판토그래프 펜헤드 형상 변화에 따른 소음저감효과 분석 (The effects of noise reduction by the change of penhead shape in pantograph)

  • Nowadays, high speed train has settled down as a fast and convenient environment-friendly transportation and it's need is gradually increasing. However increased train speed leads to increased aerodynamic noise, which causes critically affects comfortability of passengers. Especially, the pantograph of high speed train is protruded out of train body, which is the main factor for increased aerodynamic noise. In this research, to reduce aerodynamic noise pantograph, panhead's shape changed to aerodynamical shape. aerodynamic noise of pantograph is predicted by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) and FW-H (Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings) equation. Also, the sound pressure level of aerodynamic noise of base and modified models are predicted. And the reduction effects of the sound pressure level is analyzed.

  • We have been developing the pantograph for Korean High Speed Train for the last five years. To fulfil the following requirements at designed speed of 350km/h : 1) contact loss less than 1 %, 2) aerodynamic noise less than 91dB, 3) average uplift force less than 200N, the pantograph has been modified two times since the first prototype pantograph was manufactured, By means of the following up characteristic test, low speed wind tunnel test, and high speed wind tunnel test for the prototype pantographs, we found that the aerodynamic uplift force did not exceed l60N at speed up to 350km/h and the aerodynamic noise was less than 88dB, that the following up characteristics of the prototype pantograph was excellent.

  • There are three items, which are panhead displacement, tilting angle of pan head, required moment of main shaft, which representing kinematic performance of pantograph. Kinematic variables effective on kinematic performance are length of each components and installation angle, In this study, cost function is defined with 3 items, By this cost function, length of thrust rod was optimized. Finite element analysis was used to consider structural soundness. Finite element model was qualified by comparison between analysis result with experiment result. By qualified F.E, model various severe condition was simulated to consider structural soundness.

  • Wind tunnel test of a new pantograph, that is developed through the KHST project, was performed in RTRI wind tunnel test center of Japan end of last June. This paper indtroduces the measurement results and analysis of noise measurement part that is achieved during the wind tunnel test. The maximum measured sound pressure level at 5m shows 102.3dB(A) at 350km/h and it leads to 88.3dB(A) of predicted sound pressure at 25m that satisfy 91dB(A) of evaluation criteria. Major noise sources of the pantograph was identified as a link between upper and lower arm, panhead contact strips and shunt wires.

  • Electric power collection is one of the most important factors for the high-speed trains' operation. For the stable current collection, the contact wire of a catenary and the panhead of a pantograph should maintain a constant contact each other. In this paper, the catenary was modeled as a spring with time-varying stiffness from the point of a pantograph moving along the catenary, and the pantograph was modeled as a 3-D.O.F. mass-spring-damper system. Using the adaptive control method, the desired control performance could be obtained with the modeling errors and the time varying parameters.   • In this study, wind tunnel test were conducted to improve an aerodynamic performance of HEMU400X pantograph system with 4 types of pantograph housing models. Experimental models were 1/4 scaled pantograph system, 1/4 scaled ground plate which is scaled down to real roof shape of HEMU-400x, and 4 types of pantograph housing models. The free stream of wind tunnel were 20, 40, 60, 70m/s. The lift and drag forces were measured with 2-axis load cell. And, Total pressure were measured with rake in the wake region of panhead. In addition, Surface flow visualization by tufts were performed to know flow characteristics around pantograph housing. According to the results of force tests and surface visualizations, pantograph housing shape is important part because the shape affects to pantograph system. Therefore, it is considered that adaption of pantograph housing is more advantageous to decrease drag and acoustic noise.

Especially, the pantograph of high speed train is protruded out of train body, which is the main factor for increased aerodynamic noise. Since aerodynamic noise caused pantograph should be measured in high speed, it is difficult to measure it and to analysis aerodynamic noise characteristics due to the various types of pantograph. In this research, aerodynamic noise of pantograph is predicted by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) and FW-H (Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings) equation. Also, Wind tunnel test results and numerical simulation results were compared. As a result, Simulation results predicting sound pressure level is very similar with wind tunnel test result. To analyze contribution of the pantograph to the noise of high-speed train, simulation results compared with measurement results of exterior noise. The simulation reuslts found that pantograph is a dominant noise source of high-speed trains's exterior noise in low frequency section. This dominant noise was come out from vortex shedding of the panhead in the pantograph. This research will be utilized for reduce sound pressure level of pantograph.

실차실험에 의한 집전계의 접촉 동특성 규명 (A Verification of the Contact Dynamics of the Current Collection System on a Test Run)

  • The contact characteristics of the current collection system are investigated by analyzing data collected during a test run of the Korean high speed rail vehicle. For the analysis, the signals from accelerometers and load cells attached to the various parts of the pantograph are analyzed in both the time and frequency domains. In the frequency domain, the pantograph response consists of low frequency components related to the rigid-body motion of the panhead assembly and high frequency components due to the structural vibration modes of the pantograph. The analysis shows that the inclusion of the high frequency structural vibration modes of the pantograph in the contact force calculation has a negligible effect on the predicted mean value of the contact force but significantly affects the magnitude of its fluctuations. This finding implies that numerical simulations using lumped element models of the pantograph may accurately predict the mean contact force but is limited in its capacity for predicting the fluctuation about the mean. Since the ratio of the fluctuation to the mean in the contact force increases with increased train speed, the limitation of the predictions based on numerical simulation results becomes more pronounced at higher train speed.

  • 최근 세계 각국의 고속열차들은 속도 향상 측면에서 비약적인 발전을 보이고 있으며, 국내에서도 2007년부터 '차세대 고속철도 기술개발 사업'을 통해 최고속도 400km/h급의 고속열차 개발을 진행 중에 있다. 고속열차의 주행속도가 증가함에 따라 이전에는 제기되지 않았던 공기저항, 공력소음 문제, 열차의 교행 및 측풍에 의해 발생하는 압력변동, 터널출구에서 발생하는 미기압파 등의 문제들이 대두되고 있으며 이와 같은 문제들은 열차의 고속화를 제약하는 요인이 된다. 특히, 고속열차의 전두부 형상은 이러한 공기역학적 문제들과 밀접하게 연결되어 있으며, 팬터그래프의 소음 및 안정적인 집전 성능 확보 등도 속도 향상을 위해 반드시 고려해야하는 사항이다. 본 논문에서는 고속열차의 속도향상 노력의 일환으로 진행되고 있는 '공력해석 향상 기술'의 연구 내용과 더불어, 터널 미기압파 저감을 위한 전두부 형상 최적화 결과와 팬터그래프 공력성능 향상을 위한 강건 최적화 결과를 소개한다.
