  • Triplets of identical cubesats will be built to carry out the following scientific objectives: i) multi-observations of ionospheric ENA (Energetic Neutral Atom) imaging, ii) ionospheric signature of suprathermal electrons and ions associated with auroral acceleration as well as electron microbursts, and iii) complementary measurements of magnetic fields for particle data. Each satellite, a cubesat for ion, neutral, electron, and magnetic fields (CINEMA), is equipped with a suprathermal electron, ion, neutral (STEIN) instrument and a 3-axis magnetometer of magnetoresistive sensors. TRIO is developed by three institutes: i) two CINEMA by Kyung Hee University (KHU) under the WCU program, ii) one CINEMA by UC Berkeley under the NSF support, and iii) three magnetometers by Imperial College, respectively. Multi-spacecraft observations in the STEIN instruments will provide i) stereo ENA imaging with a wide angle in local times, which are sensitive to the evolution of ring current phase space distributions, ii) suprathermal electron measurements with narrow spacings, which reveal the differential signature of accelerated electrons driven by Alfven waves and/or double layer formation in the ionosphere between the acceleration region and the aurora, and iii) suprathermal ion precipitation when the storm-time ring current appears. In addition, multi-spacecraft magnetic field measurements in low earth orbits will allow the tracking of the phase fronts of ULF waves, FTEs, and quasi-periodic reconnection events between ground-based magnetometer data and upstream satellite data.

  • Purpose: Although there have been several studies of reduced airway space after mandibular setback surgery using the sagittal split ramus osteotomy technique, research on the risk factors for changes of the airway space is lacking. Therefore, this study was performed to examine airway changes and the position of the hyoid bone after orthognathic surgery, and to assess possible risk factors. Methods: In this retrospective study, 50 patients who underwent posterior displacement of the mandible by the bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy technique were included. Changes of the position of the hyoid bone and the airway space were analyzed over various follow-up periods, using cephalometric radiography taken preoperatively, immediately after surgery, eight weeks after surgery, six months after surgery, and one year after surgery. To identify risk factors, multiple regression analysis of age, gender, body mass index (BMI), posterior mandibular movement, and the presence of genioplasty was performed. Results: Inferor and posterior movement of the hyoid bone was observed postoperatively, but subsequent observations showed regression towards the anterosuperior aspect. The airway space also significantly decreased after surgery (P<0.05), and increased slightly up until six months after surgery. The airway space significantly decreased (${\beta}=0.47$, P<0.01) as the amount of mandibular setback increased. However, age, sex, BMI, and presence of genioplasty were not associated with airway reduction. Conclusion: The amount of mandibular set back was significantly associated with postoperative reduction of airway space. It is necessary to establish a treatment plan considering this factor.

  • We observed Comet Machholz (C/2004Q2) using the BOES (BOao Echelle Spectograph) at the Bohyunsan Observatory on January 4, 2005. We have studied a wavelength range of $4800{\sim}8100{\AA}$ in order to investigate unidentified spectral lines in the high-resolution spectra of Machholz. We compared the Machholz spectra with the high-resolution spectra of previous comets: Swift-Tuttle, Brorsen-Metcalf, Austin, and 122P/de Vico. We identified many molecular lines, which are previously unknown; and these identifications will be useful information for studying high-resolution spectra of future comets.

  • We have estimated the fractal dimension of the molecular clouds associated with the Hii region Sh 156 in the Outer Galaxy. We selected the $^{12}CO$ cube data from the FCRAO CO Survey of the Outer Galaxy. Using a developed code within IRAF, we identified slice-clouds (2-dimensional clouds in velocity-channel maps) with two threshold temperatures to estimate the fractal dimension. With the threshold temperatures of 1.8 K, and 3 K, we identified 317 slice-clouds and 217 slice-clouds, respectively. There seems to be a turn-over location in fractional dimension slope around NP (area; number of pixel) = 40. The fractal dimensions was estimated to be D = $1.5\;{\sim}\;1.53$ for $NP\;{\geq}\;40$, where $P\;{\propto}\;A^{D/2}$ (P is perimeter and A is area), which is slightly larger than other results. The sampling rate (spatial resolution) of observed data must be an important parameter when estimating fractal dimension. Fractal dimension is apparently invariant when varying the threshold temperatures applied to slice-clouds identification.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the marginal and internal gap of zirconia copings fabricated by CAD/CAM system and to research the effect of cement space on the fit of zirconia prosthesis. Methods: Zirconia copings were designed using 3shape software and then milled from presintered zirconia blocks by Kavo dental milling machine. The cement space was set at $0{\mu}m$ around the margins for all groups, and additional cement space appling 1 mm above the finish lines of tooth. The samples were classified into 4 groups according to the cement space setting(Cs-0, Cs-40, Cs-80, Cs-120). Replica technique used to investigate marginal and internal gap. The silicone film thickness was recorded using a optical microscope with image software analysis system at 75${\times}$magnification. The assessment performed on the six points in bucco-lingual and mesio-distal sections(4 groups, 10 copings per group, 12 measuring points per coping). The data were statistically analyzed with one-way ANOVA followed by pair-wise Tukey's post hoc tests(${\alpha}$<0.05). Results: Better marginal and internal fit values were exhibited by $80{\mu}m$ cement space. The results showed that different cement space values had statistically significant effect on the marginal and internal gap of zirconia copings(p<0.001). The gap of margin and axial wall area was smaller than that the gap of occlusal area in all groups(p<0.001). Conclusion : Effect of different cement spaces on the marginal and internal gap of zirconia copings.

  • This paper deals with the classifying spaces of finite groups. To any finite group G we associate a space BG with the property that .pi.$_{1}$(BG)=G, .pi.$_{i}$ (BG)=0 for i>1. BG is called the classifying space of G. Consider the problem of finding a stable splitting BG= $X_{1}$$^{V}$ $X_{1}$$^{V}$..$^{V}$ $X_{n}$ localized at pp. Ideally the $X_{i}$ 's are indecomposable, thus displaying the homotopy type of BG in the simplest terms. Such a decomposition naturally splits $H^{*}$(BG). The main purpose of this paper is to give the classification theorem in stable homotopy theory for groups with periodic cohomology i.e. cyclic Sylow p-subgroups for p an odd prime and to calculate some universal stable element. In this paper, all cohomology groups are with Z/p-coefficients and p is an odd prime.prime.

• Given the anisotropic Poisson equation $-{\nabla}{\cdot}{\mathcal{K}}{\nabla}p=f$, one can convert it into a system of two first order PDEs: the Darcy law for the flux $u=-{\mathcal{K}{\nabla}p$ and conservation of mass ${\nabla}{\cdot}u=f$. A very natural mixed finite volume method for this system is to seek the pressure in the nonconforming P1 space and the Darcy velocity in the lowest order Raviart-Thomas space. The equations for these variables are obtained by integrating the two first order systems over the triangular volumes. In this paper we show that such a method is really a standard finite element method with local recovery of the flux in disguise. As a consequence, we compare two approaches in analyzing finite volume methods (FVM) and shed light on the proper way of analyzing non co-volume type of FVM. Numerical results for Dirichlet and Neumann problems are included.

  • In this paper, we use a generalized Brownian motion process to define a generalized Feynman integral and a generalized Fourier-Feynman transform. We also define the concepts of the multiple Lp analytic generalized Fourier-Feynman transform and the generalized convolution product of functional on function space $C_{a,\;b}[0,\;T]$. We then verify the existence of the multiple $L_{p}$ analytic generalized Fourier-Feynman transform for functional on function space that belong to a Banach algebra $S({L_{a,\;b}}^{2}[0, T])$. Finally we establish some relationships between the multiple $L_{p}$ analytic generalized Fourier-Feynman transform and the generalized convolution product for functionals in $S({L_{a,\;b}}^{2}[0, T])$.
