  • Point Spread Function (PSF) is one of the most important optical characteristics for describing the performance of a telescope. And a concept of subpixelization is inevitable in evaluating the undersampled PSF (Shin and Sakurai 2009). Then, the internal structure of Yohkoh SXT CCD pixel is not uniform: For the top half of pixel area, the X-ray should pass a so-called gate structure where the charges are transferred to an output amplifier. This gate structure shows energy-dependent sensitivity (Tsuneta et al. 1991). For example, for Al-K (8.34 A) X-ray emission, the transmission of the polysilicon gate is about 0.9. Also, for the peak coronal response of the SXT thin filters, around 17 angstrom (0.729 keV), the transmission of the gate is about 0.6, falling off sharply towards longer wavelengths. It should be noted that this spectrally dependent non-uniform response of each CCD pixel will certainly have a noticeable effect on the properties of the PSF at longer wavelengths. Therefore, especially for analyzing the undersampled PSF of low energy source, a careful consideration of non-uniform internal pixel structure is required in determining the shape of the PSF core. The details on the effect of gate structure will be introduced in our presentation.

  • The polysulfone(PSf)/polyethersulfone(PES) blend membranes were prepared by an immersion precipitation method. N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP) was used as a solvent and water as a nonsolvent. The composition of the coagulation bath and the dope polymer concentration as well as the blend ratio of two polymers were varied. The membrane morphologies were interpreted on the basis of the phase diagram of the PSf/PES/NMP/water system. As the solvent content in the coagulation bath increased in the single polymer system, the number of macrovoids decreased and the morphology was changed from finger-like to cellular structure. In the given bath condition phase separation occurs earlier for the solutions of PSf/PES blend than for those of single polymer. A horizontally layered structure and horizontal protuberances inside the macrovoid were observed for the membranes formed from PSf/PES blend solutions. This peculiar structure formation can be interpreted by a PSf-rich/PES-rich phase separation followed by a polymer-rich/polymer-lean phase separation during the exchange of solvent and nonsolvent.

  • Hollow Fiber flow field-flow fractionation (HF-FlFFF) has been tested in polyacrylonitrile (PAN) membrane channel in order to compare it with polysulfone (PSf) membrane channel. It has been experimentally shown that the separation time of 0.05-0.304 ${mu}m$ polystyrene latex (PSL) standards in PAN membrane channel is shorter than that in PSf channel by approximately 65%. The optimized separation condition in PAN membrane is ${\dot V}_{out}/{\dot V}_{rad}=1.4/0.12\;mL/min$, which is equal to the condition in PSf membrane channel. In addition both the resolution ($R_s$) and plate height (H) in PAN membrane channel are better than that in PSf membrane channel. The membrane radius was obtained by back calculation with retention time. It shows that the PSf membrane is expanded by swelling and pressure, but the PAN membrane doesn't expand by swelling and pressure.

  • In this paper we propose a sub-pixel point spread function (PSF) estimation method for a fully digital auto-focusing system. We assume that the amount of out-of-focus is the same along the concentric circle. In order to estimate the accurate PSF, sub-pixel information is considered in the proposed PSF estimation procedure. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is experimentally demonstrated.

  • Images obtained from underwater are usually degraded due to the environmental conditions. Some of the typical degradation factors include turbidity and color degradation. These degradations can be attributed to the absorptive and scattering properties of underwater degradation in terms of optical parameters, such as modulation transfer function (MTF), optical transfer function (OTF),point spread function (PSF), and color constancy. In this paper, we use the CODE V optical simulation software to mimic underwater conditions and model the imaging platform, thereby studying various parameters, such as PSF and MTF, and we use the PSF to remove the underwater turbidity. Experimental results show increased performance with the algorithm, compared to other existing methods.

  • We chose Bessel beamu[$J_o(ar)}$)l in order to investigate image forming property of the optical system with combined filter of amplitude and phase(CFAP). This paper investigated numerically the influence of number of nodes of these beams on the PSF, encircled energy(E), transmission ratio(TR), gain((;) for an aberrated(1aberration-free) optical system. These results showed that the property of PSF differ considerably from the one of the existing amplitude filter and that Bessel beam has super compensating effect for an optical system with spherical aberration. Particularly, the Bessel beam has less the size of central spot than the radius of Airy disk, this result can therefore be applied to the fabrication of semiconductor device.

  • Both of the isother mally and thermally stimulated surface potential decay characteristics(SPDC) have been investigated not only in corona charged polysulfone(PSF) which is one of heat resistant polymer, but also in corona charged polyethyleneterephthalate(PET) and polyfluoroethylene propylene(Teflon FEP) under the same experimental condition. PSF and PET shows similar SPDC in the high teperature region. Also the effect of polarity on SPDC observed from PSF and Teflon FEP shows almost the same phenomenon. From these results, we suggest that the mechanism on SPDC of PSF could be explained as the bulk conductivity from the characteristic analysis concerning PET and electron affivity from characteristic analysis concerning Teflon FEP.

  • The Pattern Sequence-based Forecasting (PSF) is an approach to forecast the behavior of time series based on similar pattern sequences. The innovation of PSF method is to convert the load time series into a label sequence by clustering technique in order to lighten computational burden. However, it brings about a new problem in determining the number of clusters and it is subject to insufficient similar days occasionally. In this paper we proposed an adaption of the PSF method, which introduces a new clustering index to determine the number of clusters and imposes a threshold to solve the problem caused by insufficient similar days. Our experiments showed that the proposed method reduced the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) about 15%, compared to the PSF method.
