Daehye Bogakseonsaseo (Letters of Master Bogak) in the possession of the National Museum of Korea is a Goryeo-era book produced in 1387, which was acquired in 2005 in a state of severe general damage. Subsequently, its production techniques and materials were examined using bibliographical characteristics and scientific analysis, based on which an overall conservation treatment was carried out. Janghwang(mounting) in bibliographical characteristics is a five-hole-stitch binding (五針眼線裝本), a single-lined rectangular box (四周單邊), and no column lines. The conservation treatment was examined in two aspects: the basic form and the conservation treatment process. The book is composed of the outer cover, original cover, end paper, and inner paper of 0.04-0.07mm thick, which is significantly thinner than general book paper. The conservation treatment was applied after the entire book was disassembled, based on the assessment that both the cover and the inner sheets of paper were in a dire condition due to deterioration. The conservation treatment comprised of the process of disassembly, cleaning, reinforcement of defective parts, scanning, and binding, with a paulownia box made for its storage. At the time of disassembly, samples were made for the inner sheets and the book string in order to conduct fiber identification. The fibers were identified using Safranin and C-stains. Safranin staining identified a thick fiber wall, in addition to cross-marking, dislocation, and transparent membranes. C-stain staining identified the fiber as mulberry, given the dark red residue. The book strap has a flat, circular cross-section, and was identified as cotton fiber, since a lumen was observed in the center.

'Digilog Book' integrates advantages of existing paper book and immersive digital contents in augmented reality environment, which enables users to feel physical touch and get additional multisensory feedback. As a high level authoring user interface, 'ARtalet' provides an intuitive way to make Digilog Book through 3D user interface in augmented reality environment. This paper mentions trajectory inserting and editing methods of 3D objects, then combining method of the trajectory. 3D object is selected by camera tracked prop, and then transformation matrix relative to book plane is stored in real time based on timeframe. The saved trajectory is managed as templates, and user can make various compositions of trajectories. We expect that suggested methods can enhance interest of readers.

This study focuses on an intergenerational book club with middle-aged and young people as a follow-up study on a book club with older people and young people. The book club program was designed to help people develop a reading habit and experience picture book bibliotherapy. The researcher hosted a picture book reading group between middle-aged and young participants, had individual interviews, and conducted a qualitative study to analyze research data and present implications. For middle-aged participants, the intergenerational book club was an opportunity to understand young people and their children and learn from the young people, and for young participants, it helped them understand middle-aged people and their parents and learn from the middle-aged people, allowing them to feel a sense of connection rather than a generation gap. In addition, positive effects of picture book bibliotherapy were seen while reducing stress and learning important lessons in life. The participants received help in forming a reading habit. This paper provides constructive suggestions for book clubs where different generations interact. It is hoped that through this study, intergenerational book clubs that can be used to understand other generations will be more popular and people will be able to discover the benefits of reading books including picture books and make reading a habit.

This paper proposes a new "Live Book Service" that is combined the analog contents such as paper books and digital contents with various digital multimedia elements, and this service can project the additional digital multimedia contents on the analog paper. Also, we developed a monolithic stand type system which is composed of camera and pico projector, so that it can demonstrate the proposed contents. We also devised the low computational cost algorithm in bare-hands recognition which can be used as the interface between the system and users. In addition, to recognize the bare-hands which can be used as the interface between the digital and users, we make the low cost algorithm. Therefore this can be the interaction between the system and users. As a result, our proposed system can be used as a useful tool for various e-book or u-learning fields that requires high efficiency and much immersion.

Generally, a paper book that is digitalized or a method of giving information to user in a form of paper book after digitalization is called ebook. Due to the rapid spread of internet and development of digital information technology, ebook has become an important issue globally. Not only can ebook send information efficiently but the price is low and compared to paper books it is more effective in sending information by using technologies like multimedia. However, ebook markets have problems to grow because there are different ebook formats. In this study, we will explain about the development of Electronic Book of Korea Standard(EBKS) to solve the problems. The purpose of EBKS is the exact exchange for ebook contents. To archive this purpose, we define the explict logical structure for documents and recommend metadata for doemetic enviroments and XSL-FO to provide high-quality layout. We expect that the establishment of EBKS will greatly contribute to growth of ebook markets by preventing the duplicable investment for contents and technologies.

EBKS(Electronic Book of Korea Standard) 1.0 which was established in July 2001 passed the industry standard deliberation of agency for technology and standards of Korea industry in July 2002. EBKS is now established as KS X6100 representing the Korea standard of electronic book of Korea. Therefore, Conformance test and certification procedure is required whether electronic books and documents which follow KS X 6100 are conform to specification of the standard. In the paper, we define conformance clause which is a basis for conformance test and standard electronic book schema. As a result, electronic book writers can produce more conformable documents to the specification and goal of electronic book standard by using the conformance clause, and service provider can effectively perform the conformance test by using standard electronic book schema.

In this paper, we present a technique to extract the title areas from book cover images. A typical book cover image may contain text, pictures, diagrams as well as complex and irregular background. In addition, the high variability of character features such as thickness, font, position, background and tilt of the text also makes the text extraction task more complicated. Therefore, we propose a two steps efficient method that uses Histogram of Oriented Gradients and color information to find the title areas. Firstly, text localization is carried out to find the title candidates. Finally, refinement process is performed to find the sufficient components of title areas. To obtain the best result, we also use other constraints about the size, ratio between the length and width of the title. We achieve encouraging results of extracted title regions from book cover images which prove the advantages and efficiency of the proposed method.

It devides that a comic book is based on paper and the other one is serviced through the medium of internet. Each one called conventional form of comic book and digital one; however, it is simply uploaded scan-images of comic book on monitors instead of paper. This is just only difference of output form of comics and it does not bring out digital feature. Thus the new possibility of digital comics will be searched with the core of digital contents, interactivity is applied for comic frame-manner.

In this paper, we develope a LOB(Limit Order Book) analyzing tool for an automated trading system, which features real-time and offline analysis of LOB data in conjunction with execution data. The 10-tier LOB data analyzer developed in this paper, which contains ask/bid prices and the execution data, receivs transaction requests in real-time from the Kiwoom Open API+ server. In the OnReceiveTrData event, the transaction data from the server is received and processed. The real-time data, triggered by the transaction, is received and processed in the OnReceiveRealData event. These two types of data are stored in a database and replayed in the same way as if it were a real-time situation in simulation mode. The LOB data are selectively read and analyzed in a necessary time points. The tool provides various features such as bar chart analysis and pattern analysis of the total shares on the bid side and ask side, which are used to develop a tool to accurately determine the timing of stock trading.
