This study was conducted to investigate the effect of gaseous chlorine dioxide ($ClO_2$) concentration and treatment method for maintaining marketability in strawberries 'Maehyang' for export. After harvesting strawberry colored with $60{\pm}5%$ of the skin, and the gaseous $ClO_2$ was applied as four treatments in the cold store set with $10^{\circ}C$ which were as follows: i) non-treatment (Control), ii) $0.2mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ for 30 minutes, iii) $0.4mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ for 30 minutes, and iv) continuously exposed at $0.4mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ during the storage period. Weight loss, firmness, soluble solids content, color, incidence of gray mold, and quality grade of strawberries were investigated every 3 days during 16 days storage in cold store. The weight loss was consistently high at $0.2mg{\cdot}L^{-1}\;ClO_2$ treatment, and the weight loss was lower than other treatments when gaseous $ClO_2$ was continuously treated. Firmness was significantly higher at 0.2 and $0.4mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$$ClO_2$ treatment on the 13th day of storage. Soluble solids content tended to below in continuous gaseous $ClO_2$ treatment. The colors showed no tendency as affected by concentrations and treatment methods of gaseous $ClO_2$. No gray mold was observed in the continuous gaseous $ClO_2$ treatment until the 13th day of storage. The quality grade was lower in gaseous $ClO_2$ treatment group than in the control. As a result, it was possible to decrease the weight loss and the incidence of gray mold by continuously treating the gaseous $ClO_2$ to strawberry 'Maehyang' for export during the storage period after harvest. However, further research is needed on method to maintain quality grades of fruits.

Relentless advances in information technology are constantly transforming market dynamics of the retail industry. RFID is an emerging innovative technology that can reduce labor costs, improve inventory control and increase sales by effective business processes. Apparel retailers need to recognize the benefits of RFID and identify critical success factors. By focusing on apparel retailers, this study attempts (1) to identify the reality of RFID associated with benefits; and (2) to prospect the implementation of RFID in apparel retailing. We conducted a focus group interview with selected six panels who were experts of retail industry in the United States to obtain data regarding RFID attributes. Content analysis was used to generate related excerpts and classify 31 attributes of RFID benefits from the meaningful 173 responses. For experience of RFID, retailers were familiar with RFID technology and expressed the belief that RFID basically would support an existing retail system for speed to markets. However, retailers addressed the level of experience with RFID technology that they were still in the early adoption stage among few innovative companies. The content analysis identified five dimensions of RFID benefits for apparel retailing: Visibility and Velocity, Revenue Enhancement, Customer Service, Security, and Employee Productivity. This result lends support to the belief that RFID has a significant potential to streamline supply chain management, store operation and customer service for apparel retailing. This study provides intellectual and managerial implications far practitioners and researchers by postulating the effective use of RFID in the apparel retail industry.
Spatial variation in the reproductive effort of Manila clam Ruditapes philippinarum is often closely associated with variation in the seawater temperature and food availability, which determines gonad maturity and the quantity of gamates produced during spawning. Previous studies also have reported that severe infection by the protozoan parasite Perkinsus olseni exerts a negative impact on clam reproduction, retarding gonad maturation or decreasing the reproductive effort. In the present study, we investigated impacts of P. olseni infection on the reproductive condition of Manila clam during a spawning season. Histology revealed that 54% of female clams in Wando off the south coast were in spawning, while only 10% of the female from Gomso and 0% of the female from Seonjaedo in Gyeonggi bay off the west coast were engaged in spawning at the end of May in 2004. Ray's fluid thioglycollate media (RFTM) assay was applied to assess P. olseni infection and indicated that the infection intensity in Wando ($3,608,000{\pm}258,000cells/g$ wet tissue) was significantly higher than the levels in Gomso ($1,305,000{\pm}106,000cells/g$ wet tissue) and Seonjaedo ($1,083,000{\pm}137,000cells/g$ wet tissue, p < 0.001). The size of the ripe female follicle determined from histology was significantly smaller in Wando ($0.032mm^2$) compared to the sizes in Gomso ($0.059mm^2$) and Seonjaedo ($0.052mm^2$, p < 0.05). Accordingly, the number of ripe eggs in the follicle was significantly fewer among clams in Wando (14) compared to the numbers determined in Gomso (23) and Seonjaedo (22). The absolute quantity of egg in ripe clams from Wando (31.01 mg) was also significantly smaller than Seonjaedo (61.79 mg) and Gomso (133.3 mg). Quantity of total protein, carbohydrate, and lipid in the tissue in the Wando samples was significantly smaller than the quantities determined in Gomso and Seonjaedo (p < 0.001). The observed poor reproductive condition and proximate tissue composition of the females in Wando were, in part, explained by the extremely high level of the parasites, sapping the ability to store energy in the host tissues, which is used in tissue growth and the egg production.
Among animals, the rabbit is known to be affected most sensitively by dietary changes and to be most susceptible to atherosclerosis. The exact reason is still unknown as to whether the primary cause is intrinsic (tissue itself) or extrinsic such as a blood factor which could be influenced by various dietary means. It is of utmost importance to check the nutritional quality of rabbit meat before it is accepted and adapted as a daily food item. To evaluate nutritional quality of rabbit meat, studies on various aspects of lipid components were carried out in comparison with other animal meats such as beef, pork and chicken also included in the study was the question whether the cooking and storage conditions influence the composition of fatty acids and cholesterol level. Some results and findings are listed below: 1. The content of linoleic acid (18 : 2), one of the essential fatty acids, was much higher in rabbit meat compared to the other meats. The Percentages of this Polyunsaturated fatty acids, was much higher in rabbit meat compared to the other meats. The percentages of this polyunsaturated fatty acid in terms of total fatty acids were $37.3{\pm}3.7$, 5.9, 14.5, and 21.9% for rabbit, beef, pork, and chicken respectively. The degree of unsaturation was high not only in meat but also in liver and adipose tissue of rabbit. The values of iodine number, the indication of degree of unsaturation, were known to be $102{\sim}107$, $32{\sim}47$, $46{\sim}67$, and $55{\sim}77$ for rabbit, beef, pork, and chicken respectively. Such a high proportion of this polyunsaturated fatty acid contained in rabbit meat could be harmful due to their Peroxidation effect. 2. A small amount of lower (short chain) fatty acids was isolated from rabbit tussues, which were not observed in other animal's tissues. The significance of this small amount of short chain fatty acids contained in rabbit meat remained an open question. 3. The concentration of total cholesterol in rabbit meat was similar to that of otherr but the content of esterified cholesterol was higher in rabbit meat. This was probably due to the perference of cholesterol to esterify with unsaturated fatty acids. By roasting the percentage of Polyunsaturated fatty acids was decreased while saturated palmitic acid was proportionally increased. 4 The composition of fatty acids were affected more by dry heat than moist heat. More research should be pursued to improve methods of preservation and storage to prevent possible peroxidation and rancidity problems of rabbit meat. In the meantime, the public should be informed to eat fresh rabbit meat and not to store it for a long period of time. This study was supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Korea.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to evaluate the differential mechnism of vasodilation of alcohol steamed Rhei Tangutici Radix et Rhizoma. (ART) and Rhei Tangutici Radix et Rhizoma. (RT) in rat thoracic aorta. Methods : Rat aortic ring preparations were mounted in organ baths with oxygenated (95% $O_2$-5% $CO_2$) Krebs-Ringer bicarbonate solutions at $37{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ and subjected to contractions or relaxations. Results : ART exerted vasorelaxation on phenylephrine(PE)-induced contraction in a dose dependent manner. Vasorelaxation effects of ART and RT were endothelium-independent. In the $Ca^{2+}$-free high KCl (60 mM) baths, the contraction of aortic rings induced by accumulative addition of $Ca^{2+}$ (0.3-10.0 mM) was significantly reduced by pre-treatment with both ART and RT for 10 min. The magnitude of vasodilatation was biggerin ART. Moreover, verapamil ($0.001{\mu}M$) and diltiazem ($10{\mu}M$), voltage operative $Ca^{2+}$channel blockers, attenuated the relaxation effect of ART but not that of RT. In the absence of extracellular $Ca^{2+}$, pre-incubation of the aortic rings with RT ($1.0mg/m{\ell}$) significantly reduced the contraction caused by PE but not that of ART. $K^+$ channel inhibitors such as glibenclamide (Gli, $10^{-5}M$), tetraethylammonium (TEA, 1 mM) and 4-aminopyridine (4-AP, 0.2 mM) significantly reduced the ART's vasorelaxation efficacy, but not that of RT. However, the relaxation effects of ART and RT were not inhibited by pre-treatment with indomethacin ($10^{-5}M$), and atropine ($10^{-6}M$). Conclusions : These results suggest that the endothelium-independent relaxation is due to inhibition of $Ca^{2+}$ influx via the suppression of $Ca^{2+}$ release from intracelluar store in RT but via both voltage operative $Ca^{2+}$channel blockage and $K^+$ channel activation in ART.
It is a general trend everywhere that the uses of vegetable oils are increasing due to the fact that they are effective in curing and preventing symptoms of high blood pressure and various heart failure conditions. At the same time the concept that oxidative rancidity is caused by the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acid moieties whose subsequent decomposition gives rise to various undesirable, sometimes toxic compounds is now well accepted. Linolenic acid (C, 18:3) is one of highly unsaturated and readily oxidizable fatty acid. The content of this essential polyunsaturated fatty acid in perilla seed oil (PSO) was found to be as high as 48% while only 1.5% in sesame seed oil (SSO). In this experiment the oxidative stability of PSO was compared with that of SSO. The experimental test group were as follows: A) Stored at different temperatures, namely $4^{\circ}C,\;30^{\circ}C,$ and $60^{\circ}C,$ B) Stored at room temperature $(20{\pm}5^{\circ}C)$ ; a. protected from sunlight and air, b. exposed to air without sunlight c. exposed to sunlight but protected front air, d. completely exposed to both air and sunlight. The following results were obtained; 1) It was found to be most stable against oxidation to store both PSO and SSO under the low temperature $(4^{\circ}C)$ condition. According to P.V. measurements it was found to be safe to keep both oils up to $30^{\circ}C$ for at least 8 weeks. When exposed to air, sunlight and high temperature $(60^{\circ}C)$, P.V. of PSO reached there peak values, which were much higher than those of SSO. This explains much of its instability as compared to SSO against oxidation. 2) The effect of high temperature $(60^{\circ}C)$ on A.V. was found to be more striking than those of all the other storage conditions. The condition of refrigeration was most effective in keeping A.V. low for both oils as was the case in P.V. 3) For both oils, I.V. decreased throughout the experimental period (8 weeks). The range of decrement was larger for PSO than SSO. 4) There was no significant change in the compositions of fatty acids of SSO caused by various experimental storage conditions. But for PSO the compositions of stearic, oleic and linoleic acid were decreased, whereas linolenic acid was increased proportionally.

Oranges (Citrus unshiu var.) from local orchards at Seogwi, Daejeong, Hanrim, Cheju and Seongsan where are in the southern, southwestern, northwestern, northern and eastern parts of Cheju island respectively were stored in a semi-underground room and an air-circulating refrigerated store. To compare the storage qualities between the growing districts, changes in freshness, acidity and sugar content of oranges were investigated during storage. 1) Oranges from Seogwi and Cheju districts showed remarkably lower Percentage of rot fruits with no relation of storage temperature than those of Hanrim, Daejeong and Seongsan. 2) Browning of oil gland was severe on oranges of northern and southern districts while it was little developed in case of the other districts. 3) Water soluble total sugar content was gradually increased and titratable acidity and reducing sugar content of pulp tissues was decreased during storage. 4) Oranges from the western part showed the higher ratio of sugar content to acidity and better taste as compared with the east oranges.

In the modern electronic world, the authentication of a person is an important task in many areas of online-transactions. Using biometrics to authenticate a person's identity has several advantages over the present practices of Personal Identification Numbers(PINs) and passwords. To gain maximum security in the verification system using biometrics, the computation of the verification as well as the store of the biometric pattern has to be taken place in the security token(smart card, USB token). However, there is an open issue of integrating biometrics into the security token because of its limited resources(memory space, processing power). In this paper, we describe our implementation of the USB security token system having 206MHz StrongARM CPU, 16MBytes flash memory, and 1MBytes RAM. Also, we evaluate the performance of a light-weighted In-gerprint verification algorithm that can be executed in the restricted environments. Based on experimental results, we confirmed that the RAM requirement of the proposed algorithm was about 6.8 KBytes and the Equal Error Rate(EER) was 1.7%.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of scatter correction on the assessment of myocardial perfusion and left ventricular function by gated Tc-99m myocardial SPECT. Materials and Methods: Subjects were 11 normal volunteers, 20 patients with non-cardiac chest pain and 13 patients with coronary artery diseases. We classified above 3 groups into normal and diseased groups. Scatter correction was done using dual-energy-window scatter correction method (DEW-SC). We compared acquired counts, image contrast, corrected maximum relative counts, indices of left ventricular function, extent and severity of perfusion defects calculated by 'CEqual program' between scatter non-corrected and corrected images. Results: Scatter corrected studios was lower in counts by $18{\pm}3%$ than uncorrected studies, but image contrast were improved in all cases. Scatter correction using DEW-SC took 3 minutes to complete, and 512 kB memory to store. There were no significant differences among indices of left ventricular function between scatter non-corrected and corrected images. Although extents of perfusion defects were not significantly different, severity was severer in scatter corrected images. Conclusion: Scatter correction using DEW-SC is simple to do, and improves image contrast without changing other indices of myocardial perfusion and function.

Objectives: Many types of liver diseases can damage regenerative potential of mature hepatocytes, hepatic progenitor cells or oval cells. In such cases, a stem cell-based therapy can be an alternative therapeutic option. We examined whether human amnion-derived mesenchymal stem cells (HAM) and human umbilical cord-derived stem cells (HUC) could differentiate into hepatocyte-like cells as therapeutic cells for the liver diseases. Methods: HAM and HUC were isolated from the amnion and umbilical cord of the volunteers after a caesarean section with informed consent. In order to differentiate these cells into hepatocyte-like cells, cells were cultivated in hepatogenic medium using culture plates coated with fibronectin. Effects of hepatocyte growth factor, L-ascorbic acid 2-phosphate, insulin premixture fibroblast growth gactor 4, dimethylsulfoxide, oncostatin M and/or dexamethasone were examined on the hepatic differentiation. After differentiation, the cells were analyzed by RT-PCR, immunocytochemistry, immunoblotting, albumin ELISA, urea assay and periodic acid-schiffs staining. Results: Initial fibroblast-like appearance of HAM and HUC changed to a round shape during culture in the hepatogenic medium. However, in all hepatogenic conditions examined, HUC secreted more amounts of albumin or urea into medium than HAM. Expression of some of hepatocyte-specific genes increased and expression of new genes were observed in HUC following cultivation in hepatogenic medium. Results of immunocytochemistry and immunoblotting analyses demonstrated that HUC secreted albumin into the culture medium. PAS staining further demonstrated that HUC could store glycogen inside of the cells. Conclusions: Both HUC and HAM could differentiate into albumin-secreting, hepatocyte-like cells. Under the same hepatogenic conditions examined, HUC more efficiently differentiated into hepatocyte-like cells compared with the HAM. The results suggest that HUC and HAM could be used as sources of stem cells for the cell-based therapeutics such as in liver diseases.

제 18 조 (손해배상)
당 사이트는 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 관련하여 회원에게 어떠한 손해가 발생하더라도 당 사이트가 고의 또는 과실로 인한 손해발생을 제외하고는 이에 대하여 책임을 부담하지 아니합니다.
제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.

1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
