The purpose of this study was to report the intersex identified in the oyster Crassostrea gigas (n=410, SH 43.3±11.4 mm) in the waters around 13 uninhabited islands near Yeosu. The overall sex ratio (male: female) was 1:1.1, but there was a difference between the sampling areas. In Gajangdo, Sogyeongdo, and Jungsamdo, females showed a high ratio of 65% or more, and in Songdo, Chodo, and Buseodo, males showed a high ratio of 65% or more. The overall intersexuality was about 12.8%, which was high in males, about 34.7% in females and 64.3% in males. Intersexuality was the highest with about 43.8% in Chodo of Gamak Bay. Histologically, intersex could be divided into three types: intrafollicular type, interfollicular type and mixed type. Among these three types, the intrafollicular type was the most dominant with about 81.6%. The intersex cause of oysters reported in this study is considered to require detailed research in the future.

Purpose: The optimal treatment for gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (GEJA) remains controversial. We evaluated the treatment patterns and outcomes of patients with locally advanced GEJA according to the histological type. Materials and Methods: We conducted a single-institution retrospective cohort study of patients with locally advanced GEJA who underwent curative-intent surgical resection between 2010 and 2020. Perioperative therapies as well as clinicopathologic, surgical, and survival data were collected. The results of endoscopy and histopathological examinations were assessed for Siewert and Lauren classifications. Results: Among the 58 patients included in this study, 44 (76%) were clinical stage III, and all received neoadjuvant therapy (72% chemoradiation, 41% chemotherapy, 14% both chemoradiation and chemotherapy). Tumor locations were evenly distributed by Siewert Classification (33% Siewert-I, 40% Siewert-II, and 28% Siewert-III). Esophagogastrectomy (EG) was performed for 47 (81%) patients and total gastrectomy (TG) for 11 (19%) patients. All TG patients received D2 lymphadenectomy compared to 10 (21%) EG patients. Histopathological examination showed the presence of 64% intestinal-type and 36% diffuse-type histology. The frequencies of diffuse-type histology were similar among Siewert groups (37% Siewert-I, 36% Siewert-II, and 33% Siewert-III). Regardless of Siewert type and compared to intestinal-type, diffuse histology was associated with increased intraabdominal recurrence rates (P=0.03) and decreased overall survival (hazard ratio, 2.33; P=0.02). With a median follow-up of 31.2 months, 29 (50%) patients had a recurrence, and the median overall survival was 50.5 months. Conclusions: Present in equal proportions among Siewert types of esophageal and gastric cancer, a diffuse-type histology was associated with high intraabdominal recurrence rates and poor survival. Histopathological evaluation should be considered in addition to anatomic location in the determination of multimodal GEJA treatment strategies.
We operated on 199 patients of VSD from 1976 to April l986. Among them, patients of VSD whose medical records were available were analyzed clinically. Operation on patients of VSD occupied 23.9% of total open heart surgery [832 cases] during those days. Of the 164 patients, 93 patients were male [56.7%]. 71 patients were female [43.3%]. Their age ranged from 6 months to 28 years and the mean age was 9.5 year and 82.2% of the patients were between 2 and 15 year of age. Of the patients, body weight below 10Kg were 19 cases. The most common complaints were frequent URI and DOE. On Kirklin`s anatomical classification, type II defect was most common [60.1%], type I [38.4%], combined type I+II, type III, combined type II+Ill and combined type II+IV in orders. Associated anomaly was found in 66 patients [42.5%>]. Pulmonary stenosis was most commonly associated cardiac anomaly [8.4%] and aortic insufficiency [7.1%], ASD, Lt. SVC and PDA in orders. There were extracardiac anomalies such as polydactyly, cleft palate, hypospadia and congenital aniridia, etc. Relationship between ventricular hypertrophy and defect size and cardiac cath. data was analyzed. The overall mortality was 7.0% [14 cases] and complication rate was 22.5% [35 cases].

This study was carried out to investigate the quality characteristics of Jeung-pyun using high yielding type rice (Dasan, Keunseom) and processing type rice (Daerip, Seolgang, Yangjo) for applying a new processes in rice food industry. The weight, volume, specific volume and expansion of Jeung-pyun were the highest in Dasan. The shapes of cross section showed that the air cell of Jeung-pyun made from Dasan and Daerip were smaller and more regular than Keunseom, Seolgang, and Yangjo. The Jeung-pyun of Daerip was the highest in L value, springiness, cohesiveness and chewiness, Keunseom was the highest in a value and hardness; Yangjo was the highest in b value, adhesiveness and gumminess. Jeung-pyun of Dasan was shown, through sensory evaluation, to be the highest in flavor, appearance and overall preference. The Jeung-pyun of Daerip was the highest in color and taste preference, while Seolgang was the highest in texture preference.

In this paper, we introduce the Partial Half-Through Type Plate Girder Bridge proposed by Hyundai Development Co. and KRTC Consortium in Turn-Key Based design last year, and this type of bridge may be adapted to the railway bridge under similar conditions. This bridge across the North Han River was to be concerned its find view and the protection of water source. For its location is inside the dam, it required the long span and the clearance for the flood also. Its new composite section was able to diminish the deflection and vibration. Its shop-fabrication could control its quality easily, and might to be launched. This structural type have satisfied its functions, construction situations, and overall safeties, so this is the field-oriented type. However the composition and connections of the proposed members are different to the recent forms, and difficult to be applied to present specifications. Therefore it requires a certification on the application for more safety by not only analytical verifications but also experimental studies. Nevertheless, this type of bridge may have some more applications from now on.

This paper is the experimental study to estimate the influence of various design parameters on the performance of mufflers with perforated tubes and through-flow partitions. Muffler types considered in the present work include through-flow chamber, through-flow chamber with partition, and cross-flow chamber. The influences of the design parameters on the performance of the mufflers can be outlined as follows. In the case of the through-f]ow type mufflers, increasing the tube thickness and the hole diameter of the perforated tubes does not change the maximum value of the transmission loss but decrease the cutoff frequency. In the case of the through-flow with partitions type mufflers, it is shown that combining a fe w short chambers and long chambers can modify the frequency locations of the resonance frequencies to optimize the performance of the mufflers. For the case of the cross-flow type mufflers, it is shown that the transmission loss of the mufflers is mainly affected by the lower porosity when the porosities are different in both sides of the plug. Overall, it is shown that performance of the through-flow type with partition type mufflers is excellent in the lower frequency region, where the cross-flow type mufflers have better performance in the higher frequency region.
In this study, we analyzed the figure type and lower-body size of Shanghai and Hong Kong adult women in their early twenties using the data obtained from 3D whole body scanners. We also provided concrete information related to women's lower bodies, in terms of crotch width, crotch length, inseam, outseam, slope of waist, etc., among women in Shanghai and Hong Kong. The result may be useful to the Chinese apparel industry when designing trouser pants for adult women. According to the results of the factor analysis for categorizing the body shape of the lower half, 5 factors were obtained: obesity of the lower half factor, height of the lower half factor, length from waist to the crotch factor, factor related to legs, and shape of the abdomen factor. After performing a cluster analysis according to the factor analysis, three clusters were set: Cluster 1 was represented as the lower half growth type, which has a high value in height of the lower half factor and grows in the abdomen part. Cluster 2 was represented as thin legs type, which has a low value in most part compared to the length of leg bones and factors about legs that have high value. Cluster 3 was represented as the obesity type having a high value in the obesity of the lower half factor. Overall, thin legs type achieved a high rate in Shanghai adult women and obesity type received a high rate in adult women living in Hong Kong.
An adjustable, louver-type wind barrier was introduced in this study for improving the running safety and ride comfort of train on the bridge under the undesirable wind environment. The aerodynamic characteristics of both train and bridge due to this novel wind barrier was systematically investigated based on the wind tunnel tests. It is suggested that rotation angles of the adjustable blade of the louver-type wind barrier should be controlled within $90^{\circ}$ to achieve an effective solution in terms of the overall aerodynamic performance of the train. Compared to the traditional grid-type wind barrier, the louver-type wind barrier generally presents better aerodynamic performance. Specifically, the larger decrease of the lift force and overturn moment of the train and the smaller increase of the drag force and torsional moment of the bridge resulting from the louver-type wind barrier were highlighted. Finally, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique was applied to explore the underlying mechanism of aerodynamic control using the proposed wind barrier.

Purpose: To evaluate the inter-fractional position and respiratory reproducibility of lung and liver tumors using pressure conserving type(P-type) abdominal compressor in volumetric modulated arc therapy(VMAT). Materials and methods: Six lung cancer patients and three liver cancer patients who underwent VMAT using a P-type abdominal compressor were included in this study. Cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT) images were acquired before each treatment and compared with planning CT images to evaluate the inter-fractional position reproducibility. The position variation was defined as the difference of position shift values between target matching and bone matching. 4-dimensional cone-beam computed tomography(4D CBCT) images were acquired weekly before treatment and compared with planning 4DCT images to evaluate the inter-fractional respiratory reproducibility. The respiratory variation was calculated by the magnitude of excursions by breathing. Results: The mean ± standard deviation(SD) of overall position variation values, 3D vector in the three translational directions were 1.1 ± 1.4 mm and 4.5 ± 2.8 mm for the lung and liver, respectively. The mean ± SD of respiratory variation values were 0.7 ± 3.4 mm (p = 0.195) in the lung and 3.6 ± 2.6 mm (p < 0.05) in the liver. Conclusion: The use of P-type compressor in lung and liver VMAT was effective for stable control of inter-fractional position and respiratory variation by reproduction of abdominal compression. Appropriate PTV margin must be considered in treatment planning, and image guidance before each treatment are required in order to obtain more stable reproducibility
