  • Continuous Welded rail(C.W.R.) tracks has many advantages over the conventional jointed rail track. Due to the elimination of rail joints for thermal expantion, however it many cause the track to be suddenly bucklled by thermal loads. The present study investigates the influences of Pad-fastner on the Thermal buckling behavior of C.W.R. Parametric studies are performed to evaluate the effects of the individual parameters on the upper and lower critical bucklig temperature.

고온기 근권냉방방식에 따른 냉방효과와 토마토 생육 (Cooling Efficiency and Growth of Tomato as Affected by Root Zone Cooling Methods in Summer Season)

  • 근권냉방 방식에 따른 냉방 효율과 토마토 생육 특성을 검토하고자 XL냉수순환, 라디에이타 냉풍, 패드냉풍 및 대조구를 처리한 결과는 다음과 같다. 근권부 냉방온도는 공급수온이 17.8$^{\circ}C$일 때 XL 냉수순환구는 18.$0^{\circ}C$ 라디에이타 냉풍구는 27.2$^{\circ}C$, 패드 냉풍구는 20.3$^{\circ}C$였다. 배지 깊이와 시간대별 평균온도는 XL냉수순환구 22.8~24.7$^{\circ}C$. 라디에이타 냉풍구 22.7~24.2$^{\circ}C$, 패드 냉풍구 20.5~23.2$^{\circ}C$, 대조구 25.9~29.6$^{\circ}C$를 나타내어 냉방처리구가 대조구에 비해 5~6$^{\circ}C$더 낮았다. 토마토의 생육에 있어 엽장. 엽폭은 대조구에 비해 컸으며, 생체중 및 건물중의 경우에서도 비슷한 경향이었다 근활력에 있어 대조구는 45.0ug/g에 비해 근권냉방 처리구는 58.5-62.8 ug/g으로 높았으나. 근권냉방 처리구간에는 큰 차이가 없었다.

디스크 브레이크의 구조 및 열 해석 (Structural and Thermal Analysis of Disk Brake)

  • Continuous contraction and expansion of disk brake can be due to friction and temperature difference at repeated sudden braking. As serious vibration at disk is produced, the braking force will be changed ununiformly and braking system can not be stabilized. Temperature and heat flux at disk brake are investigated by structural and thermal analysis in this study. The maximum equivalent stress and displacement are shown respectively at the ventilated hole and the lower part of disk plate. At thermal analysis of initial state, temperature on disk plate is distributed from $95.9^{\circ}C$ to $100^{\circ}C$. The maximum heat flux of $0.0168W/mm^2$ is shown at the inner friction part between disk plate and pad. At thermal analysis of transient state, temperature on disk plate is distributed from $95^{\circ}C$ to $96.5^{\circ}C$ after 100 second. The maximum heat flux of $0.0024W/mm^2$ is also shown at the inner friction part between disk plate and pad. By comparing with initial state, the temperature on disk plate is more uniformly distributed and heat flux is more decreased by 7 times at transient state.

  • Hot spot behaviors on the disk-pad contact surface during a braking operation have been analyzed for a ventilated disk brake using the finite element method. Hot spots which were studied using a coupled thermal-mechanical analysis technique are influenced by all of the mechanical, thermal, elastic and plastic processes that are involved in braking cycles, but their temperature gradients are most affected by rubbing speeds, braking forces, and design parameters between the disk and the pad. Undesirable hot spots that are generated by local thermoelastic instabilities are intended to be removed by optimized design parameters and material properties. In this study, a three-dimensional numerical method for the demonstration of hot spot behaviors has been applied to the rubbing surfaces between the disk and the pad.

대형 틸팅패드 저어널베어링의 패드 입구에서 발생하는 선단압력에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Investigation on the Inlet Pressure Build-Up at the Entrance of a Large Tilting Pad Journal Bearing)

  • The experimental investigation on the inlet pressure of a large tilting pad journal bearing is studied. The continuous distribution of the film pressure and film thickness are measured along with the shaft speed and bearing load for various flow rates. Considerably large inlet pressure is observed at the entrance of each pad, especially lower pads. The inlet pressure increases with the increase of shaft speed as well as bearing load, but it is almost independent on the folw rate and the oil supply temperature. Because of the inlet pressure, the upper pads always keep up slight wedge film shape which are almost parallel to the journal surface, and spragging is not observed in the upper pads with no preload.

  • Metallic sintered brake pads are often applied to Mid/High Speed Train due to its high strength and thermal characteristics. Because of its imbalance contact between discs and pads can greatly influence the life span, one sided wear, discs attack/crack and threat the safety of the train during operation. In this research, we analyzed pressure/temperature distribution between brake pads and disks. Analyzed data had been verified and modified to conduct further tests of Flexible brake pads with small/full-scale dynamo test. Flexible brake pads were installed to TTX train to conduct further tests to identify the differences between Rigid brake pads and Flexible brake pads. In result, Flexible brake pads showed outstanding disk thermal stability, one sided wear, noise and life of pad than rigid brake pad.

  • Rail-pad is an important and readily replaceable component of a railway track, as it is the elastic layer between the rail and the sleeper. Characteristics and useful lifetime prediction of rail-pad was very important in design procedure to assure the safety and reliability. In order to investigate the useful lifetime, the accelerate test were carried out. Accelerated test results changes as the threshold are used for assessment of the useful life and time to threshold value were plotted against reciprocal of absolute temperature to give the Arrhenius plot. By using the acceleration test, several useful lifetime prediction for rail-pads were proposed.

  • Coupling rubber pad are important components in railway vehicles. It can be used for reduce shock, vibration and noise. Simple tension, equi-biaxial tension and pure shear test were performed to acquire the coefficient of rubber material which were Mooney-Rivlin and Ogden model. The finite element analysis was executed to evaluate the behavior of deformation and stress distribution by using the commercial finite element analysis code. Useful life evaluation are very important in design procedure to assure the safety and reliability of the rubber components. In this paper, useful life prediction of rubber pad for railway vehicle were experimentally investigated. Accelerated heat-aging test for rubber material were carried.   • This paper presents an experimental study of deep-drawing and rubber-pad forming process using titanium alloy sheet. The process and results of the work carried out to investigate the capability of the process and to optimize th process parameters to ensure a sound forming. Room and high temperature tensile tests were carried out at various process conditions and microstructural evaluation was investigated. The experimental investigation was done using 150 ton hydraulic press to produce a deep-drawn part. Both graphite lubricant and polyethylene sheet were essential for defect-free product. Regarding the rubber-pad forming, reasonable formability was obtained only for pure-Ti not for Ti-6Al-4V.

흑색 황화염료와 초극세사 나일론 스웨이드 부직포 직물의 Pad-steam 염색 및 염색성 평가 (Dyeing Properties of Ultra-fine Nylon Suede Non-woven Fabric with Sulphur Black Dye by Pad-steam Process)

  • In this study, we investigated the dyeing properties of the ultra-fine nylon suede non-woven fabric with Sulphur black dye regarding to the effect of dye concentrations, reducing agent contents, sodium carbonate contents, antioxidant contents, immersion temperature and exposure time in air by pad-steam process. The optimal conditions of dyeing for the ultra-fine nylon suede non-woven fabric were determined with dye concentration of 30% o.w.f., reducing agent content of $9{\sim}13g/{\ell}$, sodium carbonate content of $1{\sim}4g/{\ell}$, antioxidant content of $1{\sim}5g/{\ell}$, immersion temperature of $70^{\circ}C$, exposure time of 20 minutes in air and immersion time of 1 minute, respectively. Meanwhile, the colorfastness to washing, the colorfastness to light, and the colorfastness to perspiration for dyed ultra-fine nylon suede non-woven fabric were achieved in the range of 4-5 grades. The formaldehyde and arylamine were not detected on the ultra-fine nylon suede non-woven fabric by KC tests.
