  • As the complexity of software is increasing, generating an effective test data has become a necessity. This necessity has increased the demand for techniques that can generate test data effectively. This paper proposes a test data generation technique based on adequacy based testing criteria. Adequacy based testing criteria uses the concept of mutation analysis to check the adequacy of test data. In general, mutation analysis is applied after the test data is generated. But, in this work, we propose a technique that applies mutation analysis at the time of test data generation only, rather than applying it after the test data has been generated. This saves significant amount of time (required to generate adequate test cases) as compared to the latter case as the total time in the latter case is the sum of the time to generate test data and the time to apply mutation analysis to the generated test data. We also use genetic algorithms that explore the complete domain of the program to provide near-global optimum solution. In this paper, we first define and explain the proposed technique. Then we validate the proposed technique using ten real time programs. The proposed technique is compared with path testing technique (that use reliability based testing criteria) for these ten programs. The results show that the adequacy based proposed technique is better than the reliability based path testing technique and there is a significant reduce in number of generated test cases and time taken to generate test cases.

  • This paper proposes a new test generation method. Most of the test generation methods are gate-level based, but our scheme is VHDL based, especially in other word, behavioral-level based. Our test pattern generation method uses software test method. And we generate deterministic test pattern with this method. The purpose of our method is to reduce the time and effort to generate the test patterns for the end-product test of IC.

  • In this paper we propose a nonparametric lack of fit test based on the bootstrap method for testing the null parametric linear model by using linear smoothers. Most of existing nonparametric test statistics are based on the residuals. Our test is based on the centered bootstrap residuals. Power performance of proposed bootstrap lack of fit test is investigated via Monte carlo simulation.

  • In this paper we consider the problem of testing statistical hypotheses for unknown parameters in nonlinear regression models and propose three asymptotically equivalent tests based on regression quantiles estimators, which are Wald test, Lagrange Multiplier test and Likelihood Ratio test. We also derive the asymptotic distributions of the three test statistics both under the null hypotheses and under a sequence of local alternatives and verify that the asymptotic relative efficiency of the proposed test statistics with classical test based on least squares depends on the error distributions of the regression models. We give some examples to illustrate that the test based on the regression quantiles estimators performs better than the test based on the least squares estimators of the least absolute deviation estimators when the disturbance has asymmetric and heavy-tailed distribution.

  • This paper proposes the two-sample comparison us-ing sign test based on ranked-set sample(RSS). We investigate the asymptotic properties of the proposed test statistic and compare the asymptotic relative efficiencies of the proposed test statistic with re-spect to Mann-Whitney-Wilcoxon test statistic based on RSS and Mann-Whitney-Wilcoxon test statistic based on the simple random sample(SRS).

  • In this paper, we consider the entropy-based goodness of fit test (Vasicek's test) for a composite hypothesis. The test measures the discrepancy between the nonparametric entropy estimate and the parametric entropy estimate obtained from an assumed parametric family of distributions. It is shown that the proposed test is asymptotically normal under regularity conditions, but is affected by parameter estimates. As a remedy, a bootstrap version of Vasicek's test is proposed. Simulation results are provided for illustration.

  • This paper addressed various issues related to the objectivity of student assessment in medical education. The objectivity of assessment was related to all the steps of test development, administration, and results reporting in terms of reliability and validity. Specifically, the objectivity of item formats, representativeness of test content, standardization of test administration, consistency of scoring procedures, and appropriateness of reporting test results were discussed by comparing performance assessment with traditional paper-and-pencil tests. The conclusions were derived from current measurement theories such as standards-based assessment, evidencebased design, and outcome-based assessment. Further, based on Shepard's propositions (2006), the objectivity of student assessment could be achieved by improving the concordance between educational objectives and assessment components such as item types, test contents, and test administration, scoring, and reporting.

  • Network-on-chip (NoC) is an emerging design paradigm intended to cope with future systems-on-chips (SoCs) containing numerous built-in cores. Since NoCs have some outstanding features regarding design complexity, timing, scalability, power dissipation and so on, widespread interest in this novel paradigm is likely to grow. The test strategy is a significant factor in the practicality and feasibility of NoC-based SoCs. Among the existing test issues for NoC-based SoCs, test access mechanism architecture and test scheduling particularly dominate the overall test performance. In this paper, we propose an efficient NoC-based SoC test scheduling algorithm based on a rectangle packing approach used for current SoC tests. In order to adopt the rectangle packing solution, we designed specific methods and configurations for testing NoC-based SoCs, such as test packet routing, test pattern generation, and absorption. Furthermore, we extended and improved the proposed algorithm using multiple test clocks. Experimental results using some ITC'02 benchmark circuits show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the overall test time by up to 55%, and 20% on average compared with previous works. In addition, the computation time of the algorithm is less than one second in most cases. Consequently, we expect the proposed scheduling algorithm to be a promising and competitive method for testing NoC-based SoCs.

  • Multivariate unit root tests for the VAR(p) model have been commonly used in time series analysis. Several unit root tests were developed and recently Shin(2004) suggested a cointegration test based on weighted symmetric estimator. In this paper, we suggest a multivariate unit root test statistic based on the weighted symmetric estimator. Using a small simulation study, we compare the powers of the new test statistic with the statistics suggested in Shin(2004) and Fuller(1996).
