적층가공된 티타늄 합금의 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 불산의 영향 (Effect of Hydrofluoric Acid on the Electrochemical Properties of Additive Manufactured Ti and Its Alloy)

  • In this study, the electrochemical properties of CP-Ti (commercially pure titanium) and Ti-64 (Ti-6Al-4V) were evaluated and the effect of hydrofluoric acid on corrosion resistance and electrochemical properties was elucidated. Additive manufactured materials were made by DMT (Directed Metal Tooling) method. Samples were heat-treated for 1 hour at $760^{\circ}C$ and then air cooled. Surface morphologies were studied by optical microscope and SEM. Electrochemical properties were evaluated by anodic polarization method and AC-impedance measurement. The oxide film formed on the surface was analyzed using an XPS. The addition of HF led to an increase in the passive current density and critical current density and decreased the polarization resistance regardless of the alloys employed. Based on the composition of the oxide film, the compositional difference observed by the addition of HF was little, regardless of the nature of alloys. The Warburg impedance obtained by AC-impedance measurement indicates the dissolution of the constituents of CP-Ti and Ti-64 through a porous oxide film.

  • The electrical conductivity of manganese oxide and complex manganese oxide produced by anodic deposition method was measured. The additive transition metal is Cu, Co and Fe. The transition metals like as Cu, Co and Fe improved electrical conductivity of complex manganese oxide compared with manganese oxide. This is coincide with the results of molecular orbital calculation by DV-Xa.

적조방제용 황토살포의 양을 줄일 수 있는 첨가제에 대한 연구 (Additive Materials to Reduce the Amount of Loess Being Applied for Red Tide Removal on Coastal Water)

  • Large scale of loess has been applied on the south - sea shore of the Korean peninsula to treat red tides, due to many fishery's devastation by red tides every year. However, coastal ecosystem is ruined by the huge amount of loess applied every year. Almost all creatures, living under water such as sea weeds, clams, and fishes, where loess was applied, are disappearing. In this paper, alternative methods of the loess application are investigated. The amount of loess could be reduced by the alternative methods, Especially, loess mixed with calcium oxide has excellent effects to reduce Cochlodinium polykrikoides numbers. It was found that when loess is used with calcium oxide(CaO), removal efficiency of red tides is highly increased. Moreover, the amount of loess could be reduced dramatically.

  • 최근 휴대용 기기의 급속한 발전이 이뤄지고, 다양한 전자제품에서 높은 성능의 이차 전지가 요구됨에 따라 고에너지밀도 특성을 가능케 하는 전극 재료의 연구가 주목받고 있다. 음극의 경우, 기존에 사용하고 있는 흑연재료를 대체하기 위하여 실리콘, 주석 등의 소재와 전이금속 산화물을 새로운 음극재료로 사용하려고 한다. 리튬 바나듐 옥사이드는 리튬 전이금속 산화물 기반의 음극 소재로서 흑연 대비 1.5배의 부피당 용량을 나타낼 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있으나, 낮은 전기전도도와 입자 파쇄현상으로 인하여 전해질의 분해가 가속화되어 성능이 열화되는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 개선시키기 위하여 전해질 첨가제를 도입하여 전극/전해질 계면의 개질에 따른 리튬 바나듐 옥사이드의 전기화학적 거동 특성을 보고자 하였다.

Effect of Lubricant Additives on the Surface Fatigue Performance of Gear Oils

  • The effect of additive chemistry on the serface fatigue of gears was investigated using the FZG gear tester and fluids based on an API GL-5 grade oil. Surface fatigue lives were determined as a function of load and additive chemistry. At 1.52 GPa, the removal of the primary extreme pressure additive (EP) from the fully formulated gear oil decreased the fatigue life of gears slightly (4%), however, the removal of the primary antiwear additive (AW) decreased the fatigue life of gears significantly (83%). At 1.86 GPa, the removal of the EP additive from the fully formulated gear oil decresed the gear fatigue life 27%, however, the removal of the primary AW additive decreased the fatigue life of gears significantly (75%). Micropitting was the dominant surface morphology in the dedendum of gears tested With two oils at load stage: one using the complete additive package, and a second where the EP additive has been removed. However, spalling is the primary failure mode of gears tested without an AW additive independent of whether an EP agent was present. Surface analysis of pinion gears showed the formation of a mixed phosphate/phosphite-oxide layer on the surface of gears tested with fluids containing an AW. Formation of this layer seems to be key to long fatigue life.

Oxynitride의 첨가에 의한 알루미나의 소결 (Sintering of Alumina in the Presence of Oxynitride Additives)

  • Y-Si oxide 및 oxynitride를 소결 조제로 첨가하여 질소를 함유하는 액상이 알루미나의 소결에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. $1400^{\circ}C$에서 하소된 소결 조제의 주 결정상은 $Y_2$$O_3$$SiO_2$의 반응에 의하여 생성된 $\alpha$-$Y_2$ $Y_2$$O_7$이며, N의 함량이 높은 Si-40N은 $\alpha$-$Y_2$$O_3$와 함께 Y-N apatite가 생성된다 소결과정에서 소결 조제로 알루미나의 일부와 반응하여 액상을 형성하며, 알루미나는 액상에 의하여 소결이 촉진된다. SEM으로 미세구조를 관찰한 결과 산화물 소결조제(Si-0N)를 첨가한 알루미나는 균일한 입자성장을 보이지만 oxynitride 소결소재(Si-20N 및 Si-40N)를 첨가한 알루미나는 비정상 입자성장을 일으켜 bimodal 구조를 나타내었으며, N의 함량이 높을수록 비정상 입자성장은 심하게 나타났다. 질소의 함량이 높은 Si-40N 조성의 소결 조제를 첨가한 알루미나는 bloating이 나타나며, 이것은 액상에 녹지 않는 과잉의 질소가 방출되기 때문이다.

Fe-Cr-Al 기 산화물 분산강화 합금의 미세조직에 미치는 분말제조 공정 영향 (Effect of Powder Synthesis Method on the Microstructure of Oxide Dispersion Strengthened Fe-Cr-Al Based Alloys)

  • An optimum route to fabricate oxide dispersion strengthened ferritic superalloy with desired microstructure was investigated. Two methods of high energy ball milling or polymeric additive solution route for developing a uniform dispersion of $Y_2O_3$ particles in Fe-Cr-Al-Ti alloy powders were compared on the basis of the resulting microstructures. Microstructural observation revealed that the crystalline size of Fe decreased with increases in milling time, to values of about 15-20 nm, and that an FeCr alloy phase was formed. SEM and TEM analyses of the alloy powders fabricated by solution route using yttrium nitrate and polyvinyl alcohol showed that the nano-sized Y-oxide particles were well distributed in the Fe based alloy powders. The prepared powders were sintered at 1000 and $1100^{\circ}C$ for 30 min in vacuum. The sintered specimen with heat treatment before spark plasma sintering at $1100^{\circ}C$ showed a more homogeneous microstructure. In the case of sintering at $1100^{\circ}C$, the alloys exhibited densified microstructure and the formation of large reaction phases due to oxidation of Al.

티타늄 실리콘 옥사이드 나노입자를 첨가제로 사용한 4-iodoaniline을 포함한 하이드로젤 착색 콘택트렌즈의 특성 (Characterization of Hydrogel Tinted Contact Lens Containing 4-iodoaniline using Titanium Silicon Oxide Nanoparticles as Additive)

  • 목적: 4-iodoaniline을 포함한 하이드로젤 콘택트렌즈 기본 재료에 티타늄 실리콘 산화물 나노입자를 첨가하여 친수성 착색 콘택트렌즈의 물리적 및 광학적 특성을 측정하고 제조된 고분자의 자외선 투과율을 측정하여 티타늄 실리콘 옥사이드 나노입자의 자외선 차단 안의료용 렌즈 소재로의 활용도 및 4-iodoaniline만을 기본 콘택트렌즈 재료에 공중합하여 두 실험군의 물성을 비교 분석하였다. 방법: 하이드로젤 렌즈 제조를 위해, HEMA, MA, MMA, 4-iodoaniline, 교차결합제인 EGDMA 및 개시제인 AIBN을 사용하여 공중합 하였다. 또한, 티타늄 실리콘 옥사이드 나노입자는 첨가제로 사용되었다. 중합 후 제조된 콘택트렌즈 재료의 함수율, 굴절률, 접촉각 및 분광투과율 등의 물리적 특성을 측정하였다. 결과: 하이드로젤 렌즈 고분자의 물성을 측정한 결과, 함수율 35.01~ 38.68%, 굴절률 1.4350~1.4418, 접촉각 $34.15{\sim}57.25^{\circ}$ 그리고 UV-B 투과율의 경우 1.0~10.0%의 범위로 나타났다. 또한 첨가제를 사용하지 않은 실험군에서는 함수율 34.0~36.8%, 굴절률 1.4378~1.4420, 접촉각 $40.15{\sim}60.16^{\circ}$ 그리고 UV-B 투과율의 경우 1.8~25.0% 범위의 분포를 나타내었다. 결론: 티타늄 실리콘 옥사이드 나노입자를 첨가한 조합에서 자외선 투과율이 크게 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Cold spray (Cold gas dynamic spray, kinetic spray) is the latest spray coating process that is known as solid state deposition process. In cold spray, inert gases (typically nitrogen and helium) accelerate powder particles prior to impact onto the substrate. Accelerating particles start to deposit onto the substrate after reaching certain critical velocities depending on the coating materials and substrate. Since process gas temperatures are kept below to melting temperature of the coating materials, it is possible to spray temperature sensitive materials such as copper and titanium, nanocrystal materials, and amorphous metals without affecting the phase change and oxide formation. It is also possible to deposit thick coatings because cold spray coatings present compressive residual stresses. This ability to deposit thick coatings is suitable to repair or rebuild parts as an additive manufacturing process. In this presentation, cold spray is introduced and compared to other additive manufacturing processes such as laser and electron beam based processes. It is also presented some applications especially in the view point of additive manufacturing process.

용융 Al-10wt.%Si 합금의 산화피 형성에 미치는 첨가원 (The Effect of Additive Elements on the Formation of Oxide Skins of AI-10wt.% Si Alloy Melts)

  • This study seeks to the morphological changes in the oxide skin of the Al-10wt.%si alloy melts. These changes depend on the oxidation time and the temperature of the molten alloy, as well as the effects of adding Mg, Cu and Ni. Thess affects observed by X-ray diffractometer(XRD) and scanning electron microscope(SEM)' Very litte oxide skins on Al-10wtwt.%Si alloy melts can be detected by XRD because it is less than the measuring capabillity of the XRD, or the formation of noncrystalline oxide skins oxide skins canbe deteced by SEM. The addition of 1%Mg and 1%Cu-1%Mg-2.5%Ni to this base alloy crystallized the structure of the oxide skins and increased the oxidation in proportion to the length of time, but adding 3% had hardiy anyaffect at all on the crystal structure of the oxide skins.
