The ad hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes dynamically forming a temporary network without the use of any existing network infrastructure of centralized administration. Load-Balanced Ad hoc Routing(LBAR) protocol is an on-demand routing protocol intended for delay-sensitive applications where users are most concern with packet transmission delay. Although LBAR mechanism is a novel load balancing routing protocol for ad hoc network, it has own limitation in route path maintenance phase. Therefore, in this paper, we propose Advanced Load-Balanced Ad hoc Routing(A-LBAR) that is delay-sensitive and has an efficient path maintenance scheme. The robust path maintenance scheme is maintained by considering about nodal loads all over network and misbehavior of overloaded or selfish nodes. The proposed scheme provides good performance over DSR and AODV in terms of packet delay and packet loss rate when some misbehaving nodes exist in the network.
The nature of wireless transmission has made wireless sensor networks defenseless against various attacks. This paper presents warning message counter method (WMC) to detect blackhole attack, grayhole attack and sinkhole attack in wireless sensor networks. The objective of these attackers are, to draw the nearby network traffic by false routing information and disrupt the network operation through dropping all the received packets (blackhole attack), selectively dropping the received packets (grayhole and sinkhole attack) and modifying the content of the packet (sinkhole attack). We have also attempted light weighted symmetric key cryptography to find data modification by the sinkhole node. Simulation results shows that, WMC detects sinkhole attack, blackhole attack and grayhole attack with less false positive 8% and less false negative 6%.

Proposed in this paper is an authentication mechanism for multimedia streaming data in the Intemet multicast environment. The multicast authentication mechanism is coupled with the packet-level forward error correction code which has been recently applied for a reliable multicast transport transmission. Associated with this, Reed-Solomon erasure code is chosen for tolerating packet loss so that each of the received packets can be authenticated independently of the lost packets.
Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) is a widely adopted Internet of Things (IoT) protocol due to its high range and lower energy consumption. LoRaWAN utilizes Adaptive Data Rate (ADR) for efficient resource (e.g., spreading factor and transmission power) management. The ADR manages these two resource parameters on the network server side and end device side. This paper focuses on analyzing the ADR and Gaussian ADR performance of LoRaWAN. We have performed NS3 simulation under a static scenario by varying the antenna height. The simulation results showed that antenna height has a significant impact on the packet delivery ratio. Higher antenna height (e.g., 50 m) has shown an improved packet success ratio when compared with lower antenna height (e.g., 10 m) in static and mobility scenarios. Based on the results, it is suggested to use the antenna at higher allevation for successful packet delivery.

In this paper, In this paper, we propose a Cooperative Routing Protocol (CooRP) for supporting network convergence and transmission services efficiently in mobile ad-hoc wireless sensor networks with Rayleigh fading environments. The main contributions and features of this paper are as follows. First, the routing routes are decided on route stability based on entropy concepts using mobility of nodes within the direction guided line region to increase the operational lifetime of routes as well as reduce control overhead for route construction. Second, a cooperative data transmission strategy based on the constructed stable routing route is used to increase packet delivery ratio with advanced SNR. Third, a theoretical analysis for cooperative data transmission of the proposed CooRP with outage probability is presented. The performance evaluation of the proposed CooRP is performed via simulation using OPNET and analysis. The results of performance evaluation show that the proposed CooRP by using stable routing routes and cooperative transmission can increase packet delivery ratio efficiently.

Vehicle to Everything (V2X) communication has been growing to enhance traffic safety by employing advanced wireless communication systems. V2X communication is one core solution for governing and advancing future traffic safety and mobility. In this paper, we design the system level simulator (SLS) of Long Term Evolution (LTE)-based V2X and propose the adaptive transmission scheme for vehicle communication. The proposed scheme allocates the resource randomly in time and frequency domain, and transmit the message according to probability of transmission. The performance analysis is based on freeway case in periodic message transmission. Simulation results show that proposed scheme can improve the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of packet reception ratio (PRR) and average PRR.
Measuring the end-to-end available bandwidth in the Internet is a useful tool for distributedapplication services or QoS (Quality-of-Service) guarantee. To measure the end-to-end available bandwidth, Single-hop Gap model-based packet train measurement techniques are well-known. However, the error of packet train output gap can happen by network topologies. This error of the output gap causes the inaccuracy of the available bandwidth measurement. In this paper, we propose a new end-to-end available bandwidth measurement technique with accurate capacity measurement and fast convergence methods. To solve the erroneous capacity measurement problem of the back-to-back packet train transmission, we propose a new available bandwidth measurement method by decoupling the capacity measurement with the initial gap of the packet train. Also, we propose a new technique to predict the proper initial gap of the packet train for faster convergence. We evaluate our proposed method by the simulation in various topologies comparing with previous methods.

In this paper, we investigate the physical layer network coding (PNC) technique in a two-way relay channel (TWRC) where two source nodes send and receive data with each other via a relay node. In particular, we consider the communication scenario where packet length from the two sources is different from each other. We analyze the bit error rate (BER) of the received packet at the relay node according to degree of overlapping between two packets. The BER of the short packet remains unchanged regardless of the degree of overlapping since the entire packet is overlapped with the longer packet, while the BER of the longer packet becomes improved as the degree of overlapping decreases. Thus, we need a novel transmission scheme to enhance BER performance of the PNC technique in TWRC environments since the overall BER performance of the PNC technique at the relay node depends on the worse BER between two ovelapping packets' BERs.

To minimize energy consumption, most of MAC Protocols in WSNs exploit low duty cycling. Among those, RMAC [4] allows a node to transmit a data packet for multiple hops in a single duty cycle, which is made possible by exploiting a control frame named Pioneer (PION) in setting up the path. In this paper, we present a MAC Protocol called Hop Extended MAC (HE-MAC) that transmits the data packet for more multiple hops in a single duty cycle. It employs an EXP (Explorer) frame to set up the multiple hop transmission, which contains the information of the maximum hop that a packet can be transmitted. With the use of the information in EXP and an internal state of Ready to Receive (RTR), HEMAC extends the relay of the packet beyond the termination of the data period by two more hops compared to RMAC. Along with our proposed adaptive sleeping method, it also reduces power consumption and handles heavy traffic efficiently without experiencing packet inversion observed in RMAC. We analytically obtain the packet delivery latency in HE-MAC and evaluate the performance through ns-2 simulations. Compared to RMAC, HE-MAC achieves 14% less power consumption and 20% less packet delay on average for a random topology of 300 nodes.
6LoWPAN (IPv6 Low-power Wireless Personal Area Network) is IPv6 packets transmission technology at Sensor network over the IEEE 802.15.4 Standard MAC and Physical layer. Adaptation layer between IP layer and MAC layer performs fragmentation and reassembly of packet for transmit IPv6 packets. RFC4944, IETF 6LoWPAN WG standard document define packet fragmentation and reassembly. In this paper, we propose the 6PASim (6LoWPAN Packet Simulator) to perform IPv6 packet fragmentation and reassembly for performance evaluation. The 6PASim consist of two parts. One is Packet_Transmit_module that makes IEEE 802.15.4 frames the IPv6 packet from upper layer, and transmit its. and the another is Packet_Receive_module that reassembles transferred frames and completes original IPv6 packets. we can evaluate frame transmit rate and amount of control message through 6PASim. The result of simulation shows the SRM (Selective Retransmission Method) scheme provider better performance than IRM (Immediate Retransmission Method) scheme.
