Performance Improvement on Cycloconverter-fed Induction Motor Speed Control System (공침법을 이용한 PbTiO3-Polymer O-3 압전 Composites)

  • The cycloconverter operating on a circulating current-free mode has many zero crossing points. If an exact zero crossing points are not detected, the three phase-unbalanced currents will flow in a motor. In this paper, the current feedback using a current reference wave is proposed to improve the problems of zero crossing detection, three phase-unbalanced voltages, currents, and torgue ripples. To prevent the saturation of the air gap flux and keep the torque constant, the constant voltage / hertz control with IR compensation is adopted. The PI-controller is designed using the linearized model of the cycloconverterinduction motor system. Alsi, Z-80A single board computer has been used to implement the proposed scheme which results in the performance improvement of cycloconterter-fed induction motor speed control system.

  • In this paper, a systematical controller design method for a twostage grid-connected photovoltaic power conditioning system is proposed. For a pre-stage boost converter to achieve the stable operation in the entire region of solar array, the digital resistive current mode controller is used. This algorithm is very simple to implement with a digital controller and there is no power stage parameter dependency in the controller design. For a post-stage single-phase full-bridge inverter, a PI controller with a feedforward compensation for the inner current control is employed. Furthermore, in case that the operating point of the solar array under varying environmental conditions is higher than the required voltage for the inverter current control, the bypass mode for the boost converter is possible for the more efficient operation. The proposed control scheme is validated through the experiment of the prototype two-stage power conditioning system hardware with a 200W solar array.

  • In order to regulate the cutting force at a desired level during peripheral end milling processes, a feedrate override Adaptive Control Constant system was developed. This paper presents an explicit pole-assignment PI-control law through spindle motor current monitoring and its application to cutting force regulation for feedrate optimization. An experimental set-up is constructed for the commercial CNC machining center without any major changes of the structure. A data transfer system is constructed with standard interface between an IBM compatible PC and a CNC of the machining center. Experimental results show the validity of the system.

  • In this paper, we inject input currents having $3^{rd}$ harmonic to reduce the capacitance of DC link capacitors in single-phase converters. If the input current with third harmonic is injected, the required capacitance can be reduced by minimizing the difference between the input and output power. To control the input current, instead of PI control done in rotating frame, PR controller is used with the proposed separate current control method for fundamental and $3^{rd}$ harmonic components. The validity of the proposed method has been demonstrated by simulation results.

  • 새로운 에너지원의 도입 필요성이 증가함에 따라 인버터를 통한 직류전원의 계통 연계에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 간섭성분 및 계통 전압을 전향 보상하여 전류 제어기를 구성하는 고전적인 기법은 시스템 파라미터의 불확실성에 대해 원하는 성능을 얻기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 PI 관측기를 이용한 추가 보상을 통해 파라미터 불확실성에 대한 강인성을 증가시키는 방법을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, we propose a charge pump phase-locked loop (PLL) with multi-PFD which is composed of a sequential phase frequency detector(PFD) and a precharge PFD. When the Phase difference is within - $\pi$$\pi$ , operation frequency can be increased by using precharge PFD. When the phase difference is larger than │ $\pi$ │, acquisition time can be shorten by the additional control circuit with increased charge pump current. Therefore a high frequency operation, a fast acquisition and an unlimited error detection range can be achieved.

  • In many industrial applications that use the electric motors robust controllers are needed. The method using a neural network in order to design a robust controller when a disturbance occurs is studied. Backpropagation algorithm, which is used in a conventional neural network controller is used in many areas, but when the number of neurons in the input layer, hidden layer and output layer of the neural network increases the processing speed of the learning process is slow. In this paper an adaptive PI(Proportional and Integral) controller based on CTRNN(Continuous Time Recurrent Neural Network) for permanent magnet synchronous motors is presented. By varying the load and the speed the validity of the proposed method is verified through simulation and experiments.

The Interfacial Electronic Structure of Organic-organic Heterojunction: Effect of Molecular Orientation

  • The orientation of the constituent molecules in organic thin film devices can affect significantly their performance due to the highly anisotropic nature of ${\pi}$-conjugated molecules. We report here an angle dependent x-ray absorption study of the control of such molecular orientation using well-ordered interlayers for the case of a bilayer heterojunction of chloroaluminum phthalocyanine (ClAlPc) and C60. Furthermore, the orientation-dependent energy level alignment of the same bilayer heterojunction has been measured in detail using synchrotron radiation-excited photoelectron spectroscopy. Regardless of the orientation of the organic interlayer, we find that the subsequent ClAlPc tilt angle improves the ${\pi}-{\pi}$ interaction at the interface, thus leading to an improved short-circuit current in photovoltaic devices based on ClAlPc/C60. The use of the interlayers does not change the effective band gap at the ClAlPc/C60 heterointerface, resulting in no change in open-circuit voltage.

  • This paper introduces a design and a simulation of a hybrid active power filter (HAPF) for harmonics reduction given an ideal supply source. The synchronous reference frame method has been used here to identify the reference currents. The proposed HAPF uses a new artificial- intelligence technique called Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for tuning the parameters of a proportional and integral controller called PI-PSO. The PI-PSO controller is used to archive optimality for the DC-link voltage of the HAPF-inverter. The hysteresis non-linear current control method is used in this approach to compare the extracted reference and the actual currents in order to generate the pulse gate required for the HAPF. Results obtained by simulations with Matlab/Simuling show that the proposed approach is very flexible and effective for eliminating harmonic currents generated by the non-linear load with the HAPF based PSO tuning.

  • This paper describes a new sensorless speed control method for permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) using direct torque control(DTC). The direct torque control offers fast torque response, lesser hardware and processing costs as compared to vector controlled drives. In this paper the current error compensation technique is applied for sensorless speed control of synchronous motor. Through this method, the controlled stator voltage is applied to the synchronous motor so that the error between stator currents of the mathematical model and the actual motor can be forced to decay to zero as time proceeds and therefore, the motor speed approaches to the setting value. Especially, any PI controllers are not necessary in this control method. The simulation results indicate good speed and load responses from the low speed range to the high.
