In this paper we obtain a sufficient and necessary condition for an analytic function f on the unit ball B with Hadamard gaps, that is, for $f(z)\;=\;{\sum}^{\infty}_{k=1}\;P_{nk}(z)$ (the homogeneous polynomial expansion of f) satisfying $n_{k+1}/n_{k}{\ge}{\lambda}>1$ for all $k\;{\in}\;N$, to belong to the weighted Bergman space $$A^p_{\alpha}(B)\;=\;\{f{\mid}{\int}_{B}{\mid}f(z){\mid}^{p}(1-{\mid}z{\mid}^2)^{\alpha}dV(z) < {\infty},\;f{\in}H(B)\}$$. We find a growth estimate for the integral mean $$\({\int}_{{\partial}B}{\mid}f(r{\zeta}){\mid}^pd{\sigma}({\zeta})\)^{1/p}$$, and an estimate for the point evaluations in this class of functions. Similar results on the mixed norm space $H_{p,q,{\alpha}$(B) and weighted Bergman space on polydisc $A^p_{^{\to}_{\alpha}}(U^n)$ are also given.
Jinhae Bay is a typical aquaculture farm with active fisheries. However, it has been contaminated by the development of a major city and industrial area, and has therefore diminished in value as a fishing ground. To preserve the continuing productivity of the ocean, we have to estimate fisheries resources. To analyze the fisheries resources in Jinhae Bay, we evaluated the Fisheries Productivity Index (FPI). The FPI is composed of the Total production ($T_p$), Total amount ($T_a$), and Production of edible protein ($E_p$), nitrogen ($N_p$) and phosphorous ($P_p$). To calculate the FPI, we used Annual statistics on cooperative sales of fishery products data from 1979 to 2004 and the Food composition table. The results of the FPI were as follows. $T_p$ ranged from 70,235 tons to 113,556 tons and $T_a$ ranged from 107,004 million won to 373,776 million won. $E_p$ ranged from 8,124 tons to 13,357 tons, $N_p$ ranged from 1,965 tons to 3,273 tons, and $P_p$ ranged from 168 tons to 276 tons. According to the FPI, maximum fisheries productivity occurred in 1994, when $T_a$, $E_p$, $N_p$ and $P_p$ were at their highest values.
We report the construction of two Bacillus subtilis expression vectors, pBNS1/pBNS2. Both vectors are based on the strong promoter P43 and the ampicillin resistance gene expression cassette. Additionally, a fragment with the Shine-Dalgarno sequence and a multiple cloning site (BamHI, SalI, SacI, XhoI, PstI, SphI) were inserted. The coding region for the amyQ (encoding an amylase) signal peptide was fused to the promoter P43 of pBNS1 to construct the secreted expression vector pBNS2. The applicability of vectors was tested by first generating the expression vectors pBNS1-GFP/pBNS2-GFP and then detecting for green fluorescent protein gene expression. Next, the mannanase gene from B. pumilus Nsic-2 was fused to vector pBNS2 and we measured the mannanase activity in the supernatant. The mannanase total enzyme activity was 8.65 U/ml, which was 6 times higher than that of the parent strain. Our work provides a feasible way to achieve an effective transformation system for gene expression in B. subtilis and is the first report to achieve B. pumilus mannanase secretory expression in B. subtilis.
A mannanase gene was cloned into Escherichia coli from Cellulosimicrobium sp. YB-43, which had been found to produce two kinds of mannanase, and sequenced completely. This mannanase gene, designated manB, consisted of 1,284 nucleotides encoding a polypeptide of 427 amino acid residues. Based on the deduced amino acid sequence, the ManB was identified to be a modular enzyme including two carbohydrate binding domains besides the catalytic domain, which was highly homologous to mannanases belonging to the glycosyl hydrolase family 5. The N-terminal amino acid sequence of ManB, purified from a cell-free extract of the recombinant E. coli carrying a Cellulosimicrobium sp. YB-43 manB gene, has been determined as QGASAASDG, which was correctly corresponding to signal peptide predicted by SignalP4.1 server for Gram-negative bacteria. The purified ManB had a pH optimum for its activity at pH 6.5~7.0 and a temperature optimum at $55^{\circ}C$. The enzyme was active on locust bean gum (LBG), konjac and guar gum, while it did not exhibit activity towards carboxymethylcellulose, xylan, starch, and para-nitrophenyl-${\beta}$-mannopyranoside. The activity of enzyme was inhibited very slightly by $Mg^{2+}$, $K^+$, and $Na^+$, and significantly inhibited by $Cu^{2+}$, $Zn^{2+}$, $Mn^{2+}$, and SDS. The enzyme could hydrolyze mannooligosaccharides larger than mannobiose, which was the most predominant product resulting from the ManB hydrolysis for mannooligosaccharides and LBG.
The present study was designed to examine the effect of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) induction by cobalt protoporphyrin (CoPP) on the cardiac functions and morphology, electrocardiogram (ECG) changes, myocardial antioxidants (superoxide dismutase [SOD] and glutathione [GSH]), and expression of heat shock protein (Hsp) 70 and connexin 43 (Cx-43) in myocardial muscles in isoproterenol (ISO) induced myocardial infarction (MI). Thirty two adult male Sprague Dawely rats were divided into 4 groups (each 8 rats): normal control (NC) group, ISO group: received ISO at dose of 150 mg/kg body weight intraperitoneally (i.p.) for 2 successive days; ISO + Trizma group: received (ISO) and Trizma (solvent of CoPP) at dose of 5 mg/kg i.p. injection 2 days before injection of ISO, with ISO at day 0 and at day 2 after ISO injections; and ISO + CoPP group: received ISO and CoPP at a dose of 5 mg/kg dissolved in Trizma i.p. injection as Trizma. We found that, administration of ISO caused significant increase in heart rate, corrected QT interval, ST segment, cardiac enzymes (lactate dehydrogenase, creatine kinase-muscle/brain), cardiac HO-1, Hsp70 with significant attenuation in myocardial GSH, SOD, and Cx-43. On the other hand, administration of CoPP caused significant improvement in ECG parameters, cardiac enzymes, cardiac morphology; antioxidants induced by ISO with significant increase in HO-1, Cx-43, and Hsp70 expression in myocardium. In conclusions, we concluded that induction of HO-1 by CoPP ameliorates ISO-induced myocardial injury, which might be due to up-regulation of Hsp70 and gap junction protein (Cx-43).

The 1080 epiphytic bacteria obtained from 370 samples of pome and stone fruits including apple, pear, peach, grape, apricot and Chinese quince were screened for antagonistic activity against postharvest pathogens, Penicillium expansum, Alternaria alternata and Botrytis cinerea. Among tested antagonistic bacteria, eight bacterial isolates inhibited mycelial growth of the postharvest pathogens and were identified as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (three strains), B. megaterium, B. subtilis var. gladioli, B. licheniformis, B. pumilus and Serratia marcescens based on biochemical characteristics and utility of carbon and nitrogen compounds (Biolog system). Eight carbohydrates were evaluated for their effect on mycelial growth and germination of the postharvest pathogen, P. expansum to select nutrients for enhancing bio-control efficacy. The growth of four selected antagonists, B. amyloliquefaciens P43-2, B. amyloliquefaciens A71-2, B. licheniformis P94-1, and S. marcescens P76-9 were also tested. As a result, 1% glucose (w/v) strongly stimulated growth of the antagonists, suppressed mycelial growth of the postharvest pathogen, and had a little comparatively stimulatory effect on germination of the the postharvest pathogen. It was confirmed that the addition of 1% glucose (w/v) greatly enhanced biocontrol effect of B. amyloliquefaciens P43-2, B. licheniformis P94-1, and S. marcescens P76-9. Application of B. amyloliquefaciens P43-2, B. licheniformis P94-1, and S. marcescens P76-9 with the addition of 1% glucose (w/v) increased the control efficacy up to 48%, 46%, 14% compared with those of the antagonists without glucose, respectively. When the antagonists were applied to control postharvest disease caused by P. expansum in apple wounds, the population of B. amyloliquefaciens P43-2 and B. licheniformis P94-1 increased until 4 days after inoculation (DAI) of the antagonists and then decreased from 10 DAI. Meanwhile the population of S. marcescens P76-9 decreased at early stage (4 DAI), but increased from 7 DAI, and finally maintained constantly until 10 DAI in apple wounds.
