Design and Implementation of a Linearizer Using the Feedforward Loop without Delay Lines (지연 선로가 없는 Feedforward Loop를 이용한 선형화기의 설계 및 제작)

  • This paper presents a linearizer using the feedforward loop which can be applied to PCS base-station applications. This linearizer used a IM amplifier and an auxiliary amplifier in order to remove delay lines used in the predistortor using the feedforward technique. The delay line in error loop is changed by the main power amplifier(PA) and the error amplifier is utilized to amplify the error signal which fed to the output of main amplifier. The linearizer was simulated by HP ADS ver 1.1 and fabricated on GML 1000 with thickness of 0.8 mm and dielectric constant of 3.2. Two-tone signals at 1.85 GHz and 1.851 GHz with -7dBm/tone from synthesizers are injected into the main PA. The main PA with a 27 dB gain and a $P_{1dB}$ of 29 dBm(two-tone) was utilized. The reduction of intermodulation distortion (IMD) is around 17 dB.

A Study on the Magnetic Field Improvement for 13.56MHz RFID Reader Antenna (13.56MHz RFID 리더 안테나의 자계 필드 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we suggested a new antenna structure for the RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) reader. The conventional RFID reader uses a loop antenna. The central area of a loop antenna shows a low magnetic field strength, especially for the case of a large loop antenna diameter. We proposed a parallel-fed multiple loop antenna. Simulation and measurement were carried out for a single loop antenna, series-fed and parallel-fed multiple loop antennas. Simulation results show that we can obtain 0.40A/m, 0.68A/m, 1.98A/m of magnetic field strengths at the central point of a reader antenna for a single loop antenna, series-fed and parallel-fed multiple loop antennas, respectively. We measured the $79mm{\time}48mm$ tag area averaged induced voltages with applying 20Vp-p same source signals to reader antennas through the resistors. Measured tag area averaged induced voltages at the central point of a reader antennas were 0.76V, 1.45V, 4.04V for a single loop antenna series-fed and parallel-fed multiple loop antennas, respectively. The results show that we can get high induced voltage which can grantee a longer reading distance with a proposed parallel-fed multiple loop antenna.

Phosphate Removal from Aqueous Solution by Aluminum (Hydr)oxide-coated Sand

  • A powder form of aluminum (hydr)oxides is not suitable in wastewater treatment/filtration systems because of low hydraulic conductivity and large sludge production. In this study, aluminum (hydr)oxide-coated sand (AOCS) was used to remove phosphate from aqueous solution. The properties of AOCS were analyzed using a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) combined with an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS) and an X-ray diffractometer (XRD). Kinetic batch, equilibrium batch, and closed-loop column experiments were performed to examine the adsorption of phosphate to AOCS. The XRD pattern indicated that the powder form of aluminum (hydr)oxides coated on AOCS was similar to a low crystalline boehmite. Kinetic batch experiments demonstrated that P adsorption to AOCS reached equilibrium after 24 h of reaction time. The kinetic sorption data were described well by the pseudo second-order kinetic sorption model, which determined the amount of P adsorbed at equilibrium ($q_e$ = 0.118 mg/g) and the pseudo second-order velocity constant (k = 0.0036 g/mg/h) at initial P concentration of 25 mg/L. The equilibrium batch data were fitted well to the Freundlich isotherm model, which quantified the distribution coefficient ($K_F$ = 0.083 L/g), and the Freundlich constant (1/n = 0.339). The closed-loop column experiments showed that the phosphate removal percent decreased from 89.1 to 41.9% with increasing initial pH from 4.82 to 9.53. The adsorption capacity determined from the closed-loop experiment was 0.239 mg/g at initial pH 7.0, which is about two times greater than that ($q_e$ = 0.118 mg/g) from the kinetic batch experiment at the same condition.

Effect of Pressure on Solids Flow Characteristics in Recycle System of a Circulating Fluidized Bed (순환유동층 재순환부 내 고체흐름 특성에 대한 시스템 압력의 영향)

  • Solids flow characteristics have been determined in a pressurized solids recycle systems of silica sand particles for the application in a pressurized CFB(PCFB). The solids recycle system is composed of a downcomer(0.10 m i.d. 2.25 m high) and a loop-seal(0.10 m i.d.). The silica sand($d_p=240{\mu}m$, ${\rho}_s=2582kg/m^3$) particles were transported at room temperature and system pressure($P_{sys}$) up to 0.71 MPa using air. Solids mass flux($G_s$) increases with increasing system pressure at constant aeration rate. Pressure gradient, solids velocity and actual gas velocity increase with increasing $P_{sys}$ at constant aeration rate. The Pressure drop number($\Phi$) on pressure gradient in downcomer has been correlated with Transportation number(Tr). Pressure drop across the loop-seal increases with increasing of $G_s$ irrespective of variation of $P_{sys}$. The obtained $G_s$ and Transportation number(Tr) have been correlated with the experimental variables.

  • Closed loop stability of Extended Dynamic Matrix Control (EDMC) is investigated for limited sampling time. Linear approximation of the sensitivity functions is employed in the derivation of the stability condition. It is shown that the closed loop system will be stable if the control moves suppression coefficient ${\lambda}$ is taken arbitrarily large. Special cases such as M=P=1 and M=1, P>1 are discussed in more details.

  • The purpose of smart grid is the low $CO_2$ through expansion of renewable energy. To achieve the purpose of smart grid, typical radial power distribution system will be changed to loop power distribution system. The loop power distribution system have many advantages such as low power loss, low voltage drop, and increase of connection of renewable energy. In this paper, the algorithm for minimization of interrupted section of power distribution system is proposed through communication between circuit breaker and recloser in loop power distribution system.   • This paper presents a method to assign robustly the closed loop system's poles in a specified disk by a state feedback for a linear time invariant system with structured or unstructured uncertainties. THe proposed robust design procedure includes two steps. Firstly, the perturbed closed loop matrix $A_{cl p}$ = $A_{cl}$ + Δ$A_{cl}$ is rearranged such that it is a function of the nominal closed loop matrix $A_{cl}$. Hence, we can control the positions of the perturbed closed loop poles by choosing $A_{cl}$ appropriately. Secondly, the feedback control law F that assigns the closed loop poles of the perturbed system in a specified disk is determined from the equation $A_{cl}$ = A + BF. A procedure for finding F is proposed based on partitioning every matrix of the equation $A_{cl}$ = A + BF in the horizontal direction.

  • A two-degree-of freedom (TDF) $H_{\infty}$controller for a seeker scan loop is presented for the purpose of improving scanning performances. The perturbed plant model is characterized via the normalized coprime factorization. The TDF $H_{\infty}$controller is designed based on the loop shaping design procedure and model matching approach, and its performances are evaluated and compared with those of a previous work. It is demonstrated that the proposed TDF $H_{\infty}$controller is more effective to the control of the seeker scan loop than the previous controller.oller.
