불규칙 가진을 받는 포화 진동계의 응답제어에 관한 확률밀도 추정 (Approximate Probability Density for the Controlled Responses of Randomly Excited Saturated Oscillator)

  • 제어기 포화를 고려한 비선형 제어 알고리듬은 폭넓게 연구되었으나 비선형성과 확률밀도함수(PDF)의 해석해가 존재하지 않기 때문에 알고리듬의 확률적 연구가 미진하여 왔다. 본 연구에서는, 제어기포화를 고려한 비선형 제어 알고리듬의 확률적 해석 방법이 등가 비선형 시스템 방법에 기초하여 제안되었다. 가우시안 백색잡음과 Kanai-Tagimi 필터통과 백색잡음에 의한 구조물 응답에 대하여 제안된 PDF 근사식을 이용하여 얻어진 결과를 통계적으로 얻어진 구조물 응답 PDF와 비교하여 정확성을 검증하였다.

  • The accurate peak response estimation of a seismically excited structure with frictional damping system(FDS) is very difficult since the structure with FDS shows nonlinear behavior dependent on the structural period, loading characteristics, and relative magnitude between the frictional force and the excitation load. Previous studies have estimated that by replacing a nonlinear system with an equivalent linear one or by employing the response spectrum obtained based on nonlinear time history and statistical analysis. In the case that on earthquake load is defined with probabilistic characteristics, the corresponding response of the structure with FDS has probabilistic distribution. In this study, nonlinear time history analyses were performed for the structure with FDS subjected to artificial earthquake loads generated using Kanai-Tajimi filter. An equation for the probability density function (PDF) of the displacement response is proposed by adapting the PDF of the normal distribution. Finally, coefficients of the proposed PDF is obtained by regression analysis of the statistical distribution of the time history responses. Finally, the correlation between PDFs and statistical response distribution is presented.

Probabilistic assessment on the basis of interval data

  • Uncertainties enter a complex analysis from a variety of sources: variability, lack of data, human errors, model simplification and lack of understanding of the underlying physics. However, for many important engineering applications insufficient data are available to justify the choice of a particular probability density function (PDF). Sometimes the only data available are in the form of interval estimates which represent, often conflicting, expert opinion. In this paper we demonstrate that Bayesian estimation techniques can successfully be used in applications where only vague interval measurements are available. The proposed approach is intended to fit within a probabilistic framework, which is established and widely accepted. To circumvent the problem of selecting a specific PDF when only little or vague data are available, a hierarchical model of a continuous family of PDF's is used. The classical Bayesian estimation methods are expanded to make use of imprecise interval data. Each of the expert opinions (interval data) are interpreted as random interval samples of a parent PDF. Consequently, a partial conflict between experts is automatically accounted for through the likelihood function.

  • In this paper, we proposed an estimation method of a posterior probability and PDF(Probability density function) using a feed forward neural network and code books of VQ(vector quantization). In this study, We estimates a posterior probability and probability density function, which compose a new parameter with well-known Mel cepstrum and verificate the performance for the five vowels taking from syllables by NN(neural network) and PNN(probabilistic neural network). In case of new parameter, showed the best result by probabilistic neural network and recognition rates are average 83.02%.

In-plane response of masonry infilled RC framed structures: A probabilistic macromodeling approach

  • In this paper, masonry infilled reinforced concrete (RC) frames are analyzed through a probabilistic approach. A macro-modeling technique, based on an equivalent diagonal pin-jointed strut, has been resorted to for modelling the stiffening contribution of the masonry panels. Since it is quite difficult to decide which mechanical characteristics to assume for the diagonal struts in such simplified model, the strut width is here considered as a random variable, whose stochastic characterization stems from a wide set of empirical expressions proposed in the literature. The stochastic analysis of the masonry infilled RC frame is conducted via the Probabilistic Transformation Method by employing a set of space transformation laws of random vectors to determine the probability density function (PDF) of the system response in a direct manner. The knowledge of the PDF of a set of response indicators, including displacements, bending moments, shear forces, interstory drifts, opens an interesting discussion about the influence of the uncertainty of the masonry infills and the resulting implications in a design process.

  • 복합재료 샌드위치 구조는 굽힘 강성을 향상시키고 복합재 적층판에 비해 30% 이상의 무게를 절감할 수 있다. 그러나 일반 금속에 비해 제작과정에서 발생되는 재료물성의 불확실성이 많이 내재되어 있으므로 신뢰성 기반 확률론적 설계방법이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 안전계수를 이용한 고전적인 설계 방법이 구조물의 안전을 보장하지 않는다는 확률론적 증거를 제시하기 위하여 단순화된 복합재 샌드위치 동체에 대해 PMS(Probabilistic Margin of Safety)를 계산하였다. 이 과정에서 CMCS(Crude Monte-Carlo Simulation)에 의해 계산된 확률밀도함수를 이용하였다. 더 나아가 신뢰성 기반 최적설계를 수행하고 효율적인 계산을 위해 RBDO-MPDF(RBDO by Moving PDF) 방법을 제시하였다. 본 논문의 결과는 구조물의 신뢰성을 보장하기 위한 개선된 설계 방법과 효율적인 신뢰성 기반 최적설계 방법 연구에 유용할 것이다.

  • Magnitude of generated harmonic currents along with the operation of AC traction has nonlinear characteristics, and generated harmonic currents for high speed traction are more and more in high speed railroad(HSR) systems, especially. This paper presents probabilistic approximation method for the harmonic currents analysis about the operating speed of AC traction. To use probabilistic method for HSR system, probability density function(PDF) for collected operating speed based measure data is calculated. Mean and variance of harmonic currents of single traction are obtained based on the operating speed PDF and electrical traction model. The results of Monte Carlo Simulation(MCS) are in well accordance with the experimental and analytic methods. The harmonics of different number of trainloads are systematically investigated. It is assessed by the total demand distortion(TDD) for the HSR system.

  • A study on the probabilistic methodology for the estimation of the remaining life of Pressurized pipelines containing active corrosion defects is presented. This reliability assessment is earned out using extream value distribution of the corroded defects instead of already published failure perssure moded like NG18 or ASME B31G. The failure probability of pipelines depends on the number of corroded defects. and it could be calculated directly as the area exceeded a defined L V(Limited Value of corrosion depth). The remaining life of pressurized pipelines can also be estimated by the PDF of extream value distribution as calculating the exceeded area with a defined failure probability.

The harmonic currents generated along with the operating speed of electrical railroad traction is to analyze very difficulty. This paper therefore presents probabilistic approach for the harmonic currents evaluation about the operating speed of the arbitrary single traction. To use probabilistic method for railroad system, probability density function(PDF) using measuring data based on the realistic harmonic currents per operating speed is calculated. Mean and variance of harmonic currents of single traction also are obtained the PDF of the operating speed and electrical railroad traction model. Uncertainty of harmonic currents expects to results through mean and variance with PDF. The probability of harmonic currents generated with the operating of arbitrary many tractions is calculated by the convolution of functions. The harmonics of different number of tractions are systematically investigated. It is assessed by the total demand distortion(TDD) for the railroad system.
