The Perforation Behavior of the Anodized AI Light Armor under High Velocity Impact

  • In order to investigate the effect of surface treatment (Anodizing) and rolling on AI 5083-H131 alloy, under hyper velocity impact, a ballistic testing was conducted. Ballistic resistance of these materials was measured by a protection ballistic limit ($V_{50}$)' a statistical velocity with 50% probability of penetration. Perforation behavior and ballistic tolerance, described by penetration modes, were respectfully observed, by $V_{50}$ test and Projectile Through Plates (PTP) test at velocities greater than $V_{50}$. PTP tests were conducted with 0$^{\circ}$ obliquity at room temperature using 5.56mm ball projectiles. $V_{50}$ tests with 0$^{\circ}$ obliquity were also done with projectiles that were able to achieve near or complete penetration during PTP tests. Resistance to penetration, and penetration modes of Al 5052-H34 alloy were compared to those of Al 5083-H 131 alloy.

Analysis of Packet Transmission Probability under Flooding Routing

  • In this paper, the computational problems of packet transmission probability (PTP) in a computer communication network (CCN) under flooding routing are investigated. To avoid a congestion under this routing, two control methods are considerd, i. e., copy storage control and hop count control. Problems of PTP under flooding routings with these two control methods are respectively shown to be equivalent to those of source-to-terminal reliability(STR) with an exception for a case of hop count control where the hop count is less than the length of the longest path. For this exceptional case, an efficient computational algorithm for PTP is developed. This algorithm is proposed as an efficient tool for the determination of hop count which satisfies a given reliability constraint. A numerical example illustrates a proposed algorithm.

호흡동조 방사선치료 시 호흡유도시스템의 유용성 평가 (Evaluation of the Usefulness of the Respiratory Guidance System in the Respiratory Gating Radiation Therapy)

  • 목 적: 호흡동조방사선치료(Respiratory Gating Radiation Therapy, RGRT)에서 호흡의 안정성은 매우 중요한 인자이다. 이러한 호흡의 안정을 위해 본인의 호흡주기를 직접 확인할 수 있도록 시청각시스템을 이용한 호흡유도시스템을 개발하였고 이의 유용성을 평가하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2011년 6월부터 2012년 4월까지 본원에서 호흡동조방사선치료를 받은 7명의 환자를 대상으로 시청각시스템을 이용하지 않는 자유호흡을 먼저 측정하고 자체개발한 호흡유도시스템을 이용한 호흡을 측정하였다. 시청각시스템을 이용한 호흡연습 후에는 치료실내에서의 자가호흡과 시청각시스템을 이용한 호흡을 각각 측정하였다. 측정된 데이터는 호흡주기, 호흡함수의 면적을 구하여 표준편차를 구하였으며, 이를 분석하여 치료전후의 호흡변화를 알아 보았다. 결 과: 자유호흡과 오디오 유도시스템, 시청각 유도시스템의 표준편차는 PTP (peak to peak)가 각각 0.343, 0.148, 0.078이다. 호흡주기는 각각 0.645, 0.345, 0.171이며, 호흡함수의 면적은 각각 2.591, 1.008, 0.877로 나타났다. 전체 환자의 CT실과 치료실에서의 차이를 평균한 값은 PTP가 0.425, 호흡주기가 1.566, 호흡면적이 3.671로 측정되었다. 호흡유도시스템 적용전후의 표준편자는 PTP가 0.265, 호흡주기가 0.474, 호흡면적이 1.714의 차이를 나타내었다. 자유호흡과 시청각유도시스템 적용전후의 값을 T-검정한 결과에서는 PTP, 주기, 호흡함수면적에서 각각 P-value 0.035, 0.009, 0.010의 값을 나타냈다. 결 론: 호흡동조방사선치료에서 호흡조절은 치료의 성패를 좌우할 만큼 중요한 인자이다. 자유호흡이나 청각에 의존한 호흡주기 획득에 비해 시청각 호흡유도 시스템을 이용한 경우에 보다 안정적인 호흡을 얻을 수 있었다. 특히, 치료실에서도 같은 시스템을 이용하여 호흡을 조절함으로써 호흡주기의 재현성이 뛰어났다. 이러한 시스템은 호흡불안정에 의한 치료시간의 지연을 줄이고 좀 더 정확하고 정밀한 치료가 가능하게 되었다.

  • 2-phenyl-N-methyl-1,3-thiazolium perchlorate(PTP)derivatives were synthesized via addition and substitution reactions. PTP was hydrolyzed under aqueous hydrochloride. The structures of the compounds were conformed by N.M.R.,I.R., and elemental analysis.

Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Heterocyclic Ring-substituted Chalcone Derivatives as Novel Inhibitors of Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 1B

  • Protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) is a key factor in negative regulation of the insulin pathway, and is a promising target for the treatment of type-II diabetes, obesity and cancer. Herein, compound ($\mathbf{4}$) was first observed to have moderate inhibitory activity against PTP1B with an $IC_{50}$ value of $13.72{\pm}1.53{\mu}M$. To obtain more potent PTP1B inhibitors, we synthesized a series of chalcone derivatives using compound ($\mathbf{4}$) as the lead compound. Compound $\mathbf{4l}$ ($IC_{50}=3.12{\pm}0.18{\mu}M$) was 4.4-fold more potent than the lead compound $\mathbf{4}$ ($IC_{50}=13.72{\pm}1.53{\mu}M$), and more potent than the positive control, ursolic acid ($IC_{50}=3.40{\pm}0.21{\mu}M$). These results may help to provide suitable drug-like lead compounds for the design of inhibitors of PTP1B as well as other PTPs.

정밀 시각 프로토콜 동기 성능 평가 (Evaluation of Synchronization Performance with PTP)

  • In this paper, we described the investigated theoretical time synchronization performances and experiment results obtained by commercially provided PTP (Precise Time Protocol) modules when the time of a slave clock is synchronized to the master clock. In the case of the theoretical performance analysis, we investigated 3 types of clock levels such as Crystal Oscillator (XO), TCXO (Temperature Compensated XO) and OCXO (Oven Controlled XO). From the analysis, it was observed that the synchronization performance is greatly influenced by the synchronization period and the required performance under 1 us can be achieved by using XO level clocks when the synchronization period is less than 2 seconds and the uncertainty of the propagation delay is under 100 ns. For the experiments using commercial PTP modules, the synchronization performance was investigated for direct, through 1 hub and through 2 hubs connections between the master clock and the slave clock. From the experiment results, we observed that time synchronization under 90 ns with 1,000 seconds observation interval can be achieved in the case of direct connection.
