농가소득(農家所得) 측면(側面)에서 본 소작농가(小作農家)의 성격(性格)에 관한 실증적(實證的) 연구(硏究) (A Positive Study on the Characteristics of Tenant Farms according to Farm Income)

  • This paper aims to identify the characteristics of the tenant farm's income compared with farm household consumption. Farm household surplus is a critical criteria for the reproduction of agriculture. The degree of self sufficiency of farm household consumption according to agricultural income was rapidly decreasing for the period of 1980's. Only 78.9 percents of farm household consumption was earned by agricultural income. Tenant farms were classified according to the following characteristics; self-supported, semi self-supported, leased, deleted, over-consumption. Self-supported tenants are one of the backbones of Korea's future agriculture, because they are able to meet their household needs by only their farm work without other income producing endeavors. The rent paid by those tenants surveyed was estimated at 26.2 percents of their farm household income. However, the national average for such rental payment is equivalent to 4.7 percents of farm household income. 63 percents of paddy rental fee was paid by inkind of rice and 80 percents of the upland rental fee was paid by cash. Self-supported farms as 20 percents of total surveyed should be the target of agricultural price policy and semi self-supported & over-consumption farms as 30 percents be that of rural development policy, and the other half be that of social welfare policy.

  • This study is approach to the Home-Based Work. More specifically, to examine about the families who try to combined home life and income-generation work under the same roof. Families were looking at Home-Based Work as one solution to the work-family crunch. Many research papers have suggested that Home-Based Work provides an effective way to balance the demands of paid employment and family responsibilities. Therefore, this proposed research reviewed the Home-Based Work as they contributed to individual and family satisfactions. The Prupose of this paper is to address issues related to Home-Based Work from the perspective of theory and application in family resource management, also to suggest a conceptual model for family work activities is advanced. This paper is examined concepts related to Home-Based Work employment that could be used to frame and describe the empirical study are specified. This paper was informed by analyses of data from project NE-167. "At-Home Income Generation: Impact on Management, Productivity, and Stability in Rural/Urban Families". The results from this paper will be helpful in enhancing the stability and satisfaction of families who worked in Home-Based Work.ased Work.

Work life balance practices and the link to innovation and productivity: A comprehensive literature review

  • Purpose - This paper is to review recent literature, by conducting a thorough investigation of the limitations and implications for future research on work-life balance with the focus and linkages between work-life balance practices, machine learning and emotional intelligence, work-life conflict, the correlations between work-life enrichment and work-life balance practices, the relationships between employee job satisfaction and work-life balance, the links between work-life balance and the managerial support. Research design, data, and methodology - The paper will further detail linkages between work-life balance and organizational performance outcomes productivity and innovation. Previous literatures have paid attentions to the link of HR practices and organizational outcomes such as productivity, flexibility, and financial performance, but the understanding needs to be extended to involve innovation performance. Dealing with employees' emotions using different machine learning techniques is one of the phenomenal researches in today's world. Here, we examine how far the employees are conscious of their own self and found the ideas and views of an individual about themselves and others. Without proper knowledge about their personality it will be very difficult for an individual to manage their own emotions. This study also aims at finding out the individual abilities to manage their emotions in order to perform well. Conclusions - A theoretical conceptual framework has been built by integrating the existing literature to explain a number of factors which are closely associated with work-life balance. The conceptual model illustrates how the work-life balance interplays with performance and interrelates with the aforementioned factors.

Observations on Spatial Characteristics for Successful Smart Offices and Smart Work Centers

  • Advances in information and mobile technologies have changed the traditional firm ways of working very flexible, collaborative and innovative, resulting in the changes in work place structures and layouts. Despite the growing body of literature examining the novel ways of working, which is called smart work, there is little academic attentions paid to the spatial aspects of new work places, namely smart offices and smart work centers. This research explores the spatial changes of work places that improve business efficiency and collaboration among workers suitable for the novel ways of working. Conducting in-depth field surveys on selected cases, we analyzed the changes in spatial structure and operation policies of smart offices and smart work centers. From this survey, we observed that the new work places under study take various novel spatial forms and they have flexible operating policies such as flexible seating and flexible work hours. We also found that it would be difficult to change existing business practices and typical ways of performing tasks, without changing the bureaucratic spatial designs and layouts. Future studies are suggested to examine how spatial structures and layouts of offices have impacts on space utilization, collaboration, creativity, and job satisfaction.

생애과정 전환기의 생활시간 배분에 관한 연구 -중.고령자의 생활시간 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on Time Allocation in Transition to Old Age -Focusing on the Patterns of Time Allocation among People aged 45 or more-)

  • 본 연구는 2009년 통계청 생활시간조사자료를 이용하여 연령과 사회구조적 층화에 따른 시간 배분 경향을 분석하였다. 중고령자의 생활시간배분 경향을 총체적으로 파악하기 위해 유급노동과 더불어 가사활동, 사회참여, 여가시간을 포괄적으로 분석하였으며, 생활시간 배분경향이 연령과 사회구조적 층화의 상호작용에 따라 달라지는지 확인하기 위해 토빗회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 중고령자의 시간배분 경향은 유급노동시간의 점진적 감소와 가사노동 및 수동적 여가의 증대로 나타났다. 그러나 이러한 경향은 사회구조적 층화에 따라 상이하게 분화되고 있었다. 교육수준이 높을수록, 무배우자가 유배우자에 비해, 연령증가에 따른 유급노동시간의 감소가 급격히 나타나고 여가시간은 가파르게 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 농가는 비농가에 비해 연령에 따른 노동시간 감소가 완만하게 나타났으며, 여성은 남성에 비해 연령증가에 따라 가사와 돌봄활동을 감소시켰지만, 생산활동시간 총량은 크게 변하지 않았다. 이상의 분석결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 효과적인 고령화 정책을 마련하기 위해 고령자를 단일집단으로 간주하는 획일적인 접근을 탈피하고, 고령화라는 변화를 겪는 이들이 놓여있는 다양한 사회구조적 요인을 반영할 필요성이 있음을 제언하였다.

노동인가, 돌봄인가, 여가인가? -전일제 임노동자 맞벌이 부모의 시간배분에 대한 젠더 영향과 학력의 조절효과- (Work, Care or Leisure? - The Effects of Gender and Education on Time Allocation of Full-time Working Parents)

  • 이 연구는 전일제 임노동자인 맞벌이 부모의 유급노동, 자녀돌봄, 여가에 대한 시간배분을 젠더와 학력 요인을 중심으로 살펴본 것이다. 연구 초점은 전일제로 일을 하는 부모의 일, 돌봄, 여가시간에 대한 배분이 전통적인 성역할 이념에 의해 영향을 받는지 여부와, 시간배분에 대한 젠더 효과가 고학력일 경우에 완화되는지 여부이다. 이에 유급노동시간, 자녀돌봄시간, 여가시간의 비중 각각에 대한 젠더 효과와, 이에 대한 학력의 조절효과 존재 여부를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 시간배분에 대한 젠더 효과와 학력의 조절효과에 대한 가설은 부분적으로 검증되었다. 우선 어머니임은 시간 배분에서 유급노동시간 비중을 줄이는 유의미한 요인이 아니지만, 돌봄시간 비중을 높이고, 여가시간 비중을 줄이는 유의미한 영향 요인이다. 즉, 젠더는 생산영역 시간인 노동시간 비중에는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않지만, 가족시간인 돌봄시간, 개인적 시간인 여가시간 할당에는 유의미한 영향을 미친다. 한편 학력은 돌봄시간 비중과 여가시간 비중에 대한 젠더 영향에 조절효과를 갖는다. 고학력일수록 부모의 시간 배분에서 돌봄시간 비중의 젠더 격차는 감소한다. 고학력일수록 여가시간 비중의 젠더 격차는 오히려 커진다. 이에 학력 증가는 양성 모두의 자녀돌봄 참여에 대한 인식을 제고하여 돌봄시간 배분에 대한 젠더 격차를 줄일 수 있지만, 가부장적 성역할 인식을 전면적으로 변화시켜 부모의 일상을 일-삶 균형 제고의 방향으로 포괄적으로 변화시킬 것으로 기대하기 어렵다.

  • Low-grade waste heat has generally been discarded in industry due to lack of efficient recovery methods. In recent years, organic Rankine cycle(ORC) has become a field of intense research and appears as a promising technology for conversion of heat into useful work of electricity. In this work thermodynamic performance of ORC with superheating of vapor is comparatively assessed for various working fluids. Special attention is paid to the effects of system parameters such as the evaporating temperature on the characteristics of the system such as maximum possible work extraction from the given source, volumetric flow rate per 1 kW of net work and quality of the working fluid at turbine exit as well as thermal efficiency.

  • Previous works on safety behavior have paid less attention to the influence of several leadership styles on safety behavior. Among the various leadership styles, I focus on the effect of coaching leadership on safety behavior. To be specific, this paper investigates the impact of coaching leadership on safety behavior and its underlying mechanisms (mediator) as well as contextual factor (moderator). This research examines the sequential mediating effect of perceived organizational support and organizational identification in the association between coaching leadership and safety behavior. Also, work overload will negatively moderate the coaching leadership-perceived organizational support link. My results showed coaching leadership increases employee safety behavior through the sequential mediation of perceived organizational support and organizational identification. In addition, work overload functions as a negative moderator which diminishes the positive effect of coaching leadership on perceived organizational support.

Paid Peering: Pricing and Adoption Incentives

  • Large access providers (ISPs) are seeking for new types of business agreements and pricing models to manage network costs and monetize better the provision of last-mile services. A typical paradigm of such new pricing norms is the proliferation of paid peering deals between ISPs and content providers (CPs), while on top of this, some ISPs are already experimenting with usage-based tariffs, usually through data-plans, instead of the typical fixed-based charging. In this work we define as common platform, the infrastructure in which a single ISP transacts with several CPs through peering agreements. In this context, we examine whether, and under which market conditions, the profitability of the involved stakeholders improves when the establishment of this platform is accompanied by a monetary compensation from the CPs to the ISP (paid peering), v.s. a scenario where their deal is a typical settlement-free one. In both cases, we assume that the ISP implements a usage-based access pricing scheme, implying that end-users will pay more for higher transaction rates with the CPs. Our framework captures some of the most important details of the current market, such as the various business models adopted by the CPs, the end-users' evaluation towards the ISP's and CPs' level of investments and the traffic rates per transaction for the offered services. By analysing the equilibrium derived by a leader-follower game, it turns out (among other practical takeaways) that whether or not the profitability of a CP improves, it highly depends on whether its business model is to sell content, or if it obtains its revenue from advertisements. Finally, we extract that consumer surplus is considerably higher under paid peering, which in turn implies improved levels of social welfare.

유료 비즈니스 콘텐츠 시장 개선 방안 연구 (An Exploratory Study of the Business Contents Market)

  • 정보통신기술 발전과 함께 무형제품인 콘텐츠의 수요는 점점 늘어나고 있다. 하지만 이에 비해 유료 콘텐츠 시장은 활성화 되어있지 않으며 특히 사업추진이나 업무에 필요한 비즈니스 콘텐츠를 거래하는 시장은 더욱더 저조하다. 기존 연구에서는 사업자 측면에서의 비즈니스 모델을 제시함으로서 유료 콘텐츠 시장을 활성화 시키는 방안을 탐색했다. 본 연구는 이용자의 관점에서의 비즈니스 콘텐츠 거래 시장의 비활성화 이유를 찾아보고자 직장인, 자영업자 등 비즈니스 콘텐츠 이용자 125명을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 실시하여 개선방안을 모색하는 질적 연구를 수행하였다. 비즈니스 콘텐츠를 구매하는 이유, 구매하지 않는 이유와 비즈니스 콘텐츠 시장의 문제점에 대한 심층 질의응답을 통해 비즈니스 콘텐츠 구매에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인들을 찾아냈다. 본 연구는 유료 비즈니스 콘텐츠 시장의 활성화를 위해 각 요소에 제시된 문제들에 대한 개선방안 그리고 사업자, 관련 정부, 이용자등 각 유료 비즈니스 콘텐츠 시장 참여자들의 역할을 도출하였다.
