한국의 수자원은 높은 인구밀도와 물을 담아 관리하는 시설 및 물에 대한 인식 부족으로 물 부족 현상은 현실로 다가오고 있다. 또한 많은 양의 정수가 사용하지도 못한 채 땅속에서 새어나가고 있으며, 이를 관리 및 탐지하는 방법에도 많은 제약사항이 있어 빠른 복구와 대처능력이 현저히 부족하다. 본 논문은 모바일의 장점인 이동성을 이용하여 누수탐지 기법중의 하나인 'TDR(Time Domain Reflectomater)을 이용한 누수탐지 기법'을 PDA에 적용시켜 모바일 환경에서도 정확한 누수위치를 탐색하여 빠른 복구와 누수 비용을 줄이는데 목적이 있다 누수위치와 복구공사에 관련된 정보들은 PDA로 전송되며, 관리자는 복구공사에 대한 빠른 대처능력과 의사결정을 할 수 있다. 본 연구의 유효성을 입증하기 위하여 ESRI사의 MapObject 2.0과 eVB를 이용하여 PDA환경에서의 누수탐지 시스템을 시뮬레이션 하였다.

As a pervasive healthcare application to help medication of elderly patients, the smart compliance monitors have been recently proposed. In this paper, we present a new smart drug/medicine pack (SDP) for ubiquitous medication monitoring, for which the packaging is either paper packet or blister pack. This ubiquitous compliance monitor is composed of several SDPs and a Bluetooth equipped PDA phone. The SDP is a wireless module that monitors the medication consumption unobtrusively by transmitting the sensed data of 'drug removal' events to the medical center and by reminding patients when they take a dose on their mobile phone. The communication between SDP modules and PDA is realized via Bluetooth. The PDA is basically embedded to indicate the medication record and to alert every prescribed medication time during treatment. Experimental results show that the proposed system works exactly when the SDPs are far within about 2 [m] from PDA.

The purpose of this study was to survey a development of the wireless transmission system of medical images for ubiquitous medicine. There have been many changes in medical equipments and medical record medical treatment and medical record within hospital and PACS(Picture Archiving Communication System) which is picture management system for patients can be typical cases. It is difficult to use these automated medical systems unless they are within hospital and in case of rapid image reading in the emergency cases or in absence of doctor, it is difficult to perform it immediately. The present study implemented an image transmission system using CDMA connection so that images in the server can be viewed at any time and in any place. Remote wireless diagnosis based on medical images using PDA is applicable to medical areas that require mobility, and the use of PDA can be an ideal alternative for point of care. The use of PDA enables prompt and accurate access to digital medical images, which in turn reduces medical accidents and improves the quality of medical services through high productivity and efficiency of medical practitioners' works. It also enables quick response to patients' demands and high-quality medical services and, consequently, patients' high satisfaction.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대한 연구가 활발하게 전개되고 있는 지금, PC에서뿐만 아니라 언제 어디서나 가능한 모바일 환경에서 다양한 사용자 인터랙션에 중점을 두고 떨러 가지 기하객체들과 이미지, 텍스트 객체 등을 지원함으로써 PDA의 고유의 특성을 이용하고 또 이에 알맞은 PDA환경에서 전문적인 저작도구를 개발하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 PDA와 같은 제한된 스크린 사이즈와 메모리 공간에서 작은 메모리를 사용하여 얼마나 풍부한 컨텐츠가 저작가능한가 하는 것이 아주 중요하다 본 논문은 PDA환경에서 기하객체와 텍스트, 이미지 등 객체들을 이용하여 MPEG-4 컨텐츠 저작함에 있어서 기존의 저작도구의 기초 위에서 PDA환경의 고유 특성을 고려하여 BIFS 텍스트 생성 모듈, BIFS 인코더 모듈. 멀티플렉서 모듈에 대한 최적화 기법을 연구하며 더 나아가서 PDA환경에 보다 적합하면서도 직접적이고도 시각적인 저작이 가능한 MPEG-4 컨텐츠 저작시스템을 제안하고 그 개발 결과를 보인다.

A nonlinear control algorithm for the depth control of underwater vehicles is presented. In order to consider the deadzone effect of the flow control valve, a nonlinear fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is synthesized and combined with a linear proportional-derivative-acceleration (PDA) controller, which is called the PDA/FLC controller. And to show the effectiveness of the PDA/FLC control system, it is compared with the linear PDA control system through computer simulation. It is found that the PDA/FLC control system is suitable one to maintain the desirable depth of underwater vehicles with deadzone.

It need remote storage system using iSCSI to overcome a limit of PDA storage device used in currently wireless network environment, and IPSec to solve a security problem of wireless environment increasing continually. In this paper, it design and implement iSCSI to use a remote storage system on PDA, and IPSec for security. The experimental results in real environment show a system performance.

In this paper, we developed a mobile fingerprint identification system using wireless LAN based on IEEE 802.11 or mobile networks based on CDMA. The proposed system contains a server system to register fingerprints and ID data, clients system which is PDA with WLAN or CDMA module and fingerprint identification module.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경은 기존의 통신, 네트워크를 포함하여 단순히 어떤 기능을 추가하는 것에서 한걸음 더 나아가 우리가 흔히 주변에서 접하게 되는 자동차, 냉장고, 휴대폰, 및 PDA 등과 같이 다양한 형태의 기기에 컴퓨터 환경을 접목 시킴으로써 다양한 디지털 커뮤니케이션이 가능토록 해 주는 정보기술의 패러다임을 뜻한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 유비쿼터스 환경에서 블루투스 기반 PDA 를 이용하여 사용자가 집 또는 사무실 등에서 비디오 등의 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 보고 있다가 사용자가 다른 장소로 이동한 후에 이동한 곳에서도 전에 제공받고 있던 멀티디미어 컨텐츠들을 계속 보고자 할 경우 이동한 곳의 시스템 자원을 활용하여 이동 전에 보고 있던 컨텐츠를 간단한 조작을 통해 계속해서 볼 수 있게 하는 시스템을 제안한다.

In this paper, we present a car number retrieving system using speech recogntion and speech synthesis for PDA. This system consist of 4-digit numbers and command speech recognition as well its speech synthesis. Experiment results showed 4-digit numbers recognition rate 97% and commands recognition 99% through speaker-independent method.

A monitoring system for the security is increasingly demanded in line with the issue of the infringement of privacy. This paper has conducted the study on the monitoring technique via the Internet using PC or PDA. This is a monitoring system for web-camera based home server, which transmits the images and sound data captured by mike-embedded USB camera, though multiplexer of H.263 and internet. It integrates the operating processors of each device into a unified drive module and provides it the operator to facilitate the system operation and maintenance.
