  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the characteristics of Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) for the realization of high-sensitivity radiation detection in portable detectors. Portable X-ray detectors offer the advantage of quickly accessing the patient's location and obtaining real-time images, allowing physicians to perform rapid diagnoses. However, this mobility comes with challenges in achieving accurate radiation detection. In existing detectors, SiPM is used for a simple purpose of detecting X-ray triggers. To verify the feasibility of high-sensitivity X-ray detection through SiPM, seven types of SiPM sensors were compared and selected, and their characteristics were analyzed. The SiPM used in the final test demonstrated the ability to distinguish signals at the ultra-low radiation level of 10 nGy, and it was observed that the slope of the signal rise curve varies with the X-ray tube voltage. Utilizing the characteristics of SiPM, which exhibits changes in signal level and duration with X-ray dose, it appears possible to achieve high-sensitivity measurements for X-ray detection.

  • In this paper, the 2.4GHz doppler radar system consisting of the doppler radar module and a baseband module were designed to detect heartbeat and respiration signal without direct skin contact. A bio-radar system emits continuous RF signal of 2.4GHz toward human chest, and then detects the reflected signal so as to investigate cardiopulmonary activities. The heartbeat and respiration signals acquired from quadrature signal of the doppler radar system are applied to the pre-processing circuit, amplification circuit, and the offset circuit of the baseband module. ECG(electrocardiogram) and reference respiration signals are measured simultaneously to evaluate the doppler radar system. As a result, the respiration signal of doppler radar signal is detected to 1m without complex digital signal processing. The sensitivity and calculated from I/Q respiration signal were $98.29{\pm}1.79%$, $97.11{\pm}2.75%$, respectively, and positive predictivity were $98.11{\pm}1.45%$, $92.21{\pm}10.92%$, respectively. The sensitivity and positive predictivity calculated from phase and magnitude of the doppler radar were $95.17{\pm}5.33%$, $94.99{\pm}5.43%$, respectively. In this paper, we confirmed that noncontact real-time heartbeat and respiration detection using the doppler radar system has the possibility and limitation.

  • In this study, we tried to improve the reproducibility of signal intensity by applying DOTS method. The study was conducted on 30 patients who had undergone hepatic screening because of poor reproducibility and decreased signal intensity. The images were acquired before and after injection of contrast media and then post-processed by DOTS methods. Signal intensity was compared and evaluated. The results showed that the signal intensity of the images was 183.3% ($1038.0{\pm}70.7$ before application, $2940.7{\pm}179.6$ after application) and 1118.4% ($444.1{\pm}92.4$, $5410.5{\pm}168.4$ after application). This is a significant improvement in the fact that the reproducibility of MRI) was changed by the DOTS method, which is a post-processing method.

  • Respiratory signal is one of the important physiological information indicating the status and function of the body. Recent studies have provided the possibility of being able to estimate the respiratory signal by using a change of PWV(pulse width variability), PRV(pulse rate variability) and PAV(pulse amplitude variability) in the PPG (photoplethysmography) signal during daily life. But, it is not clear whether the respiratory monitoring is possible even during sleep. Therefore, in this paper, we estimated the respiration from PWV, PRV and PAV of PPG signals during sleep. In addition, respiration rates of the estimated respiration signal were calculated through a time-frequency analysis, and errors between respiration rates calculated from each parameter and from reference signal were evaluated in terms of 1 sec, 10 sec and 1 min. As a result, it showed the errors in PWV(1s: $36.38{\pm}37.69$ mHz, 10s: $36.53{\pm}38.16$ mHz, 60s: $30.35{\pm}38.72$ mHz), in PRV(1s: $1.45{\pm}1.38$ mHz, 10s: $1.44{\pm}1.37$ mHz, 60s: $0.45{\pm}0.56$ mHz), and in PAV(1s: $1.05{\pm}0.81$ mHz, 10s: $1.05{\pm}0.79$ mHz, 60s: $0.56{\pm}0.93$ mHz). The errors in PRV and PAV are lower than that of PWV. Finally, we concluded that PRV and PAV are more effective than PWV in monitoring the respiration in daily life as well as during sleep.

  • With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, the technologies based on the diverse digital modulation schemes have been used for the frequency range of over 800 MHz. The only radiation immunity has been tested using only AM signal based on IEC 61000-4-3 without any consideration of the influence of electromagnetic radiation in Korea. However, it has not been tested by wideband digital modulation signals such as cdmaone(IS-95), WCDMA and PM signal. The purpose of this study was to review the standards. In addition, the input signals were analyzed and tested considering the environments in Korea. The results showed that the devices were influenced by digital modulation signal or PM signal more than by AM signal.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the variability of components of the vertical ground reaction force signal to seek the suitable number of attempt datum to be analyzed during running at 2m/s and 4m/s. For this study, six subjects (height mean:$174.5{\pm}4.4cm$, weight $671.5{\pm}116.4N.$, age:$25.0{\pm}yrs.$) were selected and asked to run at least 3 times each run condition randomly. FFT(fast Fourier transform) was used to analyze the frequency domain analysis of the vertical ground reaction forces signal and an accumulated PSD (power spectrum density) was calculated to reconstruct the certain signal. To examine the deviation of the vertical ground reaction between signals collected from an different number of attempt, variability of frequency, magnitude of passive peak, time up to the passive peak and maximum load rate were determined in a coefficient of variance. The variability analysis revealed that when analyze the vertical reaction force components at 2m/s speed running, which belongs to slow pace relatively, it would be good to calculate these components from signal of one attempt, but 4m/s speed running needs data collected from two attempts to decrease the deviation of signal between attempts. In summary, when analyzing the frequency and passive peak of the vertical reaction force signal during the fast run, it should be considered the number of attempt.

  • In this study, we showed a comparison and analysis making use of DWI(diffusion weighted image) using early diagnosis of cerebral Infarction and with the classified T2 weighted image, FLAIR images signal intensity for brain infarction period. period of cerebral infarction after the condition of a disease by ischemic stroke. To compare 3 types of image, we performed polynomial warping and affined transform for image matching. Using proposed algorithm, calculated signal intensity difference between T2WI, DWI, FLAIR and DWI. The quantification values between hand made and calculated data are almost the same. We quantified the each period and performed pseudo color mapping by comparing signal intensity each other according to previously obtained hand made data, and compared the result of this paper according to obtained quantified data to that of doctors decision. The examined mean and standard deviation for each brain infarction stage are as follows ; the means and standard deviations of signal intensity difference between DWI and T2WI for each period are $197.7{\pm}6.9$ in hyperacute, $110.2{\pm}5.4$ in acute, and $67.8{\pm}7.2$ in subacute. And the means and standard deviations of signal intensity difference between DWI and FLAIR for each period are $199.8{\pm}7.5$ in hyperacute, $115.3{\pm}8.0$ in acute, and $70.9{\pm}5.8$ in subacute. We can quantificate and decide cerebral infarction period objectively. According to this study, DWI is very exact for early diagnosis. We classified the period of infarction occurrence to analyze the region of disease and normal region in DW, T2WI, FLAIR images.

  • It is presented that sampling rates for behavioral modeling of quasi-memory less nonlinear devices can be far less than the Nyquist rate of the input signal. Although it has been believed that the sampling rate of nonlinear device modeling should be at least the Nyquist rate of the output signal, this paper suggests that far less than the Nyquist rate of the input signal can be applied to the modeling of quasi-memoryless nonlinear devices, such as frequency multipliers. To verify, a QPSK signal at 820 MHz were applied to a frequency tripler, whereby the device can be utilized as an up-converting mixer into 2.46 GHz with the aid of digital predistortion. AM-AM, AM-PM and PM-PM can be successfully measured regardless of sampling rates.

  • In this study, we have evaluated the effect of amplitude and frequency perturbation of EGG signal for single vowels associated with laryngeal pathology. The normal EGG signal was properly characterized by an autoregressive model which has an optimal order of ninth using the parametric method. This can be analyzed by determining the transfer function. Perturbations in the fundamental pitch and in the peak amplitude of EGG signal measured with a four-electrode system using the modulation/demodulation techniques were investigated for the purpose of developing a decision criteria for the laryngeal function analysis. The abnormal EGG signal has nonperiodic and unstable characteristics. It can be discriminated by the calculation of opening and closing time of glottis using the EGG signal. In case of normal and abnormal subjects, m$\pm$0.5*sd was discriminating line for frequency perturbation and m$\pm$2*sd for normal amplitude perturbations, respectively. Also, The normal and abnormal cases of the subjects can be discriminated effectively using the pattern of attractor derived with Hilbert transform of EGG signal.

  • To compare body signal, was designed the F-B function system on the body movement for the comfortable state. To detect subject of the normal state, was decided on the base of physical signal in the body movement. There are to detect the condition of Vision, Vestibular, Somatosensory and CNS. Vision condition was verified a variation of greater average (Vi-${\Phi}_{AVG-AVG}$) was presented slightly greater at $17.424{\pm}9.65$ unit. Vestibular condition was identified a variation of slightly greater average (Ve-${\Phi}_{AVG-AVG}$) was presented at $9.068{\pm}1.478$ unit. Somatosensory condition was checked a variation of smaller average (So-${\Phi}_{AVG-AVG}$) was presented slightly smaller at $2.79{\pm}0.419$ unit. CNS condition was confirmed a variation of diminutive smaller average (C-${\Phi}_{AVG-AVG}$) was presented slightly larger at $0.557{\pm}0.153$ unit. As the model depends on the F-B function system of body movement, average values of these perturbation were computed F-B function comparison data. These systems will be to infer a data algorithm and a data signal processing system for the evaluation of the stability.
