  • Using the steady state gains, an appropriate criterion used for the interaction analysis among variables and the loop pairing is suggested. Based upon the suggested criterion derived from the derivative relation of implicit function, the SISO pairing which has minimum interaction among control system variables and good control performance can be determined. The relative effect among diagonal gains and off-diagona gains, which was not considered in other criteria, can be explained deterministically Also, the criterion can be easily applied to partial MIMO pairing. This criterion was applied to several examples to illustrate its usefulness in finding the feasible SISO pairing and MIMO pairing

  • VLSI 기술의 발전에 따라 프로세서의 속도는 빠르게 증가하고 있는 반면 메모리의 속도는 이를 뒷받침하지 못하여 속도의 차이를 줄이기 위해 캐쉬(cache) 메모리를 사용하고 있다. 캐쉬가 알고리즘의 실행시간에 미치는 영향이 점점 더 커지고 있으나 이제가지 개발된 대부분의 알고리즘들은 이러한 캐쉬의 중요성을 고려하지 않고 개발되었다. 본 논문에서는 캐쉬 효과를 고려한 확장된 Pairing Heap 알고리즘에 관해 연구하였고, 실험을 통하여 기존의 Pairing Heap 알고리즘과 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 비교하였다.

Energy and Temperature Dependences of the Spin Cutoff Parameter in 50-57Cr Isotopes

  • The spin cutoff parameters of $^{50-57}Cr$ isotopes have been calculated using a superconducting Hamiltonian with the inclusion of the pairing effect. Their energy and temperature dependences have been studied through comparison with some well-known semi-empirical formulae. This study shows that the microscopic calculation results converge to the Fermi gas model prediction at higher energies. Also, an even-odd effect is evident in the spin cutoff parameters at low temperatures and disappears after the pairing phase transition.

Effect of Ion-Pair on Jejunal and Nasal Absorption of Cefotaxime (세포탁심의 공장 및 비점막흡수에 미치는 이온쌍의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the intestinal and nasal absorption enhancement of cefotaxime (CTX) by ion-pairing with counterions and to design an effective oral and intranasal drug delivery system for antibiotics. Counterions for absorption promotion were cationic surfactants [cetylpyridinium chloride (CP), cetrimide (CT) and benzalkonium chloride (BA)]. In the presence of counterions, the apparent partition coefficient of cefotaxime was increased depending on the molar concentration of the counterions. Anion interference was observed for ion-pairing of cefotaxime with counterions because of the counterbalance between an anion and counterions. The present study employed the in situ simultaneous nasal and intestinal perfusion technique in rats. The apparent permeabilities $(P_{app})$ of cefotaxime were $1.43{\pm}0.04{\times}10^{-5}\;cm/sec(mean{\pm}S.E)$ in the nasal cavity and 0 in the jejunum, respectively, which indicated that the intrinsic absorptivity of cefotaxime was greater in the nasal cavity than in the jejunum. When ionupairing formers were used, the decreasing order of apparent cefotaxime permeability $(P_{app},\;10^{-5}\;cm/sec)$, corrected for surface area of absorption, was as followings: $BA\;(7.50{\pm}0.36)\;>\;CT\;(4.92{\pm}0.24)\;>\;CP\;(3.01{\pm}0.17)$ in the jejunum and $BA\;(22.31{\pm}1.36)\;>\;CP\;(18.24{\pm}0.81)\;>\;CT \;(16.22{\pm}1.87)$ in the nasal cavity. The increase in permeability of cefotaxime was about 13-fold in the rat nasal cavity and was marked in the rat jejunum for ion-pairing with counterions as compared to those without ion-pairing. The damages of jejunal and nasal mucosal membrane by counterions were observed within approximately 2hrs after removal of ion-pair of cefotaxime with counterions from the nasal cavity and jejunum. These results suggest that CP can be used as an ion-pairing former in the jejunum and CP and CT can be used as ion-pairing formers in the nasal cavity for cefotaxime, as well as for poorly absorbed drugs with a negative charge due to ionization.

  • As the memory access time becomes slower relative to the fast processor speed, most systems use cache memory to reduce the gap. The cache performance has an increasingly large impact on the performance of algorithms. Blocking is the well known method to utilize cache and has shown good results in multiplying matrices and search trees like d-heap. But if we use blocking in the data structures which require rotation during insertion or deletion, the execution time increases as the data movements between blocks are necessary. In this paper, we have proposed the extended pairing heap algorithms using block node and shown by experiments that our structure is superior Also in case of using block node, we use less memory space as the number of pointers decreases.

The Effect of Some Binary Additive Systems in the Electrodeposition of Cadmium (카드뮴 전해석출에서의 이성분첨가물계의 효과)

  • An investigation was made of possible ways in which one could control the relative rates of cadmium deposition and hydrogen evolution by binary additive systems. Benzyl alcohol was employed as an additives due to its ability to form a hydrophobic film which inhibit the electroreduction of water to form hydrogen. The second additive was chosen to make the cadmium(II) ion less hydrophilic and increase its ability to cross the hydrophobic benzyl alcohol film and be electrodeposited at the cathode. It was shown by voltammetric and current efficiency studies that ion pairing and complexing additives could be used to accelerate the reduction of cadmium in the presence of the benzyl alcohol film. It was also shown that the benzyl alcohol film lowered the dielectric constant of the solution near the electrode enough to obtain ion pairing between the sodium ion and the negative chloride complex of cadmium and accelerate the reduction of the cadmium. This acceleration did not occur in the sulfate solution in the absence of chloride since cadmium(II) is primarily present as a positive aquo complex and ion pairing, if it occured, would not accelerate but would hinder reduction of cadmium.

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate learnability of gestures-commands pair when people use gestures to control a device. Background: In vision-based gesture recognition system, selecting gesture-command pairing is critical for its usability in learning. Subjective preference and its agreement score, used in previous study(Lim et al., 2012) was used to group four gesture-command pairings. To quantify the learnability, two learning models, average time model and marginal time model, were used. Method: Two sets of eight gestures, total sixteen gestures were listed by agreement score and preference data. Fourteen participants divided into two groups, memorized each set of gesture-command pair and performed gesture. For a given command, time to recall the paired gesture was collected. Results: The average recall time for initial trials were differed by preference and agreement score as well as the learning rate R driven by the two learning models. Conclusion: Preference rate agreement score showed influence on learning of gesture-command pairs. Application: This study could be applied to any device considered to adopt gesture interaction system for device control.

  • The ID-based cryptosystem and Power Analysis Attack are attracting many researchers and have been developed aggressively to date. Especially, DPA (Differential Power Analysis) attack has been considered to be the most powerful attack against low power devices, such as smart cards. However, these two leading topics are researched independently and have little hewn relations with each other. In this paper, we investigate the effect of power analysis attack against ID based cryptosystem. As a result, we insist that ID-based cryptosystem is secure against DPA and we only need to defend against SPA (Simple Power Analysis).

Effect of ion Pairing on the Cellular Transport of Antisense Oligonucleotide

  • Antisense oligonucleotide represents an interesting tool for selective inhibition of gene expression. However, their low efficiency of introduction within intact cells remains to be overcome. Antisense-$TGF{\beta}$ (25 mer) and antisense-$TGF{\beta}$ (18 mer) were used to study the cellular transport and biological function of antisense oligonucleotide in vitro. Since TGF and TNF play on important role in regulating the nitric oxide production from macrophages, the action of the above antisense oligonucleotides was easily monitored by the determination of nitrite. Poly-L-lysine, benzalkonium chloride and tetraphenylphosphonium chloride were used as polycations, which neutralize the negative charge of antisense oligonucleotide. The production of nitric oxide mediated by .gamma.-IFN in mouse peritoneal macrophage was increased by antisense-TGF.betha. in a dose-dependent manner. Antisense-$TGF{\beta}$ reduced the nitric oxide release from activated RAW 264.7 cells. Significant enhancement in the nitric oxide production was investigated by the cotreatment of poly-L-lysine with antisense-$TGF{\beta}$On the meanwhile, inhibition effect of antisense-$TGF{\beta}$ is not changed by the addition of poly-L-lysine. These results demonstrate that control of expression of $TGF{\beta}$ and TNF.alpha. gene is achieved using antisense technology and the cellular uptake of antisense oligonucleotide could be enhanced by ion-pairing.
