Correlation Coefficients between Parametric and onparametric Test Statistics for Signal Detection Problems (신호 검파 문제에 쓰는 모수와 비모수 검정 통계량 사이의 상관계수)

  • In this paper, we address the derivation of joint distributions and correlation coefficients for four pairs of statistics used commonly in a number of signal detection schemes. The upper and lower bounds of the correlation coefficients are obtained, and interesting relationships between the correlation coefficients are derived. Explicit values of the correlation coefficients are given in the form of tables and figures for easy reference. The results in this paper should be useful in comparing various detection statistics.

  • This paper proposes a new design specification-based band fault modelling technique that can test design specification in a time domain. The band fault model is defined and the conditions of band fault model are gained as normal operation regions are defined. And the conditions of band fault model are used in a 5.25GHz low noise amplifier, then 9 band fault models that can detect hard and parametric faults of active and passive devices are obtained.

  • Precast concrete manufacturing has proved economies of scale through the repetitive production by means of standardization, automation, and prefabrication. Advanced digital design and fabrication technologies can empower its benefits by enabling mass customization in the building design and construction. This study analyzed five case studies in terms of 1) design intent and background, 2) module development and facade construction, 3) integrated process among project stakeholder. This article has attempted to establish the following three points in conclusion: 1) Form generating digital design tools such as Rhino, CATIA, Generative Component, and Digital Project were implemented to produce parametric surface pattern and rationalization to maximize existing precast manufacturing benefits. Also, BIM program has been used to promote coordination and communication among engineering consultants and contractors, 2) In addition to traditional precast concrete materials, GFRC, RFP, brick cladding precast and 3D printed mould have been introduced to reduce the weight and cost and to comply the code from the zoning, seismic, and fireproof requirements, 3) Design-assist contract, design-assist financial support, and co-location measures have been introduced to facilitate collaboration between architect, fabricator, and contractor from the beginning of the project.

  • With the increased use of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) that can obtain over millions of point dataset, methodologies for efficient search and dimensionality reduction for the point cloud became a crucial technique. The existing octree-based "parametric algorithm" has proved its efficiency and contributed as a part of PCL (Point Cloud Library). However, the implementation of the algorithm on GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is considered very difficult because of structural constraints of the octree implemented in PCL. In this paper, we present a method for the parametric algorithm on GPU environment and implement a projection of the queried points on four directions with an improved noise reduction.

Analysis of Factors for Private Universities Educational Restitution Rate using Data Mining : Focusing on the Panel Fixed Effect Model and Non-parametric Regression Estimation (데이터 마이닝을 활용한 사립대학 교육비 환원요인 분석 : 패널 고정효과모형과 비모수회귀추정을 중심으로)

  • The Educational Restitution Rate is an important parameter that determines the quality of university education. This paper analyzed data from 148 private universities over the 10 years from 2009 to 2018 using data mining techniques in Korea. A significant causal relationship is detected in the fixed effect model as a result of the panel estimation. And the scale of faculty expansion and fund management, which are the university evaluation indicators, and the size of basic funds, respectively, have a positive effect on the ERR, which is within the confidence interval. In the analysis, the more private universities improve the tuition dependence rate, the more decisively positive affecting ERR. As a result of nonparametric regression estimation, when the faculty expansion ratio is reinforced, the effect of economies of scale is detected in some sections, the improvement of the tuition dependence rate, and the result value is generated through the improvement that results are derived at a certain point in time. We hope that the university based on this study can be a basic Indicators for the diagnosis of basic competencies and policy of student-centered education.

  • This study aims to establish Nammun-ro 2ga in Cheongju city in the 1960s as three-dimensional digital information data for the restoration of urban archetypes. For this purpose, referring to the existing restoration map and model of Cheongju urban area in the 1960s, and the results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the buildings that can be generally classified are prepared through the modeling of parametric families. Secondly, the untypical models(combined and broken roofs, atypical and large scale buildings) of them are simply performed through solid modeling. And then, these simplified models are simulated through a sky view, a walking sight, and information analysis. Through this study, it will be possible to visualize and regenerate the low and dense area of Cheongju city in the 1960s.

Investigation on structural behaviour of composite cold-formed steel and reinforced concrete flooring systems

  • Composite flooring systems consisting of cold-formed steel joists and reinforced concrete slabs offer an efficient, lightweight solution. However, utilisation of composite action to achieve enhanced strength and economical design has been limited. In this study, finite element modelling was utilised to create a three-dimensional model which was then validated against experimental results for a composite flooring system consisting of cold-formed steel joists, reinforced concrete slab and steel bolt shear connectors. This validated numerical model was then utilised to perform parametric studies on the performance of the structural system. The results from the parametric study demonstrate that increased thickness of the concrete slab and increased thickness of the cold formed steel beam resulted in higher moment capacity and stiffness of the composite flooring system. In addition, reducing the spacing of bolts and spacing of the cold formed steel beams both resulted in enhanced load capacity of the composite system. Increasing the concrete grade was also found to increase the moment capacity of the composite flooring system. Overall, the results show that an efficient, lightweight composite flooring system can be achieved and optimised by selecting suitable concrete slab thickness, cold formed beam thickness, bolt spacing, cold formed beam spacing and concrete grade.

  • This paper presents the asymptotic relative efficiency of the nonparametric estimator relative to the parametric maximum likelihood estimator of the reliability function under the proportional hazards model of random censorship. Also we examine the efficiency loss due to censoring proportions and misson times.

  • Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), a non-parametric productivity analysis tool, has become an accepted approach for assessing efficiency in a wide range of fields. Despite of its extensive applications and merits, some features of DEA remain bothersome. DEA offers no guideline about to which direction relatively inefficient DMUs improve since a reference set of an inefficient DMU, several efficient DMUs, hardly provides a stepwise path for improving the efficiency of the inefficient DMU.In this paper, we aim to show that DEA can be used to evaluate the efficiency of life insurance companies while overcoming its limitation with the aids of machine learning methods.
