Visitors who browse the web from wireless PDAs, cell phones are frequently frustrated by interfaces. Simply replacing graphics with text and reformatting tables does not solve this problem, because deep link structures can still require more time. To solve this problem, in the paper we propose an algorithm, Minimal Path Algorithm that automatically improves wireless web navigation by suggesting useful shortcut links in real time. In the result of this paper, Minimal Path algorithm offer the shortcut and the number of shortest links to web users.

Mobile devices, such as PDAs, portable multimedia players, are more likely to encompass large storage devices with prevalance of high-quality multimedia contents. This paper proposes an object-based multimedia contents storage architecture that employs the object-based storage device model and the iSCSI protocol. It also provides a multimedia content player that operates directly with the proposed storage architecture. We implement both the proposed storage architecture and the multimedia content player upon the Linux environment. Performance evaluation by playing MP3 multimedia contents reveals that the proposed storage architecture reduces the total power consumption by 9%, compared with an existing networked storage. This enhancement is mainly contributed to the fact that a large portion of the file system is moved into the object-based multimedia contents storage from the mobile device.

⇒ 초록(영문) 입력자 : This document defines JSR298 Telematics API for Java ME. The main purpose of JSR298 is to be able to provide automotive telematics services through use of this specification on embedded devices that are using Java ME platform. The goal is to standardize specification in order to provide automotive telematics services using embedded devices with Java ME as their base platform. This specification defines methods for controlling and obtaining diagnostic information and conditions on various components built in to the vehicle. Therefore, this document will provide specifications required for controlling various equipments built into the vehicles as well as obtaining diagnostic information on these components and vehicle conditions. Automotive components are defined as equipments that are accessible for drivers including airbag, door, window, and brake. This specification is applicable to telematics-specific automotive terminals as well as other various portable devices including cellular phones and PDAs.

무선 인터넷은 현재까지는 주식, 연예뉴스 등 간단한 정보 서비스에 머물고 있지만, 곧 e-commerce의 대표적인 거래 형태가 무선 인터넷의 영역으로 확장될 것이라 예상된다. m-commerce의 관점에서 기존의 e-commerce상의 상품정보를 이용하는 것이 매우 중요하지만, m-commerce와 e-commerce를 지원하는 장치 디바이스간의 차이는 많은 제약이 되고있다. 특히, 모바일 디바이스의 화면은 데스크탑 PC 화면 보다 작은 디스플레이 화면을 제공하기 때문에 기존 데스크탑 상에서 표현되던 상품정보 페이지를 모바일 디바이스에서 그대로 표현하기에는 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 e-commerce상의 상품정보가 웹상의 새로운 문서기술 언어인 XML로 표현되어 있다고 가정하고, 이러한 XML 상품정보를 무선 인터넷 단말기인 PDA에서 효과적으로 디스플레이 할 수 있는 크기로 서버상에서 분할해주는 분할모듈을 설계하고 Java를 사용하여 구현한다.

m-commerce의 관점에서 기존의 e-commerce상의 상품정보를 이용하는 것이 매우 중요하지만, m-commerce와 e-commerce를 지원하는 장치 디바이스간의 차이는 많은 제약이 되고있다. 특히, 모바일 디바이스의 화면은 데스크탑 PC 화면 보다 작은 디스플레이 크기를 제공하기 때문에 기존 데스크탑상에서 표현되던 상품정보 페이지를 모바일 디바이스에서 그대로 표현하기에는 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 e-commerce상의 상품정보가 웹상의 새로운 문서기술 언어인 XML로 표현되어 있다고 가정하고, 이러한 XML 상품정보를 무선 인터넷 단말기인 PDA에서 효과적으로 디스플레이 할 수 있는 시스템을 개발한다. 시스템은Java 환경에서 J2ME에 기반하여 구현한다. 구현된 시스템에 Web상의 다양한 XML 상품정보를 적용한다.

This study investigates the factors that influence the user's (postal workers') satisfaction with using PDAs in the Korea Postal Services. This study is concerned about the success of IS when employees are mandated to use IS to increase their productivity. The factors examined in this study include independent variables (information quality and system quality), dependent variables (perceived usefulness and user satisfaction), and mediator (compatibility with work). All these factors were found significant for causal relations. We especially notice the role of compatibility with work as full mediator.

본 논문에서는 제한된 필기 글꼴을 이용한 휴대형 정보기기용 온라인 문자 인식 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 한글과 영숫자를 동시에 사용하는 문자 인식은 애매성으로 인하여 인식율이 낮아지며, 이를 극복하기 위하여 모드 변환이나 영역 분리 등의 제약을 하게 된다. 본 논문에서 제안한 인식 알고리즘은 한글과 영문자, 숫자를 혼용하여 사용할 수밖에 없는 우리의 문자 환경에서 사용자의 평의성을 최대한 살려 입력 모드 전환이나 필기 영역 분리 등의 제약을 하지 않는 단일 알고리즘이다. 또한 역추적에 의하여 인식 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 미의식 또는 오인식을 보정할 수 있도록 한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 전체 알고리즘의 크기가 작으며 계산량이 적어서 메모리와 속도 등의 성능에 있어서 자원의 제약을 가질 수밖에 없는 초소형 휴대형 정보기기의 입력 장치로서 적합하도록 연구하였다. 실험 결과 영숫자 98%, 한글 97%의 인식율을 얻어 유용성을 확인하였다.

본 논문에서는 주 입력 장치가 펜인 휴대용 컴퓨터에서 사용할 수 있는 다섯 살 전후의 유아 학습게임을 개발하였다. PDAs와 같은 휴대용 컴퓨터는 장소에 구애받지 않고 어디든지 휴대하여 사용할 수 있다는 큰 장점이 있다. 또한 주된 입력 장치가 펜이므로 연필을 가지고 종이에 그리듯이 사용할 수 있어 유아가 사용하기에 다른 입력 장치에 비해 편리한 장점을 가지고 있다. 인터넷이나 기타 특정 프로그램들을 이용한 학습 방법은 많이 나와 있지만 아직 휴대용 컴퓨터에서 사용할 수 있는 프로그램의 개발은 미비한 상태이다. 본 논문에서는 휴대용 컴퓨터의 장점을 최대한 살려서 어디서든지 필요할 때 사용할 수 있는 게임 형태의 유아 학습 프로그램을 개발하고 구현하였다. 또한 데스크 탑 컴퓨터에 비해 하드웨어와 화면 크기의 제약을 가지고 있는 PDAs에서 유아들이 쉽게 익숙해지고 흥미를 느낄 수 있는 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 개발하였다.

Storage drives for mobile devices, such as laptop computers or PDAs, are changing now. The data density of storage drives is becoming higher and sizes of those are becoming smaller and thinner. Spindle motors for rotating disk are also becoming smaller and thinner. But, large torque is required to reduce seek time. In this research, inner rotor type spindle motor suitable for thin thickness has been developed. Rotor and stator are optimized structurally for large torque performance with small size. Especially, high vibration and shock performances, which are essential to mobile devices, are analyzed in detail.

Mainly through the pervasive emergence of portable devices (laptops, PDAs, now iPods), the screen arts, that is, the cinematic arts has suffered the loss of what constitutes the core of its existence: the theatre and theatre-audience. This paper discusses cinema's distinct place and significance in culture and its difference from television and other forms of mass media. The most pressing question at hand would be, "how do you bring back attention to the medium that is distinctly cinematic?" "How do you bring people back to the theatres?" This paper argues that cinema, and the film industry as a whole must push for a technological leap that is in conjunction with culture. With mentioning of the rapid development of 3D technologies in the moving images, this paper proposes that such technological novelties and innovation are necessary conditions for a new kind of film culture to emerge.
