A Simple Method for Determining Activity of Milk Clotting Enzymes (응유효소의 간편한 역가측정법)

  • The process of milk clotting by enzymes was confirmed to be consisted of two distinct stages: an enzymic coagulation stage followed by a nonenzymic clotting stage. The endpoint of the enzymic stage was determined simply by measuring flow distance of milk-enzyme system in a regular test tube being laid down to five degree slope after the reaction. By measuring the time elapsed during the enzymic stage a new method of evaluating the power of milk clotting enzymes was proposed.

  • A comparative experiment on the duration of immunity and antigenicity of the Black-leg vaccine was conducted and following results were obtained. Animals vaccinated with formalin and modified living vaccine were equally survived when they were challenged 12 months after the vaccination. It was further found that the rate of survival was 50 % on both groups when the animals were challenged 16 months after the vaccination, and no distinctive difference was observed between the two groups by means of protection power.

  • 최근 많은 웹 어플리케이션은 오픈소스 프레임워크를 이용하여 개발되면서 개발환경과 개발방법이 표준화 되어 개발 생산성이 향상되었다. 그러나 여전히 운영 및 유지보수 측면에서의 비용은 줄어들고 있지 않다. 하지만 테스트를 자동화 하면 시스템을 수정할 때 좀더 안전하게 수정하고 또한 수정하는 부분이 시스템 전체에 미치는 영향을 최소화 할 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 오픈소스 프레임워크인 Struts2를 이용하여 웹 어플리케이션의 테스트 자동화 방법을 제안한다.

  • As concrete is used in many construction works, the use of aggregates is increasing. However, supply and demand of high-quality aggregates has become difficult recently, and although circular aggregates that recycle construction waste are used, the performance of concrete, such as liquidity and strength, are being reduced due to defective aggregates. As a result, quality tests such as sieve analysis test are conducted, but a lot of waste occurs such as time and manpower. To solve this problem, this study was conducted to measure the assembly rate of fine aggregate, which accounts for about 35% of the concrete volume, using Deep Learning.

However, the depletion of aggregate resources is making it difficult to supply and demand high-quality aggregates, and the use of defective aggregates is causing problems such as poor performance such as the liquidity and strength of concrete pouring out in the field. As a result, quality tests such as sieve analysis test is conducted on their own, but this study was conducted to improve time and manpower by using the CNN-based Deep Learning Model for the fineness modulus.

Similarity-Based Patch Packing Method for Efficient Plenoptic Video Coding in TMIV

  • As immersive video contents have started to emerge in the commercial market, research on it is required. For this, efficient coding methods for immersive video are being studied in the MPEG-I Visual workgroup, and they released Test Model for Immersive Video (TMIV). In current TMIV, the patches are packed into atlas in order of patch size. However, this simple patch packing method can reduce the coding efficiency in terms of 2D encoder. In this paper, we propose patch packing method which pack the patches into atlases by using the similarity of each patch for improving coding efficiency of 3DoF+ video. Experimental result shows that there is a 0.3% BD-rate savings on average over the anchor of TMIV.

Relationships among Emotional Labor, Self Efficacy, and Burnout of Employees in Public Health Centers (보건소 보건의료직 종사자들의 감정노동, 자기효능감 및 소진의 관계)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this descriptive, cross-sectional study was to examine relationships among emotional labor, self-efficacy, and burnout of employees in public health centers. Factors that influence burnout of workers were also assessed. Methods: One hundred sixty six workers in public health centers completed a pack of self-report questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA along with $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Employees in public health centers seemed to experience emotional labor to some extent. There were statistically significant differences in burnout depending on the age of workers. Employees' burnout had a positive relationship with emotional labor and a negative relationship with self-efficacy. Factors influencing burnout of employees in public health centers were emotional dissonance, surveillance & monitoring of organization, age, and self-efficacy. Conclusion: Considering the findings from this study, health care providers need to develop effective interventions which increase the level of self-efficacy and decrease certain types of emotional labor for employees in public health centers and to help them effectively manage burnout.

A Study on Engine Oil Consumption Considering Wear of Piston-Ring and Cylinder Bore (피스톤-링 및 실린더 보아 마모를 고려한 엔진오일소모 연구)

  • Ring and cylinder bore wear may not be a problem in most current automotive engines. However, a small change in ring face and cylinder bore diameter can significantly affect the lubrication characteristics and ring axial motion. This in turn can cause to change inter-ring pressure, blow-by and oil consumption in an engine. Therefore, by predicting the wear of piston ring face and cylinder bore altogether, the changed ring end gap and the changed volume of gas reservoir can be calculated. Then the excessive oil consumption can be predicted. Here, the oil amount through top ring gap into combustion chamber is estimated as engine oil consumption. Furthermore, the wear theories of ring and cylinder bore are included. The changed oil consumption caused by the new end gap and the new volume of oil reservoir around second land, can be calculated at some engine running interval. Meanwhile, the wear amount and oil consumption occurred during engine durability cycle are compared with the calculated values. The wear data of rings and cylinder bore are obtained from three engines after engine durability test. The calculated wear data of each part are turn out to be around the band of averaged test values or a little below. It is shown that the important factor regarding oil consumption increasement is the wear of ring face.

Injury Assessment and Analysis under Blast Load Using MADYMO (MADYMO를 이용한 폭발 하중에 따른 인체 상해평가 및 분석)

  • There is a need for explosion experiments for explosion-related research. However, there are many restrictions in performing an actual experiment. Therefore, in this paper, an alternative method of overcoming the constraints of an explosion experiment has been conducted using a passenger behavior analysis program called MADYMO to assess and analyze the human body injury due to explosion load. To increase the reliability of the analysis, a drop test has been conducted with the analysis. We provide a new framework for performing the analysis. In future, we will further develop our research with the goal of reducing the opportunity cost for the study of the human body injury.

Case Report of Facial Nerve Paralysis (안면신경마비의 치험례)

  • Facial nerve paralysis(or Bell's palsy) which commonly occurs unilaterally, gives rise to paralysis of facial expression muscle. This condition is classified into symptomatic facial nerve paralysis due to intracranial tumor, post operative trauma, etc. and idiopathic facial nerve paralysis. To explain the etiology of idiopathic facial nerve paralysis, many hypothesis including ischemic theory, viral infection, exposure to cold, immune theory etc. were suggested, but there is no agreement at this point. The method to evaluate the facial nerve paralysis, when it occurs, consists of three stage scale method, image thechnics like CT and MRI, laboratory test to examine the antibody titers of viral infection, neurophysiologic test to evaluate the degree and prognosis of paralysis. Treatment includes medication, stellate ganglion block(SGB), surgery, physical therapy and other home care therapy. In medication, systemic steroids, vitamins, vasodilating-drug and ATP drugs were used. SGB was also used repeatedly to attempt the improvement of circulation and to stimulate the recovery of nerve function. Physical therapy including electric acupuncture stimulation therapy(EAST) and hot pack was used to prevent the muscle atrophy. When No response was showed to this conservative therapies, surgery was considered. After treating two patients complaining of Bell's palsy with medication(systemic steroids) and EAST, favorable result was obtained. so author report the case of facial nerve paralysis.
