익형과 엔진 종류를 고려한 도로주행형 PAV 초기 사이징 (Initial Sizing of a Roadable PAV Considering Airfoil and Engine Types)

  • 많은 나라들에서 늘어가는 자동차로 인한 교통체증에 대체 할 수 있는 새로운 교통수단에 대한요구가 증가하고 있다. 또한, 경제적인 성장으로 인한 자동차 보유 대수의 증가로 앞으로 교통체증은 더욱 증가할 것이다. 이를 위해 도로주행형 개인용 항공기(PAV; personal air vehicle)에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도로주행형 PAV의 사이징에서 엔진과 익형의 종류에 따른 주요 설계 변수인 익면하중과 동력대중량비를 구하기 위한 사이징을 수행하였다. 즉, 사이징 과정에서 국내 환경과 일반 항공기급 인증기준인 FAR PART 23을 고려한 임무형상에 대하여 익면하중, 동력대중량비, 제동마력, 그리고 연료효율의 그래프를 통해서 설계점을 결정하는 연구도 수행하였다. 사이징 결과 디젤 엔진을 사용하는 경우 가솔린 엔진보다 더 큰 중량으로 인해 더 큰 이륙총중량, 날개 면적, 그리고 더 큰 동력을 요구한다.

  • 현재 우리나라를 포함한 다수의 국가에서 지상 교통수송 체계가 포화상태에 이르렀다. 이를 해결하기 위해 교통체계의 3차원 화로 교통체증을 완화하고 door-to-door 이동성을 달성하고자 도로주행형 개인용 항공기 (PAV; personal air vehicle)에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도로주행형 PAV의 사이징에서 지상 활주거리, 상승률, 최대 순항속도, 최대 상승고도, 실속 속도 등의 구속조건하에서 주요 설계 변수인 추력대중량비, 익면하중, 동력대중량비를 구하기 위한 구속조건 해석을 수행하였다. 또한 사이징 과정에서 국내 환경과 일반항공기급 인증기준인 FAR PART 23을 고려한 임무형상에 대하여 추력대중량비, 익면하중, 동력대중량비, 그리고 제동마력의 그래프를 통해서 설계점을 결정하는 연구도 수행하였다.

Regional Distribution of Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus Strains in Korea and Identification of Resistant Wheat

  • Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus (BYDV) has been a major disease causing a severe loss of yield in winter cereals worldwide. It has been recently reported that BYDV occurs frequently in wheat field and also causes serious yield reduction in Korea. This study was performed to investigate the regional distributions of BYDV strains in Korea and to identify the resistant cultivars or lines of wheat to the predominant BYDV strains, providing basic information for the breeding of BYDV-resistant wheat varieties. Using RT-PCR and EcoRI digestion methods, the regional distribution of BYDV strains in Korea from 1999 to 2000 showed that PAV strain was mainly detected about 65% (Vic-PAV 52.6% ; CN-PAV 47.4%) and MAV strain about 3%. Using ELISA test for the examination of BYDV resistance with 17 cultivars and 4 lines among Korean wheat, three cultivars, Gurumil, Topdongmil, and Olgurumil, were susceptible to BYDV and the others were resistant. In plant growth and yield component responses to BYDV infection, Gurumil showed significant difference between the uninfected and the infected, suggesting the most susceptible to BYDV among Korean wheat, but Eun-pamil and Seohae118 did no difference, an indication that they have the highest resistance.

A Study on the Application of Human Factors to the Introduction of PAV & UAM

  • The present and future cities are expanding, and the noise and environmental pollution in cities are getting worse day by day, causing saturation of road and subway traffic. As a result, citizens are spending a great deal of time and money. The use of the sky as a measure to solve this problem has become a reality. However, airplanes that require airstrips and noisy helicopters are difficult to use in cities. As a solution, PAVs and UAMs that generate low noise and enable vertical takeoff and landing using electric energy, motor, hybrid, and hydrogen energy, are attracting attention, with its practicality being promoted in many countries. The development of urban environment and technology has led to the emergence of Personal Air Vehicle (PAV), Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL), and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) for shipping. Though currently at the level of testing, general commercialization of these air transport means is expected in the next five to fifteen years. This study suggests a plan on the application of human factors to the introduction of PAV and UAM.

광용적맥파 신호를 이용한 수면 중 호흡 추정 (Estimation of Respiration Using Photoplethysmograph During Sleep)

  • Respiratory signal is one of the important physiological information indicating the status and function of the body. Recent studies have provided the possibility of being able to estimate the respiratory signal by using a change of PWV(pulse width variability), PRV(pulse rate variability) and PAV(pulse amplitude variability) in the PPG (photoplethysmography) signal during daily life. But, it is not clear whether the respiratory monitoring is possible even during sleep. Therefore, in this paper, we estimated the respiration from PWV, PRV and PAV of PPG signals during sleep. In addition, respiration rates of the estimated respiration signal were calculated through a time-frequency analysis, and errors between respiration rates calculated from each parameter and from reference signal were evaluated in terms of 1 sec, 10 sec and 1 min. As a result, it showed the errors in PWV(1s: $36.38{\pm}37.69$ mHz, 10s: $36.53{\pm}38.16$ mHz, 60s: $30.35{\pm}38.72$ mHz), in PRV(1s: $1.45{\pm}1.38$ mHz, 10s: $1.44{\pm}1.37$ mHz, 60s: $0.45{\pm}0.56$ mHz), and in PAV(1s: $1.05{\pm}0.81$ mHz, 10s: $1.05{\pm}0.79$ mHz, 60s: $0.56{\pm}0.93$ mHz). The errors in PRV and PAV are lower than that of PWV. Finally, we concluded that PRV and PAV are more effective than PWV in monitoring the respiration in daily life as well as during sleep.

도심항공 모빌리티 운용을 위한 인구분포를 고려한 소음 우선 경로 생성 및 소음 분석 (Noise Priority Route Generation and Noise Analysis for the Operation of Urban Air Mobility Considering Population Distribution)

  • eVTOL PAV의 상용화에 있어 해결해야할 중요한 과제들 중 하나는 도심항공 모빌리티 운용에 따른 소음을 감소시키는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 우리나라 수도권 행정구역별 인구 분포 데이터를 분석하여 소음에 영향을 받는 인구수가 최소화될 수 있도록 AEDT (aviation environmental design tool) 소프트웨어를 사용하여 소음 우선 경로를 생성하고, 운용 시의 소음 분석을 수행하였다. 또한, 최단 거리 경로 운영 시 소음에 영향을 받는 인구수와 비교하여 소음 우선 경로가 소음 노출을 얼마만큼 감소시킬 수 있는지 분석하였다. eVTOL PAV 개발 회사에서 소음 데이터를 제공하지 않는다는 점을 감안하여 헬리콥터 모델을 사용하여 분석을 진행하였다. 결과적으로 소음 노출량을 최소화한 소음 우선 경로가 타 경로들에 비해 더 효율적임을 증명하였다.

Vitamin D Proliferates Vaginal Epithelium through RhoA Expression in Postmenopausal Atrophic Vagina tissue

  • Postmenopausal atrophic vagina (PAV) is the thinning of the walls of the vagina and decreased lugae of the vagina. PAV is caused by decreased estrogen levels in postmenopausal women. However, the harmful effects of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) have resulted in considerable caution in its use. Various estrogen agonist treatment options are available. Vitamin D is influences the regulation of differentiation and proliferation of various cells, especially tissues lining stratified squamous epithelium, such as the vaginal epithelium. In this study, we hypothesized that vitamin D could provide an alternative and a safe treatment option for PAV by promoting the proliferation and differentiation of the vaginal epithelium. Thirty six patients were enrolled in this case-control study. Vitamin D associated proteins in a vitamin D and sex hormone treated vaginal epithelial cell line as well as normal and PAV tissues were measured. To confirm of cell-to-cell junction protein expression, cell line and tissue studies included RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry staining, and immunoblot analyses. The expression of cell-to-cell junction proteins was higher in women with symptoms of atrophic vagina tissue compared to women without the symptoms. Vitamin D stimulated the proliferation of the vaginal epithelium by activating p-RhoA and Erzin through the vitamin D receptor (VDR). The results suggest that vitamin D positively regulates cell-to-cell junction by increasing the VDR/p-RhoA/p-Ezrin pathway. This is the first study to verify the relationship of the expression of RhoA and Ezrin proteins in vaginal tissue of PAV.

PAV 케이블 하네스에 대한 낙뢰 간접 영향성 인증 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study of Certification of Lightning Indirect Effects on Cable Harness in Personal Air Vehicles)

  • 최근 세계적으로 연구개발이 활발히 진행되고 있는 PAV(Personal Air Vehicle)에 대한 낙뢰 간접 영향성 인증 지침의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 미래 교통수단으로서 소형화, 전기 엔진 사용, 복합재 사용 증가, 무인 항법 시스템 적용하는 추세인 PAV는 낙뢰에 취약할 수밖에 없다. 본 연구에서는 미연방항공청(FAA)에서 발행한 AC 20 136B에 나타난 낙뢰 간접 영향에 대한 적합성 인증절차를 확인하였다. 이와 함께 RTCA DO 160G Sec. 22에 수록된 장비 과도 설계 수준에 대한 인증 지침을 PAV에 적용하였다. 이어서 SAE ARP 5416A에 수록된 항공기 수준 시험을 전자기 해석 소프트웨어 EMA3D을 통해 수행하였다. 이를 통해 PAV에 대한 실제 과도 수준을 분석하였으며 이를 통해 적합성 인증에 필요한 자료를 도출하였다.

Bowlesia incana Ruiz & Pav. (Apiaceae), a New Invasive Alien Plant in Korea

  • Bowlesia incana Ruiz & Pav., a new invasive alien plant in Korea, was found in Ulju-gun, Ulsan Metropolitan City. This species is characterized as being similar to the genera Hydrocotyle Tourn. ex L. and Centella L. However, it differs morphologically from these two genera in leaves, flowers, and fruits, as well as stellate pubescence growing on the whole plant. In Korea, Bowlesia incana Ruiz & Pav. is recorded for the first time in this study. A morphological description, distribution map, and illustrations based on the Korean materials collected are presented.

유무인 겸용 개인항공기(OPPAV) 개념설계를 위한 구조물 사이징 (Structural Sizing for Optionally Piloted PAV Preliminary Design)

  • Personal air vehicle (PAV) is considered by aviation engineers as a solution to provide fast urban mobility. The purpose of designing a optionally piloted PAV (OPPAV) is to provide an individual air vehicle. The airframe structure is designed with high strength carbon fiber composite to reduce the aircraft weight. This paper presents an overview of sizing process for OPPAV at the conceptual design level. It consists of load analysis, structural sizing and development of efficient design allowable values for composite material. The weight is estimated based on sizing process, including strength and stiffness requirements. The objective of this study is to present a overview of structural sizing procedure and fast tool for preliminary design phases.
