A WEAK SOLUTION OF A NONLINEAR BEAM EQUATION

  • In this paper we investigate the existence of weak solutions of a nonlinear beam equation under Dirichlet boundary condition on the interval $-\frac{\pi}{2}<x<\frac{\pi}{2}$ and periodic condition on the variable $t$, $u_{tt}+u_{xxxx}=p(x,t,u)$. We show that if $p$ satisfies condition $(p_1)-(p_3)$, then the nonlinear beam equation possesses at least one weak solution.

Kernel Regression Estimation for Permutation Fixed Design Additive Models

  • Consider an additive regression model of Y on X = (X$_1$,X$_2$,. . .,$X_p$), Y = $sum_{j=1}^pf_j(X_j) + $\varepsilon$$, where $f_j$s are smooth functions to be estimated and $\varepsilon$ is a random error. If $X_j$s are fixed design points, we call it the fixed design additive model. Since the response variable Y is observed at fixed p-dimensional design points, the behavior of the nonparametric regression estimator depends on the design. We propose a fixed design called permutation fixed design, and fit the regression function by the kernel method. The estimator in the permutation fixed design achieves the univariate optimal rate of convergence in mean squared error for any p $\geq$ 2.

炭川의 大型水生植物群集의 分布와 環境 (Environmental Factor and the Distribution of Aquatic Macrophytes Community in Tanchon)

  • The distribution of aquatic macrophytes in TanChon basin, a stream of the Han River, were investigated in terms of environmental gradient from June 1989 to March 1990. In the basin, 12 species of aquatic macrophytes were listed and four communities of Potamogeton crispus community. $P. octandrus$ community, $Hydrilla verticillata$ community and $Vallisneria$ asiatica community were recongized by character species. $P. crispus, P. octandrus$ and $V. asiatica$ were found in rapids while $H. verticillata , Ceratophyllum demersum$ and $Trapa japonica$ were done in pools. The depth of sediment $TanCh\u{o}n$ was showed as a exponential function of water velocity, Bd=exp (-K Wv). The values of Biochemical Oxygen Demand(BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD) and Suspendid Solid(SS) were recorded as range of 3.2~121.0mg/1, 4.2~54.5mg/1 and 4.1~114.0mg/1, respectively. And the linear positive correlation between BOD(X) and COD(Y) were expressed as Y=3.904+0.4308 X with $R^2$=0.9808 and also the correlation between BOD value(X) and SS value(Y) were done as Y=5.333+0.9606X with $R^2$=0.9700. In two dimensional analysis of BOD and water velocity, their clusters were showed similar types matching to communities classified by character species. However, no aquatic macrophyes were found at the site with BOD$\geq$50mg/l or DO$\leq$0.2mg/l.

  • In 1970, Fernique proved that there is a positive real number $\alpha$ such that $\int_{\mathbb{B}}\exp\{\alpha{\parallel}x{\parallel}^{2}\}dP(x)$ is finite where ($\mathbb{B},\;P$) is an abstract Wiener measure space and ${\parallel}\;{\cdot}\;{\parallel}$ is a measurable norm on ($\mathbb{B},\;P$) in [2, 3]. In this article, we investigate the existence of the integral $\int_{c}\exp\{\alpha(sup_t{\mid}x(t){\mid})^p\}dm_{\varphi}(x)$ where ($\mathcal{C}$, $m_{\varphi}$) is the analogue of Wiener measure space and p and $\alpha$ are both positive real numbers.

  • GaSb crystals were grown by the vertical Bridgman method. P-type GaSb crystals were grown with Ga:Sb=1:1 at % ratio without dopants and with Te, respectively. Also, GaSb:Te crystals were investigated. Lattice constants were 6.117${\AA}$ for p-type. The carrier concentration, the resistivity, and the carrier mobility measured by the van der Pauw method were p≡8 x $10^{16}$$cm^{-3}$, p≡0.20$\Omega$-cm, ${\mu}$$_{n}$$400\textrm{cm}^2$$V^{-1}$$sec^{-1}$ for p-type, n≡1 x $10^{17}$$cm^{-3}$, p≡0.15 $\Omega$-cm, ${\mu}$$_{n}$$500\textrm{cm}^2$$V^{-1}$$sec^{-1}$ for n-type at 300K. In case of treating with metal ion of $Ru^{+3}$, $Pt^{+1}$, p≡2 x $10^{17}$$cm^{-3}$, p≡0.08$\Omega$-cm, ${\mu}$$_{n}$≡420$\textrm{cm}^2$$V^{-1}$$sec^{-1}$ for p-type, n≡2.5 x $10^{17}$$cm^{-13}$, p≡0.07 $\Omega$-cm, ${\mu}$$_{n}$≡520$\textrm{cm}^2$$V^{-1}$$sec^{-1}$ for n-type were obtained.

토마토 플러그육묘시 기비수준 및 관비 시작일이 묘 생육과 무기성분 함량에 미치는 영향 (Growth and Nutrient Contents of Tomato Plug Seedlings as Influenced by Pre-planting Fertilizer Levels and Initiation Time of Fertigation)

  • 코이어+피트모스+펄라이트(4:4:2, v/v/v) 상토를 조제하고, 기비수준을 0.5X, 1.0X및 1.5X로 조절하였으며, 각 기비수준에서 파종 7, 14, 21 및 28일에 첫 관비를 할 경우 토마토 플러그 묘의 생육 및 무기원소 흡수에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 본 연구를 수행하였다. 동일한 관비 시작일에서 기비수준이 높을수록 파종 35일과 70일 후의 생체중과 건물중 생산량이 많았고, 동일한 기비수준에서 관비시작일이 빠를수록 식물 생장이 우수하였다. 동일한 관비 시작일에서 기비수분이 0.5X인 처리가 1.0X나 1.5X 처리 보다 인산 함량이 많았고, 기비수준이 높을수록 K, Mg 및 Fe 함량이 감소하고 Ca 함량이 증가하였다. 파종 35일 및 70일 후 본 연구의 토양 pH는 대부분 7.0 이상으로 측정되어 과도하게 높았으며, 상업용 재배에 적용할 경우 석회질 비료의 종류 및 양을 변화시켜야 할 것으로 판단하였다. 본 연구결과를 고려할 때 Ca을 제외한 모든 비료의 기비수준을 1.5X로 높이고, 발아실에서 재배온실로 옮긴 즉시 첫 관비를 시작해야 할 것으로 판단하였다.

양궁 백 텐션 국면에서 최우수 양궁선수의 동작특성 평가 (Evaluation on Motion Features of the World's Second Archer during Back-Tension in Archery)

  • It has been reported that Back-Tension played a significant role in archery (Lee & Bondit, 2005; Kim, 2007) but there are a few researches related Back-Tension in Korea recently. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate archery back tension technique for the second ranked archer in the World and to find ways to improve performance. A subject(height: 185cm, mass: 82kg, years: 21yrs, careers: 12yrs) who is a number of national team and the second ranked archer in the World authorized by FITA (Federation Internationale de Trial Arc) was perticipated in this experiment. When shooting 60 shots($12{\times}5$), shooting motions were recorded with 7 infrared cameras and 2 ultrahigh-speed cameras. A QTM and an Auto Track were used to acquire raw data. The sampling rates of both cameras were 200 Hz. and 1000 Hz. respectively and data were filtered using a fourth order Butterworth low pass filtering with a cutoff-frequency of 30Hz. The parameters were calculated with Matlab6.5 and analyzed with SPSS11.0. After Pearson's correlations between 8 parameters were analyzed, 5 parameters from 13parameters that affected records were analyzed with multiple regression analysis (Enter order: x1, x2, x3, x4, x5). The results were as follows: 1. Comparing between parameters according to scores, the patterns of horizontal and vertical angular velocity(av.) of scapular relative angle was different between 8 score and 9 or 10 scores. 2. The correlations of parameters that affected records were a horizontal av.(x1, p=.032<.05) and a vertical av.(x3, p=.033<.05) of scapular from release to delivery in KB back-tension (anchoring-delivery). 3. The decision coefficients(R2) of above two parameters and three parameters selected by experts that may affect record, that is, an absolute trunk angle(x4) from in KKC back-tension (anchoring-release) and a horizontal relative scapular angle(x2) and an absolute trunk angle(x5) from release to delivery in KB back-tension were 7.7%(x1), 0.1%(x2), 8.5%(x3), 0.7%(x4) and 0.9%(x5) in sequence. 4. The multiple regression equation was a y= -1.16E-2 x1 + 0.109 x2 + 3.437E-2 x3 + 6.139E-2 x4 + 0.117 x5 + 3.420 In conclusion, a total contribution was low, that is, R2(17.9%) suggested that on the one hand, Lim's motion may not depend on a certain factor because his postural factors affected shooting motion are some stable on the other hand, unknown factors may exist(e.g. psychological, physiological factors etc.). Further study of EMG patterns of muscles and anatomic consideration related to shoulder girdle and scapular bones may help to identify mechanism of Back-Tension.

Photoluminescience properties for CdIn2Te4 single crystal grown by Bridgman method

  • Single crystal of p-$CdIn_{2}Te_{4}$ was grown in a three-stage vertical electric furnace by using Bridgman method. The quality of the grown crystal has been investigated by x-ray diffraction and photoluminescence measurements. From the photoluminescence spectra of the as-grown $CdIn_{2}Te_{4}$ crystal and the various heat-treated crystals, the ($D^{o}$, X) emission was found to be the dominant intensity in the photoluminescence spectrum of the $CdIn_{2}Te_{4}$:Cd, while the ($A^{o}$, X) emission completely disappeared in the $CdIn_{2}Te_{4}$:Cd. However, the ($A^{o}$, X) emission in the photoluminescence spectrum of the $CdIn_{2}Te_{4}$:Te was the dominant intensity like in the as-grown $CdIn_{2}Te_{4}$ crystal. These results indicated that the ($D^{o}$, X) is associated with $V_{Te}$ which acted as donor and that the ($A^{o}$, X) emission is related to $V_{Cd}$ which acted as acceptor, respectively. The p-$CdIn_{2}Te_{4}$ crystal was obviously found to be converted into n-type after annealing in Cd atmosphere. The origin of ($D^{o},{\;}A^{o}$) emission and its to phonon replicas is related to the interaction between donors such as $V_{Te}$ or $Cd_{int}$, and acceptors such as $V_{Cd}$ or $Te_{int}$. Also, the In in the $CdIn_{2}Te_{4}$ was confirmed not to form the native defects because it existed in a stable bonding form.

투습방수의류의 착용쾌적성 평가 (Assessment of Wear Comfort of Water-vapor-permeable (WVP) garments)

  • This study evaluates wear comforts of water-vapor-permeable (WVP) garments through a measurement of various parameters such as skin and rectal temperatures, microclimate between skin and clothing, sweat rate, and subjective sensations (thermal, wet and comfort sensations) to correlate the physiological responses of the human body with its comfort feeling. Wear comfort during a specific exercise on a treadmill in a climatic chamber (temperature T = $20{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity H = $50{\pm}10%$) were studied using eight men wearing seven sportswear outfits (a long sleeve shirts and a long pants) made with seven different WVP fabrics. A comfort sensation was found to be highly correlated with skin T (p<.001), microclimate (T and H) between skin and clothing (p<.001) and sweat rate (p<.05). A regression model correlating comfort sensations and physiological responses obtained from wearer trials could be established: Y = 14.167 - 0.362 ${\times}$ X1 + 0.424 ${\times}$ X2 - 0.238 ${\times}$ X3 - 0.561 ${\times}$ X4 + 0.253 ${\times}$ X5 + 0.214 ${\times}$ X6 - 0.393 ${\times}$ X7 + 0.023 ${\times}$ X8 - 0.043 ${\times}$ X9. (Y = comfort sensation, X1 = forehead skin T, X2 = forearm skin T, X3 = hand skin T, X4 = thigh skin T, X5 = T of chest microclimate, X6 = T of thigh microclimate, X7 = chest sweat rate, X8 = H of back microclimate, X9 = H of thigh microclimate. The regression model obtained in this work can be used by manufacturers to objectively estimate the comfort sensation of sportswear before it is introduced to the consumer market. This study provides salient information to sportswear manufacturers and sportswear consumers.

Optical and Optoelectric Properties of PbCdS Ternary Thin Films Deposited by CBD

  • $Pb_{x}Cd_{1-x}S$ films are prepared in the composition range of 0.05${\leq}x{\leq}$0.25, using a chemical bath deposition growth technique under optimum conditions amide at realizing good photo response. The x-ray diffraction results show that the films are of PbS-CdS composite with individual CdS and PbS planes. The films exhibit two direct band gaps, 2.4 eV attributed to CdS, while the other varies continuously from 2.4 eV to 1.3 eV. The films surface morphology is smooth with crystallite, whose grain size increases with increasing mole fraction (x). The decrease in band gap with increase in lead concentration suggests inter-metallic compound of PbS (Eg=0.41 eV) with CdS (Eg=2.4 eV)
