  • In this paper we suggest a group key agreement protocol among a group consisting more than 3 PKIs. From an 128 bit message, we produce a group key to any length size using a hash function. With a computer experiment we found that PKI's encryption/decryption time is the most dominant part of this procedure and an 160 bit ECC PKI is the most efficient system for distributing an 128 bit message in practical level. We implement this procedure over an unsecure multi user chatting system which is an open software. And we also show that this suggestion could be practically used in military business without a hardware implementation.

  • With the development of Information Communication Technique, electronic commerce using PKIs is widely used over the Internet. The goal of access control is to counter the threat of unauthorized operations involving Web-server or data base systems. The RBAC(Role-Based Access Control) has recently received considerable attention as a promising alternative to traditional discretionary and mandatory access controls. In this paper we propose two methods, the RBAC system using attribute certificates and the RBAC system using SPKI certificates. And we analyze and compare the two methods.

  • The notion of a certificate was introduced by Kohnfelder in his 1978 MIT bachelor's thesis. The idea, now common, was that a certificate is a digitally signed statement binding the key-holder's name to a public key. With the increasing acceptance of digital certificate, there has been a gaining impetus for methods to nullify the compromised digital certificates and enable the end user to receive this information before be trusts a revoked certificate. The problem of certificate revocation is getting more and more crucial with the development of wide spread PKIs. In this paper, we investigate recent trend of certificate revocation mechanism.

  • As both a digital camera and a digital camcorder are popularized in recent years, UCC created by general users is also popularized. Unfortunately, according to that, the lack of privacy is also increasing more and more. The UCC is saved on the recordable media(Media) like DVD and deposited personally as well as distributed through Internet portal service. If you use Internet portal service to put up your contents, you can partially prevent the violation of privacy using security technologies such as authentication and illegal copy protection offered by internet portal service providers. Media also has technologies to control illegal copy. However, it is difficult to protect your privacy if your Media having personal contents is stolen or lost. Therefore, it is necessary to develope an additional security mechanism to guarantee privacy protection when you use Media. In this paper, we describe AACS framework for Media Security and propose improved AACS framework to control the access to personal contents saved on Media.

  • Revocation is one of the main difficulties faced in implementing Public Key Infrastructures(PHs). Boneh, Ding and Tsudik first introduced a mediated cryptography for obtaining immediate revocation of RSA keys used in PKIs. Their method is based on the idea that each user's private key can be split into two random shares, one of which is given to the user and the other to an online security mediator(SEM). Thus any signature or decryption must be performed as a cooperation between a user and his/her associated SEM and revocation is achieved by instructing the mediator SEM to stop cooperating the user. Recently, Libert and Quisquater showed that the fast revocation method using a SEcurity Mediator(SEM) in a mRSA can be applied to the Boneh-Franklin identify based encryption and GDH signature schemes. In this paper we propose a mediated identity based signature(mIBS) with batch verification which apply the SEM architecture to an identity based signature. Libert's GDH siganture scheme is not forward secure even though forward security is an important and desirable feature for signature schemes. We propose an efficient key udating mediated signature scheme, mKUS based on mIBS and analyze its security and efficiency.
