Designing of a Global Logistics System for the ICGCPS under Considering Overseas Markets

  • This paper proposes a way of designing of a global logistics system for "the international cooperative global complementary production system" (ICGCPS) constructed in ASEAN region. ICGCPS is a global production system with several production bases located in a number of countries. In order to assemble the final products and sell them in the domestic market, each production base produces only special kinds of components and parts with the total demand required all the participating countries, and supplies them to the other production bases each other. In the ICGCPS, there are a number of important decision-making problems such as identifying which countries are suitable to produce specified components and parts, and deciding how to transport components and parts between the production bases. In the initial period of this system, each production base focused on its domestic market so that the final products it produced were sold only in the country where the base was located. Recently, some production bases have expanded sales to overseas markets. Taking this fact into account, we propose a production and transportation planning model in this paper that takes into account the export quantity of the final products, formulating it into a mathematical programming problem. Using this, we propose a way for managing the supply chain processes of the ICGCPS in order to improve performance measurements such as the total lead-time, the inventory quantity at the depot and the average rate of loading. A numerical example is presented to clarify the procedure proposed in this paper.

패션디자이너 직무수행을 위해 필요한 지식수준에 관한 연구 - 한국과 미국을 중심으로 - (The Level of Knowledge Required to Fulfill the Task of Fashion Design -A Cross-cultural Study between South Korea and the United States -)

  • Employees overseas have a need to prepare according to the different environments and industrial structures between countries. Therefore, to investigate qualities for fashion designers to possess when they work abroad, especially in the United States, this study compared the level of knowledge required to fulfill the work of fashion design in both South Korea and the United States. Responses from workers who are engaged to fashion design from the representative online career information systems of two countries, 'Worknet' in South Korea and '$O^*Net$' in the United States, were used as data. Looking at the result derived from the analysis of this study, first by comparing various statistical indicators, results showed the difference between knowledge level required to fashion designer in South Korea and in the United States. Even with the same type of job, because environments and industrial structures of each country are dissimilar, a different level of knowledge will be required in order to perform their tasks. Second, fashion designers in both South Korea and the United States required a high level of knowledge in the 'fine arts', 'administration and management', 'production and processing', and 'design' to perform their duties as a fashion designer. As a result, both countries have similarities that fashion designers need to possess a high level of the knowledge in areas such as 'production of products' as well as 'sales of products'. Furthermore, human relationship field of knowledge such as 'counseling', 'psychology', and 'communication' appeared to be more necessary to fashion designers in South Korea than those in the United States. On the other hand, higher degree of knowledge of 'machines and tools', ' fine arts', and 'transportation' appeared to be more necessary to fashion designers in the United States than those in South Korea.

한류 K-패션 활성화를 위한 전략 분석 연구 (An Analysis of a Strategy for the Activation of Korean Wave K-Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the characteristics and development direction of K-fashion and to systematize the strategic features performed by government agencies, fashion associations, fashion companies, and other companies to activate K-fashion. This research analyzed K-fashion related articles published in major newspapers and magazines in Korea from the late 1990s to early 2017. The results of the study are as follows. 1. The characteristics of K-fashion are as follows: The first is a trendy and sophisticated design with modern sensibilities, unique designs that reinterpret the latest trends with designer creativity, practical and popular designs that ordinary people can wear comfortably in everyday life. The second is functional and trendy materials. The third is excellent sewing technology. The fourth is rapid turnover of products by quick connections among planning, production and sales. The fifth is a lower price than quality. 2. The direction for K-fashion to pursue was the continuous and ongoing development of the above characteristics and the creation of a 'design with the Korean emotion of its 5,000 year history'. 3. The following projects were carried out to promote K-fashion. 1) Utilization of K-pop, K-drama and other Korean wave content. (1) Holding a fashion concert event that combines Idol's K-Pop performances with fashion shows. (2) Hallyu (Korean wave) star's costume support and design collaboration with Hallyu stars. (3) Collaboration between entertainment companies and fashion companies. 2) Nurturing a global fashion branding project. 3) Business support for overseas expansion of the K-fashion brand. (1) Support project for foreign trade fair participation. (2) Holding a fashion brand fair in Korea. (3) Overseas business support by establishing a showroom and design center 4) Business to discover and nurture new designers

국내 소재 컨버터의 소재 기획 프로세스에 대한 연구 (The Study concerning the Process of Textile Planning for Domestic Textile Converter)

  • The purpose of this paper was to figure out the status quo of development of textiles in fashion industry by analyzing through in-depth interview with domestic women's wear converters on the process of textile planning. Professionals in top3 domestic women's wear converters were selected and interviewed in-depth on actual work process of textile development. The result of the research is as follows. First, the interviewed converters were having transactions with entire domestic target market of women's clothing and also exporting to China. Second, production of textile was mostly domestic, with some from China. Third, the number of textile development was 20 - 50 items per season accordingly to size of converter, and the number was larger if taking into account the sourcing development, the special finished fabric development and the print design development. Fourth, for methods to gather information, converters got ideas through overseas exhibitions, overseas color swatch books, fashion-related web sites and market research. Fifth, when setting up direction of textiles, it was investigated that they had motif from in-trend material or on previous season's best-selling material. Sixth, textile planning map did not start from early in season but prefers in-progress board map. Seventh, ways for many method types for textile planning were found depending on sales type of converter and textile production price.

원예종묘산업의 현황과 발전전망 (Present Status and Prospects of Horticultural Seed Industry)

  • The horticultural seed industry has made great progress in the last fifty years of its history after the independence of this country. The industry has accomplished self-sufficiency in major vegetable seeds and has even gained international competitive edge in certain crop seeds, particularly in hybrid cultivar development. However, the industry is facing a crisis at present coming from excessive competition among the domestic seed companies as well as the foreign currency crisis of the country. Several major seed companies have already been acquired by multinational corporations. Many people in the country as well as agriculturists are concerned about this situation. Although it is true that the industry is undergoing hard times, this crisis can be turned into a chance for making new progress depending on the joint efforts of the groups responsible, i.e., private companies, public institutions, and policy makers. Therefore, we have to turn this crisis into an opportunity for self-reform and progress. We should not be discouraged or give up. We Propose some ideas for the Progress of the seed industry. Public institutions and policy makers should do such things in cooperation as 1) training human resources for future breeders, 2) securing a wide range of genetic resources and improvement of the management system, 3) basic science research including biotechnology, 4) releasing breeding stocks from germplasm enhancement through use of exotic accessions, 5) support for breeding region- or use-specific cultivars, and 6) collection of foreign agricultural information for breeding cultivars for overseas markets. Eventually the responsible group for the final development of commercial cultivars, production, sales and management is private companies. Therefore, private companies also should have to do their best to develop competitive cultivars with a missionary spirit and endeavor for both domestic and overseas markets in cooperation with public institutions. Management based on competition, professionalism and rationalism is also urged. We are going to conclude with optimism that we can make a new vault of progress once the private and public sectors closely cooperate for the development of Korean horticultural seed industry by overcoming this crisis.

플랜트 및 건설수출 입찰의 성공 및 실패모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Regression Models of Success and Failure of Tenders for Plant and Construction Exports)

  • This paper is to suggest strategic options for improving the export performance of the plant and construction industry. The overall objective of this study is to explore the feasibility of a sustained export performance in the plant and overseas construction industry by an analysis of its international competitiveness and technological competence. The empirical work of this study relates to a chosen sample of Korean and non-Korean firms in the plant and construction industry sector. Primary data was collected through a comprehensive questionnaire survey administered to plant and construction firms in twelve countries, including Korea. The actual number of firms for which full information at a sufficient level of disaggregation was obtained was 62, a response rate of 44.6%. Of these, 42 firms were drawn from Korean plant and construction firms and the remaining 20 firms from 11 other countries. The structure of responding firms by industry shows a total of 29 plant exporters and 33 construction firms. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS statistical technique such as Multiple Regression in order to examine the linear relationship among variables. The findings of the study indicate that export success and failure in plant and construction export markets is determined by firm size and by various qualitative variables. The high export volume (export success) of Plant and construction exporters is more strongly influenced by mutual economic cooperation and number of employees than by sales volume and competent knowledge of the plant and construction markets. It was also found that weak political and diplomatic relation between countries, low sales volume and lack of bid experience have an adverse effect and represent serious barriers to exports.

의료기기 제조업체의 구인난에 관한 분석 (Analysis of the workforce challenges of medical device manufacturers)

  • 본 연구는 국내 의료기기 업체 종사자의 직무별 현황, 인력확보의 어려움 정도와 그 이유, 퇴직률 등을 분석하여 인력확보와 관련된 자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다. 연구결과, 의료기기 제조업체는 생산품목과 관계없이 국제인증 취득과 수출을 담당하는 해외영업 인력이 필요하며 수도권에 소재한 기업이라 할지라도 인력확보가 용이하지 않았다. 그리고 의료기기 회사는 직원 수 및 매출 규모와 관계없이 인력확보의 어려움을 겪으며 특히, 3등급의 의료기기를 생산하는 업체의 구인난이 심했다. 인력확보가 어려운 이유는 개인은 취약한 근로조건, 법인은 회사가 요구하는 직무능력을 갖춘 구직자의 수가 적기 때문이었다. 따라서 의료기기 업체의 구인난이 해결되기 위해서는 기업에서 요구하는 수준의 직무능력을 갖춘 인력이 양성되어야 하고, 회사는 적절한 수준의 근로조건을 마련하는 것이 필요함을 알 수 있다. 그리고 퇴직률 분석에서 회사 규모가 크고 직원이 많을수록 인력관리에 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타나 체계적이고 통합적인 인력관리 프로그램이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

국내외 SPA 브랜드 니트웨어의 디자인 특성에 관한 연구 - 2019년 S/S 시즌 중심으로 - (A study on design characteristics of SPA brand knitwear in domestic and overseas markets - With a Focus on the 2019 S/S Season -)

  • The fashion market is expanding and competition is intensifying due to the contraction of consumption in response to the economic recession and changes in trends. In this study, design characteristics reflecting the brand identity and trend are analyzed as important factors for success. In this study, we will look at the design characteristics of knitwear among SPA brand products and help to plan knit designs. First, six brands were selected based on the sales and the number of stores in domestic and foreign SPA brands. The selected brands include UNIQLO, ZARA, H&M, SPAO, TOPTEN, and 8Seconds. We have selected weft knitting knitwear products(1,736 pieces), which are currently sold in domestic and foreign SPA brands, as silhouette items, knitwear design items, gauges, colors, patterns, images, and items as analysis items to analyze the causes of the differences in the design characteristics of domestic and foreign knitwear. The SPA brand has a wide range of tattoo floors, emphasizing practical aspects, a silhouette that fits the body, and a comfortable daily style. Domestic and foreign SPA brands did not show much difference, but Korean brands had a lower diversity of organization and used color for stable sales, showing a lower concern in trend and strong point color applications. If foreign brands pursue femininity based on a sexy image, Korean brands displayed a difference, emphasizing cute images. As for other design factors, it was found that brand identity was reflected more than domestically. As the cycle of trends becomes shorter, fast fashion is expected to continue in the future, and it is hoped that this research will be used as useful data for design projects of domestic companies.

기업의 국제화가 회계이익의 지속성에 미치는 효과 분석 (The Effect of Firm's Internationalization on Accounting Earnings Persistence)

  • 본 연구에서는 기업의 국제화 수준을 개별 기업의 매출액 대비 해외매출비중(FSTS)으로 측정하고 Sloan(1996)의 모형을 활용 당기순이익과 차기순이익 간의 1차 자기상관관계를 회계이익 지속성의 대용치로 사용하여 기업의 이익지속성에 영향을 미치는 다수의 통제변수들과 함께 실증분석을 실시하였다. 2011년부터 2016년까지 유가증권 시장에 상장된 12월 말 결산법인을 대상으로 고정효과모형을 이용하여 실증분석을 실시한 결과, 기업의 국제화와 회계이익의 지속성은 1% 유의수준에서 양(+)의 효과를 나타내어 개별 기업의 국제화 수준이 증가할수록 기업의 이익 지속성 또한 증가하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 또한 기업규모, 재무건전성, 현금 수반성, 성장성, 투자성은 예측과 일치하게 국제화와 통계적으로 유의한 양(+)의 관계를 나타내어 이들이 기업 이익의 지속성을 증진하는데 중요한 보완적 요인임을 검증하였다. 이는 기업의 규모가 크고 재무건전성 및 현금 수반성이 우수할수록, 성장기회와 투자성향이 높을수록 기업의 이익지속성이 증가함을 의미하여 기존 선행연구들의 결과와도 일치하였다. 이러한 결과는 기업이 국제화 전략 추진을 통해 새로운 해외 시장을 확보하고 성장을 도모함으로서 기업 가치를 안정적으로 유지·확장시킬 수 있음을 시사한다.

Global Construction Competitiveness Evaluation in 2016

  • Korea's domestic construction market and overseas construction order environment are experiencing a decreasing trend, and this trend is expected to continue. Therefore, domestic construction companies are seeking to enter the global construction market. This study analyzes the global construction market and the global competitiveness for global construction companies and provides the results. To this end, this study has developed a model to evaluate the global construction competitiveness level and to evaluated global construction competitiveness in 2016. The evaluation of global construction competitiveness was analyzed based on the competitiveness of construction infrastructure by country, and the evaluation results of competitiveness of construction companies. These assessments were based on 20 detailed international statistics (ENR, Global Insight, Compass, etc.). The evaluation results are as follows. First, in regard to the comprehensive global construction competitiveness by country, America ranked first among 20 countries, followed by China. European countries like Spain, Germany and the Netherlands ranked third to fifth, respectively. Korea ranked sixth, one rank higher than that of the previous year. America and European countries remain strong. Second, in regard to the comprehensive building infrastructure competitiveness by country, America ranked first followed by Germany. Korea ranked twelfth, which is the same rank as that of the previous year. When it comes to stability in the construction market, China ranked first and Korea eighth. For construction systems, Sweden ranked first and Korea thirteenth, and for infrastructure, Japan ranked first and Korea tenth. Third, according to the construction company's capability evaluation by country, America ranked first followed by China. Korea ranked fourth, two ranks higher than that of the previous year because of its building competitiveness (fifth → fourth) and design competitiveness (eleventh → eighth) which has improved. When it comes to building competitiveness, China ranked first and Korea fourth. For design competitiveness, America ranked first and Korea eighth, and for price competitiveness, India ranked first and Korea seventh. However, Korea is still in the middle of the pack rank among the 20 countries considered when it comes to design competitiveness. It is ranked eleventh for design productivity and thirteenth for foreign sales against the total sales (internationalization). Thus, Korea needs to improve technical power and tap into new markets for improved competitiveness, including increased productivity. To do so, more R&D investment is required.
