  • This paper introduces the modeling of grid-connected photovoltaic(PV) generation using Matiab/Simulink. The model is based on the equivalent circuit of the PV solar cell including the effects of solar irradiation and temperature changes. The PV arrays are modeled to be built up with the series/parallel combination of PV solar cell and are connected to the distribution system via an inverter. The simulation results show that the typical characteristics and outputs of the PV arrays are accurate.

  • Cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) show complex characteristics, which make it difficult to drive them in parallel. In this paper, a multi-lamp driving scheme is proposed to drive multiple lamps for LCD back light to reduce output current unbalance. This propose system is composed of parallel CCFLs, series transformers. The driving system adopts only one backlight inverter to drive multi cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL). Moreover the circuit introduces a multi-lamp driving transformer to reduce lamp-current imbalance. The validity of the proposed scheme is confirmed by the simulated and experimental results.

  • The construct of photovoltaic module array, main power source of photovoltaic system, is very important to the efficiency improvement of whole photovoltaic system. Photovoltaic modules are usually connected in series or parallel to meet power capacity required. Since output characteristics of a photovoltaic module are greatly fluctuated on the variation of insolation, temperature and its type, the maximum open circuit voltage and output operating voltage of photovoltaic module array must exist in the admissible input voltage range of inverter system under any operating conditions. In this paper, we present the selection and array method of photovoltaic modules through simulation for the coupling loss reduction between photovoltaic modules and a inverter.

  • This paper propose the advanced topology of UPQC, its DC link is connected with Lithium battery, to compensate the momentary interruptions. The proposed system can be operated as UPS mode using the parallel inverter, which control the charge or discharge of battery, in case of the interruption. We dvelop 100kVA UPQC using the proposed topology to rise the power quality and the reliability of Microgrid. We verify its usefulness through voltage compensation test, UPS operation test and etc. using Microgrid test facility.

  • In this paper, proposed circuit proposes that Active-Clamp-Circuits basis of a current-fed inverter linked type high frequency resonant dc-dc converter of conventional. and the paper the most of characteristics of the reduced high voltage stress main switches with active clamp circuits and output current constant with the resonant part consists of L, C resonant tank circuit. Also, the capacitor (C$_1$, C$_2$) connected in switches are a common using by resonance capacitor and ZVS capacitor. and circuit analysis used state equation of each part modes. Also we conform a rightfulness theoretical analysis by comparing a parameters values and simulation values obtained from simulation using Power MOS-FET as switching devices.

  • The interleaving method is usually used to reduce the ripple of output current of filter inductor in parallel operation of PWM DC/DC converter. Although the current ripple of filter inductor decreases, each current ripple of filter inductor is not decreased. In this study, the operation of interleaved buck converter with coupled inductor is analyzed in each operation mode. It is verified through experiment. The possibility of application to grid connected inverter with parallel operation is identified.

  • This paper explores the power distribution problem of parallel-connected inverter system which supplies auxiliary power for railway facilities. We propose a droop control method which facilities power distribution and restrain of voltage drop by tracking the average power control command by adjusting the virtual impedance. The performance of proposed droop method is verified by the PSIM simulation.

  • In this paper, It is indicating that an issues of the conventional boost converter for high frequency induction heating. To improve those issues, it is proposed, simulated and analyzed that the current resonant circuit, simulated. As the result, we knew that the proposed circuit has a good point to improve the waveform of input current and to make high efficiency. On the other side, in the inverter for the high current power supply, it is proposed that the high frequency inverter of the half bridge topology, be done the circuit analysis to extract the optimal circuit parameter. It is making sure of the soft switching operating by the inductor to reverse parallel connected on the inverter main switch, decreasing the surge voltage when the switch is turn-off by compulsion, and repressing the switch current and bringing the high current amplitude operation by the multi resonance.

A New Start-up Method for a Load Commutated Inverter for Large Synchronous Generator of Gas-Turbine

  • This paper proposes a new start-up method for a load commutated inverter (LCI) in a large synchronous gas-turbine generator. The initial rotor position for start-up torque is detected by the proposed initial angle detector, which consists of an integrator and a phase-locked loop. The initial rotor position is accurately detected within 150ms, and the angle difference between the real position and the detected position is less than 1%. The LCI system operates in two modes (forced commutation mode and natural commutation mode) according to operating speed range. The proposed controllers include a forced commutation controller for the low-speed range, a PI speed controller and a PI current controller, where the forced commutation controller is connected to the current controller in parallel. The current controller is modeled by Matlab/Simulink, where a six-pulse delay of the thyristor and a processing delay are considered by using a zero-order hold. The performance of the proposed start-up method is evaluated in Matlab/Psim at standstill and at low speed. To verify the feasibility of the method, a 5kVA LCI system prototype is implemented, and the proposed initial angle detector and the system performance are confirmed by experimental results from standstill to 900rpm.
