This paper adopts recently developed panel unit root test that is cross-sectionally robust. Cointegration test is also used to find whether regional house prices are in line with gross regional domestic production (GRDP) in the long run in Korea during 1989-2009. Based on the panel VECM and the panel ARDL models, we examine causal relationships among the variables and estimate the long-run elasticity. We find evidence of cointegration and bidirectional causal relationships between regional house prices and GRDP. The results of long-run estimates, using both fixed effect and ARDL models, show that house prices positively and significantly influence on the GRDP and vice versa. Together with these results, the findings of ARDL-ECM imply that there exists a long-run equilibrium relationship between house prices and regional economic variables even if there is a possibility of short-run deviation from its long-run path.
The present work is the study of mechanical behavior due to variation of the geometrical parameters in the core of the sandwich honeycomb panel. This study has allowed us to increase or decrease the strains and stresses of the panel, in changing the angle of alveolus, as explained and described below. In taking into consideration the results obtained previously to improve the mechanical properties and increase the adhesion of different parts of the panel, without changing the adhesive, we have conceived two new models, in increasing the contact surfaces in boundary of each part of the panel and giving a conical hexagonal shape in his corp.

This paper concentrated on the ultimate uniaxial compressive strength of stiffened panel with opening under lateral load and also studied the design-oriented formulae. For this purpose, three series of well executed experiments on longitudinal stiffened panel with rectangular opening subjected to the combined load have been selected as test models. The finite element analysis package, ABAQUS, is used for simulation with considering the large elasticplastic deflection behavior of stiffened panels. The feasibility of the numerical procedure is verified by a good agreement of experimental results and numerical results. More cases studies are executed employing nonlinear finite element method to analyze the influence of design variables on the ultimate strength of stiffened panel with opening under combined pressure. Based on data, two design formulae corresponding to different opening types are fitted, and accuracy of them is illustrated to demonstrate that they could be applied to basic design of practical engineering structure.

A vast amount of experimental and analytical research has been conducted related to the seismic behavior and performance of concrete filled steel tubular (CFT) columns. This research has resulted in a wealth of information on the component behavior. However, analytical and experimental data for structural systems with CFT columns is limited, and the well-known behavior of steel or concrete structures is assumed valid for designing these systems. This paper presents the development of an analytical model for nonlinear analysis of composite moment resisting frame (CFT-MRF) systems with CFT columns and steel wide-flange (WF) beams under seismic loading. The model integrates component models for steel WF beams, CFT columns, connections between CFT columns and WF beams, and CFT panel zones. These component models account for nonlinear behavior due to steel yielding and local buckling in the beams and columns, concrete cracking and crushing in the columns, and yielding of panel zones and connections. Component tests were used to validate the component models. The model for a CFT-MRF considers second order geometric effects from the gravity load bearing system using a lean-on column. The experimental results from the testing of a four-story CFT-MRF test structure are used as a benchmark to validate the modeling procedure. An analytical model of the test structure was created using the modeling procedure and imposed-displacement analyses were used to reproduce the tests with the analytical model of the test structure. Good agreement was found at the global and local level. The model reproduced reasonably well the story shear-story drift response as well as the column, beam and connection moment-rotation response, but overpredicted the inelastic deformation of the panel zone.

Aluminium extruded panel is the most important element for sound insulation in a express train. However, comparing with the flat plate with the same weight, the extruded panel shows remarkably low sound transmission loss above the 1st local resonance frequency, which is determined by the dimension of the core structure. Preceding study showed the possibility of the improvement of sound insulation performance by properly designing the core dimension. By the proper core design, local resonance frequency shifts to higher frequency region without any reduction of bending or torsional strength and without any weight increase. Based upon this result, this study investigates in detail the design modification of the core structure of the aluminium extruded panel used in a express train under development, in aspect of sound insulation. Design result is compared with those of other developed models.

Monte Carlo simulation was performed on theoretical models of plywood warp for southern yellow pine plywood originating from the United States. The objective of the investigation was to determine which plywood layers was more warp sensitive to veneers that were manufactured to an undesired thickness. This study found that for a balanced panel (a panel of equal target thickness for each of five layers) manufactured veneers of undesired thickness would experience minimal warp. The veneers of undesired thickness placed in the center of the plywood panel also provided a minimum change of plywood warp properties. The panel warp was very sensitive to surface veneers constructed with undesired thickness. Conversely, this study confirms that monitoring of veneer thickness and proper allocations within the plywood lay-up were critical.

This paper discusses a method to generate the tool path for NC machining of automobile panel dies. The source data representing a panel die may be generated from digitizing machines, other CAD/CAM systems via IGES files, of compound surface models. From the source data, three types of interferencefree tool paths are generated automatically ; a parallel (Cartesian), an isometric, and a pencil cutting tool path. For the interference-free tool path, a polyhedral model composed of several triangles, and an 'offset triangle' approach are exploited. Finally, some practical examples are illustrated.
The optical properties of PDP, such as the transmittance and reflectance, were analyzed with 3D optical code. Three different ITO-less structures in the front panel are examined. In the assembled panel study, the test 1 structure shows 16.6% and 10.2% higher reflectance than the structures of tests 2 and 3, respectively. In order to check the validation of the simulation result, three 7.5-inch test panels having the same geometry and property are fabricated as simulation models. The calculated reflective properties are compared to the measured data from real panels. The relative difference extracted from the simulation and measurement methods is less than 4.9% and are well matched.

In this paper, transmission loss of smart panel was investigated using piezoelectric shunt damping. Admittance of piezoelectric system was introduced to represent electro-mechanical coupling of smart panel and to predict the performance of shunt damping. Finite element method was used to obtain numerical admittance. In order to illuminate the effect of noise reduction in the shunt system, transmission loss of the smart panel was investigated. Two models were considered to show the relation between admittance and transmission loss of smart panel. It was observed that admittance of piezoelectric system could be used as a design index of smart panel.

As the film transistor-liquid crystal display (TFTLCD) panels become larger and provide higher resolution, the propagation delay of row and column lines, the voltage modulation of Vcom, and the response time of liquid crystal affect the display images now more than in the past. It is more important to understand the electrical characteristic of TFT-LCD panels these days. This paper describes the electrical model of a 15-inch XGA ($1024{\times}768$) TFT-LCD panel. The parasitic resistance and capacitance of its panel are obtained by 3D simulation of a sub pixel. The accuracy of these data is verified by the measured values in an actual panel [1]. The developed panel simulation platform, the equivalent circuit of a 15-inch XGA panel, is simulated by HSPICE. The results of simulation are compared with those of experiment, according to changing the width of signal. Especially, the proposed simulation platform for modeling TFTLCD panels can be applied to large size LCD TVs. It can help panel and circuit designers to verify their ideas without making actual panels and circuits.
