A New Required Reserve Capacity Determining Scheme with Regard to Real time Load Imbalance

  • Determination of the required reserve capacity has an important function in operation of power system and it is calculated based on the largest loss of supply. However, conventional method cannot be applied in future power system, because potential grid-connected distributed generator and abnormal temperature cause the large load imbalance. Therefore this paper address new framework for determining the optimal required reserve capacity taking into account the real time load imbalance. At first, we introduce the way of operating reserve resources which are the secondary, tertiary, Direct Load Control (DLC) and Load shedding reserves to make up the load imbalance. Then, the formulated problem can be solved by the Probabilistic Dynamic Programming (PDP) method. In case study, we divide two cases for comparing the cost function between the conventional method and the proposed method.

  • The tread pattern of tire is represented by a great number of design factors, such as groove breadth of circumference direction, breadth direction, rib breadth, block length, kerfs, tread breadth and tread radius, etc. It is not efficient in time and cost to analyze the rolling resistance for a great number of real tread pattern, because It requires lots of pattern forming handwork. In order to optimize tread pattern for rolling resistance, the experiment is planed and analyzed by Taguchi's robust design methods. We identified the important design factors for Rolling Resistance, determined the optimal condition and calculated prediction value which is related. Using the experiment data and the analyzed data, we developed the program which could predict Rolling Resistance. It is expected that time and cost may be reduced in designing and developing new tire tread pattern.

  • Sloshing of fuel in a liquid propellant tank is an important part of the dynamic and the stability analysis of the rocket. Baffles are installed in a propellant tank to reduce the instability due to sloshing. Multi degree of spring-mass-damper model was used to model sloshing of fuel in an axisymmetric tank. The natural frequencies and damping ratios are estimated. In order to verify the estimated natural frequencies and damping ratios, tests are performed for the real propellant tank of KSR-III with single ring baffle. Results of fuel sloshing analysis are compared with those of tests.

  • The use of Box-Jenkins technique is still very limited due to the high level of knowledge required in comprehending the technique and the cumbersome iterative procedure which requires a large amount of cost and time. This paper proposes a method of automating the univariate Box-Jekins modelling to overcome the limitations of subjective identification in iterative procedure by using Variate Difference method, D-statistic and Pattern Recognition algorithm combined with Akaike's Information Criterion. The results of the application to real data show that the average performance of automatic modelling procedure is better or not worse, at least, than those of the existing models which have been manually set up and reported in the literature.

  • This study is about development of remote controlled bollard using the BLDC motor mechatronics theory. A bollard is composed of the sensor part and the control part. The sensor part is consisted of sensors that detect the locations of a bollard. The role of the control part are adjusting motor speed and power through variable resistance. In order to confirm required performance, The speed of decent and ascent of the bollard, the time and the RPM of BLDC motor were tested according to the variable resistance and the load.

  • This paper presents both experimental and numerical investigation of the combustion characteristics of stretched premixed lift-off flames using synthetic gas($H_2$/CO) in an impinging burner. We used "Spin code" for numerical analysis. An ICCD camera was employed to measure flame location and flame thickness. The impinging surface temperature was affected by local strain rate K, equivalence ratio, and composition ratio of fuel. In spite of the difference of boundary conditions in experimental and numerical results, the tendencies of surface temperatures were agreed. From result of this work, we also found that flame location and flame thickness directly related to surface temperature are greatly affected by local strain rate K.

  • The purpose of this paper is to parameterize range-equivalence classes of all eigenmaps of flat 3-tori $T^{3}$= $R^{3}$.LAMBDA., .LAMBDA.= $c_{1}$ $e_{1}$ + $c_{2}$ $e_{2}$ + $c_{3}$ $e_{3}$, into the standard unit spheres. In this paper, we classify $A_{ 0 \lambda}$( $T^{3}$)(cf..cint.1) which is contained in $A_{\lambda}$( $T^{3}$), are belonging to $A_{ 0 \lambda}$( $T^{3}$). Moreover, as an application, we show that the only minimally imbedded flat torus into ( $S^{5}$ , can) which is contained in $A_{ 0 \lambda}$( $T^{3}$) is the generalized Clifford torus.rd torus.

  • MgO thin films were deposited by e-beam evaporator using the 2-step method for alternate current plasma display panels (AC-PDPs). Glancing angle deposition (GLAD) method was employed to produce various surface geometry of the thin film; the bottom layer was deposited on a substrate by normal e-beam evaporation method and the top layer was deposited on bottom layer with $85^{\circ}$ by GLAD method. Results show that firing and sustain voltages improved as the sharpness of surface and isolated columnar structures increases, respectively.

  • 임의의 송전선로에 대하여 어떤 발전기의 전력이 어느 정도용량으로 유입-유출되고 있다고 명확하게 말할 수 없다. 다만, KCL(Kiechhoff Current Law)를 이용하여 소규모 계통에서는 가시적으로 계산할 수 있다. 이를 대규모 실계통에 적용할 경우 또한 명확하게 제시할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 그동안 개발된 송전망 이용요금 산정과 관련된 수많은 방법을 근거로 송전선에 유입-유출되는 유효전력과 발전기의 참여 용량을 조류추적과 사용용량의 %누적을 이용하여 계산할 수 있는 방법에 대하여 논의하고자 한다.
