  • The HPFRCCs show that the multiple crack propagation, high tensile strength and ductility due to the interfacial bonding of the fibers to the cement matrix. Moreover, performance of cement composites varies according to type and weight contents of reinforcing fiber. and HPFRCCs with hybrid fiber have better performance than HPFRCCs with single fiber in damage tolerance. Total four cylindrical specimens were tested, and the main variables were the type and weight contents of fiber, which was polyvinylalchol (PVA), polyethylene (PE). In order to clarify effect of hybrid types on the characteristics of fracture and damage process in cement composites, AE method was performed to detect micro-cracking in HPFRCCs under cyclic compression. Loading conditions of the uniaxial compression test were monotonic and cyclic loading. And from AE parameter value, it is found that the second and third compressive load cycles resulted in successive decrease of the amplitude as compared with the first compressive load cvcle.

  • Present study examines the detonation wave propagation characteristics in annular channel. A normalized value of channel width to the annular radius was considered as a geometric parameter. Numerical approaches used in the previous studies of detonation wave propagation were extended to the present study with OpenMP parallelization for multicore SMP machines. The major effect of the curved geometry on the detonation wave propagation seems to be a flow compression effect, regardless of the detonation regimes. The flow compression behind the detonation wave by the curved geometry of the circular channel pushes the detonation wave front and results in the overdriven detonation waves with increased detonation speed beyond the Chapmann-Jouguet speed. This effect gets stronger as the normalized radius smaller, as expected. The effect seems to be negligible beyond the normalized radius of 10.

  • One of the methods for investigation of mechanical behavior of materials is numerical simulation. For simulation, its need to model behavior is close to real condition. PFC is one of the rock mechanics software that needs calibration for models simulation. The calibration was performed based on simulation of unconfined compression test and Brazilian test. Indeed the micro parameter of models change so that the UCS and Brazilian test results in numerical simulation be close to experimental one. In this paper, the effect of four micro parameters has been investigated on the uniaxial compression test and Brazilian test. These micro parameters are friction angle, Accumulation factor, expansion coefficient and disc distance. The results show that these micro parameters affect the failure pattern in UCS and Brazilian test. Also compressive strength and tensile strength are controlled by failure pattern.

  • The damping force is determined by four valves and the components which consist of the shock absorber for vehicle. In this study it is investigated the individual effects of four valves and these components on damping forces using dynamic behaviour analysis program of the shock absorber. In addition, opening of main valves are researched during compression and tension cycle due to up- down reciprocation movement of piston. We are to strictly control the properties and tolerance of componenets having important effects on the damping force. Thus we are intended to produce shock absorber of better quality.

  • This paper tested 11 concrete-encased concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) composite columns and one reinforced concrete column under combined axial compression and lateral loads. The primary parameters, including the loading system, axial compression ratio, volume stirrup ratio, diameter-to-thickness ratio of the steel tube, and stirrup form, were varied. The influence of the parameters on the failure mode, strength, ductility, energy dissipation, strength degradation, and damage evolution of the composite columns were revealed. Moreover, a two-parameter nonlinear seismic damage model for composite columns was established, which can reflect the degree and development process of the seismic damage. In addition, the relationships among the inter-story drift ratio, damage index and seismic performance level of composite columns were established to provide a theoretical basis for seismic performance design and damage assessments.

  • The sealing performance of O-rings is affected by working conditions such as applied pressure, operation temperature, pre-compressed ratio and material properties. In this paper, a pressurized and compressed elastomeric bi-polymer O-ring in which is inserted into a rectangular groove is analyzed by non-linear MARC finite element program based on the Taguchi experimental method. O-rings with 9 different profile models are analyzed for design parameters that are related to the diameter ratio between outer diameter and inner one of bi-polymer O-ring, compressive ratio, groove angle and groove depth. The calculated FEM results showed that the affection ratio of design parameter dlD, which may control sealing pressure of O-rings, is the most influential parameter among the groove angle, groove depth and compression ratio.

  • In this work, cement paste samples with 1% (by cement mass) of a conductive carbon fiber admixture have been studied under uniaxial compression. Three different arrangements were used to measure the resistivity of the samples. According to the results obtained, the resistance should be measured using the four wire method in order to obtain good sensitivity and repeatability. The effect of the load value and the load rate on the fractional change of the volume resistivity has been determined. It has been observed that the gage factor (fractional change in resistance respect to strain) increases when the maximum load is increased, and the loading rate does not affect significantly this parameter. The effect of the sample ambient humidity on the material piezoresistivity has also been studied, showing that the response of the composite is highly affected by this parameter.

  • The Inter-Channel Level Difference (ICLD) is a cue parameter to estimate spectral information in a binaural cue coding that has been recently in the spotlight as a multichannel audio signal compression technique. Even though the ICLD is an essential parameter, it is generally distorted by quantization. In this paper, a new modified ICLE representation method to minimize the quantization distortion is proposed by adopting a flexible determination of the reference channel and the unidirectional quantization. Our experimental result confirms that the proposed method improves the multichannel audio output quality even with the reduced bit-rate.

  • In this paper, we propose an object-oriented coding method in low bit-rate channels using block-based motion vectors and residual image compensation. First, we use a 2-stage algorithm for estimating motion parameters. In the first stage, coarse motion parameters are estimated by fitting block-based motion vectors and in the second stage, the estimated motion parametes are refined by the gradient method using an image reconstructed by motion vectors detected in the first stage. Local error of a 6-parameter model is compensted by blockwise motion parameter correction using residual image. Finally, model failure (MF) region is reconstructed by a fractal mapping method. Computer simulation resutls show that the proposed method gives better performance than the conventional ones in terms of th epeak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and compression ratio (CR).

This examination materials use regression analysis as a basis, depending on the relative density of soil parameters change statement attributes. Yield fuction represent the soil parameters h and $\alpha$ is not affected by the changes in the relative density. $\eta_1$ could be replaced by fomula. And Numerical analysis results predicted very good and could confirm that.
