This paper is to study the effects of some PSTN(public switched telephone network) related services on PSTN usages. We found a strong relationship between the number of subscribed services and PSTN usages. The more a user subscribes, the more he/she spends on PSTN. We also found a relationship between the number of subscriptions and whether to subscribe a new introduced service. A user with more subscriptions is likely to adpot a new introduced service.

전화 서비스는 우리가 일상생활에서 널리 사용하고 있는 서비스이며, ATM기반의 초고속정보통신망에서도 가장 많은 수요가 있을 것으로 기대되는 서비스 중의 하나이다. 따라서 ATM망과 PSTN망을 접속하여 ATM망에 접속된 컴퓨터와 기존 PSTN망의 가입자간에 전화 서비스를 제공해 주는 연동 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 ATM망에 접속된 클라이언트와 PSTN망에 접속된 전화 가입자간에 전화 서비스를 제공하는 연동 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 연동 시스템은 PSTN I/F 모듈, 신호 처리 모듈, 음성 샘플링 모듈, 음성 재생 모듈, 전송 모듈, ATM I/F 모듈로 구성하였다. PSTN I/F 모듈과 ATM I/F 모듈은 상용 제품을 이용하여 구현하였고, 신호처리 모듈, 음성 샘플링 모듈, 음성 재생 모듈 및 전송 모듈은 윈도우95를 사용한 PC에서 소프트웨어로 구현하였다. 구현된 연동 시스템을 잉요하여 시험망을 구축하고 동작을 시험한 결과, ATM망의 클라이언트와 PSTN망의 전화 가입자간에 전화 서비스를 원활히 제공해 주었으며, 이를 통해 두 통신망간을 접속하는 연동 시스템이 올바르게 동작함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Networks의 PSTN/IP망의 연동을 위한 신호연동 방안을 비교 분석하였으며, PSTN/IP망 구성 및 음성 호 설정을 위한 신호 연동 방안으로 SS7 신호방식 연동 방법에 대해 살펴보았다. 그리고 PSTN/IP 망간 지능망서비스 연동을 위한 신호방식 연동 방안으로, IP 망에서 PSTN SSP로 지능망서 비스 호 루팅 방법, IP망에서 PSTN SCP로 INAP/SS7 액세스 방법의 장단점을 비교 분석하였고, 이를 구현하기 위한 IETF SIGTRAN의 프로토콜 스택 구조를 살펴보았다.

인터넷과 PSTN망에서 제한적으로 제공하던 VDIP 서비스를 향후 1-2년 사이렌 국내.외에서 본격적으로 제공할 계획이다. 즉 현재 국부적으로만 제공하고 있는 PSTN-to-PSTN, IP-to-IP, 그리고 IP-to-PSTN 서비스를 확장하고 또한 PSTN-to-IP 서비스도 제공하려고 한다. 그러나 이러한 기존 서비스의 확장과 새로운 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 두가지 중요한 문제인 서로 다른 VIP 사업자간의 연동, VDIP 사업자 망과 기존 PSTN 사업자 망과의 연동 문제를 해결해야 한다. 구체적으로, 이러한 문제는 두개의 이종 주소인 IP와 E.164 주소 사이의 전환 문제와 이종 네트워크들을 연동하는 다수의 게이트웨이들 간의 라우팅 문제로 세분할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 제안된 방법, 즉 ENUM과 TRIP 프로토콜에 대해서 기술하고, 두가지 기술들의 문제점과 향후 VDIP 서비스를 제공하기 위한 제반 통신 구조를 서술한다.

Along the advancement of mobile networks, fixed telephone networks are gradually advancing from legacy networks based on copper and circuit-switches to optical cables and packet-switched IP networks. Incumbent fixed-line telephone operators are facilitating the introduction of IP networks and are gradually converting to IP-based facilities according to the investment plans for each operator. As the PSTN's IP conversion exceeds a certain level and VoIP; (an alternative service); is activated, some countries; such as Europe; are considering terminating the PSTN service, centering on operators. In this paper, trends in the procedure, timing, and major issues related to the termination of an overseas PSTN are examined. The domestic status is also examined.

The objective of this paper is to evaluate the equilibrium price between PSTN and VoIP telephony services in the case of non-linear utility function. Currently there are two types of wired phone services we are known PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). The PSTN telephony which provide high quality service and VoIP which provides relatively low quality service form a vertically differentiated oligopoly. Therefore, the evaluation of the equilibrium price between PSTN and VoIP services is very important to wired phone service providers. The equilibrium price depends on the state of the service cost function has been proved different value. This paper was evaluated each equilibrium price for the state of the linear cost function and non-linear cost function. Subsequently, this paper analyzed the demand of both services and the equilibrium profit which can maximize the profit of both service providers.

This paper describes the maintenance function and administration function in the IWS (InterWorking System between PSTN and PSDN) which Interconnects the PSTN and PSDN. The former function is for the stable operation of the IWS system, and the latter function is for the management of the subscriber, billing and statistics informations.

본 논문은 PSTN과 인터넷전화기능을 모두 갖춘 단말(일명 듀얼폰)에서 데이터서비스를 제공하는 방안을 소개한다. 듀얼폰은 음성단말로써 PSTN 또는 VoIP 통화를 모두 수용하고, 발신시에는 발신모드를 선택하여 제공함으로써 사용자가 저렴한 통신요금을 활용할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그런데 본 단말은 인터넷브라우저를 탑재하지 않으므로 인터넷이 연결되어 있음에도 데이터서비스를 위한 웹 서버와 다이렉트 메시지교환이 용이하지 않다. 본 논문은 웹이용이 용이하지 않은 단말에서 데이터 서비스를 제공하는 방안을 소개한다.

본 논문에서는 음성 중심의 통신이 아닌 데이터 중심의 통신을 위한 네트워크인 PSTN/IP 통합망의 기본 호처리 프로세스를 객체 지향 관점에서 모델링을 하였다. 데이터 통신의 빠른 증가를 충족 시키기 위해, 기존의 하드웨어로 구성된 교환기를 범용 컴퓨터를 이용해 구현하고자 하는 PSTN/IP 통합망의 개발은 하드웨어 관점의 모델링이 아닌 소프트웨어 관점의 모델링을 기반으로 구축되어야 한다. 이를 위해 기존의 하드웨어 교환기 모델링에서 사용되던 State Model을 객체 지향 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 모델링의 표준인 UML(Unified Modeling Language) 표기법을 이용해 재모델링하였다.

In this paper, we propose an efficient per-Trunk interworking mechanism between PSTN and ATM network assuming the situation ATM network interworks with PSTN during the evolution period. The proposed mechanism improves the cell payload utilization by mapping only the active charnnels of PSTN frame into ATM cell payload. Also, we propose the frame recovery mechanism to guarantee the frame sequence integrity. The proposed mechanism is compared with other possible ones in terms of cell payload utilization, cell packetization delay. We present the implementation structure of the interworking unit. the correctness of the mechanism and the feasibility of the implementation are verifid through the CAD simulation.
