The shape retention finishing provides a fabric for easiness of no-ironing after laundering. In spite of the obvious importance of the new finishing treatment, few systematic studies have been performed on the handle of the fabrics finished by the durable press process. The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationships among the mechanical properties, durable press conditions, primary hand values and the total hand value of the fabrics finished by shape retention process. In this experiment, durable press grade of unfinished fabrics decreased below 2.5, but those of finished fabrics maintained above 4, but the mechanical properties of finished fabrics did not change significantly after laundering. In finished fabrics, D.P. value were correlated with mechanical properties, but had little effects with H.V. and T.H.V. Since the evaluation of the effect of durable press process was done with the naked eyes and standard sample, we could not know exactly change o( mechanical properties, but trace the change of mechanical properties which gave influences on the durable press effects by using KES-FB System.
The xylnX gene encoding a xylanase from Clostridium thermocellum ATCC27405 was cloned in the plasmid pJH27, an E. coli-Bacillus shuttle vector and the resultant recombinant plasmid, pJX18 was transformed into E. coli HB101. The overexpressed xylanase was found to be secreted into the periplasmic space of the recombinant E. coli cells. The crude enzyme was obtained by treating the E. coli cells with lysozyme, and purified by DEAE-Sepharose column chromatography. Molecular wieght of the xylanase was estimated to be 53 kDa by gel filtration. The pI value was determined to be pH 8.8. The N-terminal sequence of the enzyme protein was Asp-Asp-Asn-Asn-Ala-Asn-Leu-Val-Ser-Asn which was considered to be the sequence of that of the mature form protein. The Km value of the enzyme for oat spelt xylan was calculated to be 2.63 mg/ml and the Vmax value was $0.47 {\mu}mole/min$. The xylanase had a pH optimum for its activity at pH 5.4 and a temperature optimum at $60^{\circ}C$. The enzyme hydrolyzed xylan into xylooligosaccharides which were composed mainly of xylobiose (40%) and xyloltriose (12%) after 5 hour reaction. This result indicates that the xylanase from C. thermocellum ATCC27405 is an endo-acting enzyme.
Purpose: This study is for compared the change of corneal refractive power before and after wearing of rigid gas permeable contact lense with diagnostic method which is 1 D flatter than alignment fitting on right eye and alignment fitting on left eye for 2 months and investigate the preference. Methods: Twenty middle school and high school students (40 eyes) who had never worn a contact lense before for no corneal topographical change, no ocular disease, no experience of ophthalmic surgery and have normal tear amount were selected for this study and corneal refractive power were examined before wearing rigid gas permeable contact lense and adaptation status and corneal examination were performed after 10 days of wearing and after cheking up the continuation of wearing, all candidate wear contact lens 8 hours per day for 2 month and corneal refractive power were compared. Results: After 2 months of wearing with 1 D flatter than the alignment fitting on right eyes, there was significant difference in the central corneal refractive power was $43.84{\pm}1.33D$, flat K power was $43.05{\pm}1.29D$, and steep K power was $44.61{\pm}1.42D$ decreased than before wearing (p<0.001, 0.001, 0.047). The e-value of the principal meridians also shows statistically significant difference (p=0.037, 0.015). After 2 months of wearing with alignment fitting on left eyes, the central corneal refractive power was $44.40{\pm}1.26D$, flat K power was $43.57{\pm}1.23D$. and flat K e-value was $0.58{\pm}0.05$ which showed no statistically significant difference (p = 0.769, 0.614, 0.181). But steep K power was $45.25{\pm}1.36$, and steep K e-value was $0.45{\pm}0.18$ which shows statistically significant difference (p=0.018, 0.027). Conclusions: Consider the comfort, clear vision, dryness for preference fitting investment, 6 students (30%) prefer right eye which is 1 D flatter fitting, 14 students (70%) prefer left eye which is alignment fitting. For rigid gas permeable fitting needed for accurate examination and should prescribe the alignment fitting which is suitable for each cornea.
Purpose: Changes of refractive correction value in different age group were investigated. Regarding the inhibitive effects against myopia progression after wearing reverse geometry contact lenses and myopia control lenses (MC lenses), the effects after wearing single vision lenses were compared. Methods: We organized children between the ages of six and fifteen into three groups by age, and distributed fifty-seven reverse geometry contact lenses, fifty-six MC lenses and seventy-eight single vision lenses among them to be worn. Group 1 consisted of children aged ten and under, Group 2 consisted of children between the ages of eleven and fifteen, and Group 3 represents all of the study participants. The aim of this study was to learn the inhibitive effects against myopia progression attained by changes of refractive correction value and to verify their statistical significance at twelve months and under, thirteen to twenty-four months and twenty-five to thirty-six months. Results: Changes of refractive correction value by each length of use in Group 3 were as follows. For the age group of under twelve months, participants using the reverse geometric contact lens showed no change, while those using the MC or single vision lens had significant changes (P<0.05) of $-0.36{\pm}0.10$ D and $-0.67{\pm}0.52$ D, respectively. Users of all three lens types displayed significant change (P<0.05), in the age group of between thirteen and twenty-four months, of $0.18{\pm}0.49$ D, $0.60{\pm}0.42$ D and $1.37{\pm}0.72$ D for users of the reverse geometry contact lens, the MC lens and the single vision lens, respectively. There were significant changes (P<0.05) of $0.29{\pm}0.61$ D, $0.93{\pm}0.57$ D and $1.72{\pm}0.78$ in the same respective order as the above in the age group of twenty-five to thirty-six months. Refractive correction value showed changes with different age group. Group 1 displayed significant changes (P<0.05) of $0.29{\pm}0.73$ D, $1.07{\pm}0.59$ D and $1.75{\pm}0.74$ D for users of the reverse geometry contact lens, MC lens and single vision lens, respectively, up to thirty-six months of lens wearing; Group 2, also up to thirty-six months, displayed significant changes (P<0.05) of $0.28{\pm}0.42$ D, $0.75{\pm}0.49$ D and $1.70{\pm}0.84$ D in the same respective order, and changes in refractive correction for the age group under ten years was significantly greater (P<0.05) for the age group of eleven and older. Conclusions: The results found in this study demonstrate that there were no changes of refractive correction value for the case of wearing reversing geometry contact lens up to twelve month or less. MC lens showed less changes in variations of visual acuity for all users which might be resulted in inhibiting progression of myoptia. When both reverse geometry contact lens and the MC lens are wearing for the period from 13 to 36 month, both lens showed less changes in variation of visual acuity for all users. The results suggested that the less changes in variation of visual acuity of both lens had an effect on inhibiting progression of myopia.
We study the existence of an intermediate solution of nonlinear elliptic boundary value problems (BVP) of the form $$ (BVP) {\Delta u = f(x,u,\Delta u), in \Omega {Bu(x) = \phi(x), on \partial\Omega, $$ where $\Omega$ is a smooth bounded domain in $R^n, n \geq 1, and \partial\Omega \in C^{2,\alpha}, (0 < \alpha < 1), \Delta$ is the Laplacian operator, $\nabla u = (D_1u, D_2u, \cdots, D_nu)$ denotes the gradient of u and $$ Bu(x) = p(x)u(x) + q(x)\frac{d\nu}{du} (x), $$ where $\frac{d\nu}{du} denotes the outward normal derivative of u on $\partial\Omega$.
In this paper we consider the problem of whether certain homogeneous or non-homogeneous differential polynomials in f(z) necessarily have infinitely many zeros. Particularly, this extends a result of Gopalakrishna and Bhoosnurmath [3, Theorem 2] for a general differential polynomial of degree $\bar{d}$(P) and lower degree $\underline{d}$(P).
In halobacterial membrane, pharaonis phoborhodopsin (or pharaonis sensory rhdopsin II, psRII) forms a complex with its transducer pHtrII. Flash-photolyis of D75N mutant did not yield M-intermediate but an O-like intermediate is observed. We examined the interaction between D75N of ppR and t-Htr (truncated pHtrII). These formed a complex in the presence of n-dodecyl-$\beta$-D-maltoside, and the association accelerated the decay of the 0 of D75N from 15 to 56 s$\^$-1/. From the decay time constants under varying ratios of D75N and t-Htr, n, the molar ratio of D75N/t-Htr in the complex, and K$\_$D/, the dissociation constant, were estimated. The value of n was unity and K$\_$D/ was estimated to 146 nM. This K$\_$D/ value can be considered as the association between the photo-intermediate and t-Htr, which is deduced by the method of estimation. Previously we (Photochem. Photobiol. 74, 489-494 (2001)) reported K$\_$D/ of 15 $\mu$M for the interaction between the wild-type and t-Htr by means of the change of M-decay rates. Therefore, this value should be the K$\_$D/ value for the interaction between M of the wild-type and t-Htr.
Background: Cancer of the gallbladder is a relatively rare neoplasm with a poor prognosis. The exact mechanisms of its genesis are not known and very little information is available on molecular events leading to labeling this as an orphan cancer. Materials and Methods: In this prospective case control study we evaluated the expression of p16, pRb and cyclin D1 by immunohistochemistry to study the G1-S cell-cycle check point and its possible role in gallbladder carcinogenesis. A total of 25 patients with gallbladder carcinoma (group I), 25 with cholelithiasis (group II) and 10 normal controls. were enrolled Results: Cyclin D1 expression was seen in 10 (40%) patients each with carcinoma and cholelithiasis while only in 2 (20%) of the normal gallbladders but differences were not statistically significant (p value=0.488). p16 was expressed in 12% patients of carcinoma of the gallbladder and 28% of cholelithiasis, however this difference was not statistically significant (p value=0.095). Retinoblastoma protein was found to be expressed in 50% of normal gallbladders and 6 (24%) of carcinoma and 8 (32%) of gallstones. The present study failed to demonstrate any conclusive role of cyclin D1/RB/ p16 pathway in carcinoma of the gallbladder. Conclusions: The positive relation observed between tumor metastasis and cyclinD1 expression and p16 with nodal metastasis suggested that higher cyclin D1/p16 expression may act as a predictive biomarker for aggressive behavior of gallbladder malignancies.
This in vitro study compared the microleakage of 4 lining conditions when used with Gallium alloy GF II and Valiant PhD. Class V cavity was prepared on both buccal and lingual surface of 80 extracted human premolar & molar teeth with one margin in enamel and another in dentin. Before restoration, prepared cavities were applied to no-liner, cavity varnish, Scotchbond multipurpose, and Superbond D-liner II plus according to manufacture's instructions. The restored teeth were stored in saline for 1 week, then thermocycled for 100 times, stained with 0.5% basic fuchsin dye for 1 day, sectioned, and observed using a light microscope. Following results were obtained. 1. The leakage value of Superbond-lined group showed significantly lower than that of nolined group on both margins of Valiant PhD(p<0.05). 2; There was no significant difference between the 4 lining conditions in Gallium alloy GF II (p>0.05). 3. When We make a comparison between Gallium alloy GF II and Valiant PhD under same lining conditions, the microleakage value of Gallium alloy GF II showed lower than that of Valiant PhD on occlusal & gingival margin(p<0.05) except for Superbond-lined group(p>0.05).

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of the packaging method on the lipid and protein oxidation, and color in aged top round from Hanwoo (Korean native cattle) for 14 d at $4^{\circ}C$. Catalase activity was the highest (p<0.05) in vacuum packaging (VP) treatment during storage, and was higher (p<0.05) in 50% Ox-MAP and 50% Ox-MAP+vacuum skin packaging (VSP) treatments than in other treatments at d 14. Superoxide dismutase activity was higher (p<0.05) in VP, 50% Ox-MAP, and 50% Ox-MAP+VSP treatments than in other treatments at d 14. During storage, total antioxidant activity was the highest (p<0.05) in VP treatment and was higher (p<0.05) in 50% Ox-MAP+VSP treatment than in 80% Ox-MAP treatment. TBARS value was the lowest (p<0.05) in VP treatment during storage and was lower (p<0.05) in 50% Ox-MAP and Ox-MAP+VSP treatments than in 80% Ox-MAP and Ox-MAP treatments, respectively. Carbonyl content was the lowest (p<0.05) in VP treatment from 10 d. From 7 d, the $a^*$ value was the highest (p<0.05) in VP treatment and was higher (p<0.05) in 50% Ox-MAP and 50% Ox-MAP+VSP treatments than in other treatments. The $b^*$ value was the highest (p<0.05) in VP treatment from 3 d, and was higher (p<0.05) in 80% Ox-MAP+VSP, 50% Ox-MAP, and 50% Ox-MAP+ VSP treatments than in 80% Ox-MAP treatment at d 14. Therefore, VP improved the oxidation and red color stabilities in stored-aged top round compared with Ox-MAP. In addition, 50% Ox-MAP improved the lipid oxidation and red color stabilities compared with 80% Ox-MAP, and its inhibitory effect on lipid oxidation was enhanced by combination with VSP.
