulation for Children) in the single word context and 100 eojeol in the spontaneous speech context. There was no difference of PCC between the single word and the spontaneous speech contexts. Significantly different developmental phonological error patterns between the single word and the spontaneous speech contexts were syllable deletion, word-medial onset deletion, liquid deletion, gliding, affrication, fricative other error, tensing, regressive assimilation. Significantly different non-developmental phonological error patterns were backing, addtion of phoneme, aspirating. The study showed that there was no difference of PCC between elicited single word and spontaneous conversational context. And there were some different phonological error patterns derived from the two contexts of the speech sound disorders. The more important interventions target is the error patterns of the spontaneous speech contexts for the immediate generalization and rising overall intelligibility.
