SOME RESULTS ON STRONG π-REGULARITY

  • We will introduce some properties of strongly reduced near-rings and the notion of left $\pi$-regular near-ring. Also, we will study for right $\pi$-regular, strongly left $\pi$-regular, strongly right $\pi$-regular and strongly $\pi$- regular. Next, we may characterize the strongly $\pi$-regular near-rings with related strong reducibility.

N-메틸루티돈의 루미네센스에 관한 연구 (Luminescence Studies of N-Methyllutidone, an Unusually High Triplet Energy Sensitizer)

  • $77^{\circ}C$K 에탄올 매트릭스에서 N-메틸루티돈의 발광에 대한 연구를 하였다. 형광은 관찰되지 않았으나 양자 수득률이 0.1과 수명 0.2초의 강한 인광이 관찰되었다. 인광의 0-0 띠로부터 이 화물합의 삼중상태 에너지가 85.1kcal/mole임을 알았으며 2-헥센, 트란스-1,4-디클로로부텐-2와 같은 높은 삼중상태 에너지를 가진 올레핀들이 N-메틸루티돈에 의해 효과적으로 시스${\leftrightarrow}$트란스광이성질화 반응을 일으키는 것으로 보아 이 높은 삼중상태 에너지가 정당함을 알 수 있다. 0-0띠의 polarization이 음의 값을 갖는 것으로 부터 발광상태가 $({\pi},{\pi})^3$ 상태임을 알 수 있다. LiCl과 같은 알카리염의 양이온과 N-메틸루티돈이 배위결합을 함으로써 $({\pi},{\pi})^3$$(n,{\pi})^3$상태 사이의 에너지 차이가 크게 되기 때문에 알카리 금속염은 인광의 세기를 증가시킨다.

Comparative Analysis of Integer-order and Fractional-order Proportional Integral Speed Controllers for Induction Motor Drive Systems

  • Linear proportional-integral (PI) controllers are an attractive choice for controlling the speed of induction machines because of their simplicity and ease of implementation. Fractional-order PI (FO-PI) controllers, however, perform better than PI controllers because of their nonlinear nature and the underlying iso-damping property of fractional-order operators. In this work, an FO-PI controller based on the proposed first-order plus dead-time induction motor model and integer-order (IO) controllers, such as Ziegler-Nichols PI, Cohen-Coon PI, and a PI controller tuned via trial-and-error method, is designed. Simulation and experimental investigation on an indirect field-oriented induction motor drive system proves that the proposed FO-PI controller has better speed tracking, lesser settling time, better disturbance rejection, and lower speed tracking error compared with linear IO-PI controllers. Our experimental study also validates that the FO-PI controller maximizes the torque per ampere output of the induction machine and can effectively control the motor at low speed, in field-weakening regions, and under detuned conditions.

MiR-374b Promotes Proliferation and Inhibits Apoptosis of Human GIST Cells by Inhibiting PTEN through Activation of the PI3K/Akt Pathway

  • Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. In order to investigate a new treatment fot GIST, we hypothesized the effect of miR-374b targeting PTEN gene-mediated PI3K/Akt signal transduction pathway on proliferation and apoptosis of human gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) cells. We obtained GIST tissues and adjacent normal tissues from 143 patients with GIST to measure the levels of miR-374b, PTEN, PI3K, Akt, caspase9, Bax, MMP2, MMP9, ki67, PCNA, P53 and cyclinD1. Finally, cell viability, cell cycle and apoptosis were detected. According to the KFGG analysis of DEGs, PTEN was involved in a variety of signaling pathways and miRs were associated with cancer development. The results showed that MiR-374b was highly expressed, while PTEN was downregulated in the GIST tissues. The levels of miR-374b, PI3K, AKT and PTEN were related to tumor diameter and pathological stage. Additionally, miR-374b increased the mRNA and protein levels of PI3K, Akt, MMP2, MMP9, P53 and cyclinD1, suggesting that miR-374b activates PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in GIST-T1 cells. Moreover, MiR374b promoted cell viability, migration, invasion, and cell cycle entry, and inhibited apoptosis in GIST cells. Taken together, the results indicated that miR-374b promotes viability and inhibits apoptosis of human GIST cells by targeting PTEN gene through the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Thus, this study provides a new potential target for GIST treatment.

  • For any $K$ > $2/{\pi}$ we determine the optimal constant $L(K)$ for which the following holds. If $u$, $tilde{u}$ are conjugate harmonic functions on the unit disc with $\tilde{u}(0)=0$, then $$ {\int}_{-\pi}^{\pi}{\mid}\tilde{u}(e^{i\phi}){\mid}\frac{d{\phi}}{2{\pi}}{\leq}K{\int}_{-\pi}^{\pi}{\mid}u(e^{i{\phi}}){\mid}{\log}^+{\mid}u(e^{i{\phi}}){\mid}\frac{d{\phi}}{2{\pi}}+L(K).$$ We also establish a related estimate for orthogonal harmonic functions given on Euclidean domains as well as an extension concerning orthogonal martingales under differential subordination.

세포 이동에서 PI3K 억제제인 LY294002의 효과 (Effect of a PI3K inhibitor LY294002 on cell migration)

  • Cell migration is essential for diverse cellular processes including wound healing, immune response, development, and cancer metastasis. Pi3-kinase (PI3K) is a key regulator for actin cytoskeleton and phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol (4,5)-diphosphate (PIP2) to phosphatidylinositol (3,4,5)-trisphosphate (PIP3). High levels of PIP3 by PI3Ks are associated with increased levels of F-actin and pseudopod extension at the leading edge of migrating cells such as neutrophils and Dictyostelium. LY294002 is a well-known PI3K specific inhibitor. Here, we investigated the effect of LY294002 on cell migration. First, we evaluated the appropriate concentration of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) for using as a solvent for LY294002. DMSO is a highly polar organic reagent and one of the most common solvent for organic and inorganic chemicals. Cell morphology and cell migration were unaffected at the concentrations less than 0.1 % DMSO. Therefore, stock solution of LY294002 was prepared so that the final concentration of DMSO was 0.1 % or less when treated. When cells were treated with LY294002, cell migration was increased in a concentration-dependent manner. The maximum speed was detected in the presence of 30 µM LY294002. These results suggest that PI3Ks play a inhibitory role in regulating cell migration in our experimental conditions.

Roles of PI3K and Rac pathways in H-ras induced invasion and motility

  • Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) and Rac play important roles that regulate cellular functions including cell survival and migration. In the present study, we investigated the functional roles of PI3K and Rac1 pathways in H-ras-induced invasive phenotype and motility of MCF10A cells. Akt, a downstream molecule of PI3K, was effectively activated not only by H-ras but also by N-ras, suggesting that the activation of PI3K pathway is not sufficient to induce metastatic potential of MCF10A cells. Potential Targets for Prevention of Colorectal Cancer: a Focus on PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Wnt Pathways

  • Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common cancers in many parts of the world. Its development is a multi-step process involving three distinct stages, initiation that alters the molecular message of a normal cell, followed by promotion and progression that ultimately generates a phenotypically altered transformed malignant cell. Reports have suggested an association of the phosphoinositide-3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway with colon tumorigenesis. Activation of Akt signaling and impaired expression of phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) (a negative regulator of Akt) has been reported in 60-70% of human colon cancers and inhibitors of PI3K/Akt signaling have been suggested as potential therapeutic agents. Around 80% of human colon tumors possess mutations in the APC gene and half of the remainder feature ${\beta}$-catenin gene mutations which affect downstream signaling of the PI3K/Akt pathway. In recent years, there has been a great focus in targeting these signaling pathways, with natural and synthetic drugs reducing the tumor burden in different experiment models. In this review we survey the role of PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Wnt signaling in CRC.

PI3K, Akt, p38을 포함한 인산화단백질에 대한 Cordycepin의 억제효과 (The Inhibitory Effects of Cordycepin on Phosphoproteins including PI3K, Akt, and p38)

  • 진균 속에 속하는 종인 Cordyceps는 중국의 전통약제로서, 그 유효성분인 cordycepin이 혈소판 응집에 관여한다는 보고가 있지만 phosphoprotein 조절에 관련된 연구는 미흡하다. 본 연구에서는, cordycepin이 fibrinogen binding에 관여한다고 알려진 PI3k/Akt와 $TXA_2$ 분비 및 과립방출에 관여한다고 알려진 p38와 같은 phosphoprotein의 인산화를 어떻게 조절하며 혈소판응집을 억제시키는지 규명하고자 하였다. 그 결과, cordycepin가 $261.1{\mu}M$$IC_{50}$으로 collagen이 유도한 혈소판 응집을 강력하게 억제하였고, PI3K와 Akt의 인산화를 감소시키며 ${\alpha}IIb/{\beta}_3$에 대한 fibrinogen 결합을 농도의존적으로 억제하였다. 또한, cordycepin은 collagen이 촉진시킨 p38의 인산화를 억제함으로써, 과립방출의 지표인 ATP 과 serotonin의 방출을 억제하였고 COX-1과 TXAS의 활성 및 $PLC-{\gamma}_2$ 인산화에 대한 영향없이 $TXA_2$ 생성량을 감소시켰다. 따라서, cordycepin은 PI3K/Akt, p38와 같은 phosphoprotein의 인산화를 억제함으로써 혈소판 응집억제를 나타내는 항혈전 치료 및 예방약물로서 유용한 가치가 있다고 여겨진다.
