This study investigated the effect of shopping satisfaction on travel satisfaction, travel specific quality of life and overall quality of life for Korean vacation tourists. Tourist evaluations on those four variables were confirmed first. The effect of shopping satisfaction on the other variables was then investigated. The effect of demographics was also identified. An on-line survey method was used to obtain data of 20's-50's tourists, while factor analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA, and Duncan test were applied to analyze data. The results were as follows. First, shopping satisfaction of the vacation travel showed a positive effect on tour satisfaction, which affected the quality of life after travel. Second, travel specific quality of life had a significant effect on overall quality of life and confirmed the bottom-up spillover effect. Third, the perception of shopping satisfaction, travel satisfaction, travel specific quality of life, and overall quality of life differed by demographic factors. Women and young tourists revealed high satisfaction scores in shopping and travel; in addition, wealthy travelers showed a higher quality of life. Occupation tended to partly affect satisfaction and quality of life. The findings implied that travel and tourists' shopping are an important element to enhance the quality of life.
The objectives of this study were to examine the propensity of job related variables, self-esteem, overall job satisfaction, satisfaction about six categories in the job(task, boss, payment, co-workers, promotion, job environment) of life insurance planners, to investigate the effects of self-esteem, demographic variables, job characteristics variables on the overall job satisfaction and the satisfaction of six categories in the job. The survey of this study was conducted by means of self-administered questionnaire with 275 life insurance planners located in Taegu. Major findings were as follows:(1) The propensity of self-esteem and overall job satisfaction of life insurance planners averages 3.75 and 3.35 points(5 Likert scale). The propensity of satisfaction about task, boss, payment, co-workers, promotion, job environment of life insurance planners averages 4.22, 2.67, 1.68, 2.09, 1.71, 2.65 points separately(5 Likert scale). (2) According to the results for examining the relative influences of variables affecting overall satisfaction of life insurance planners, the relative importance of related variables are in the order of , self-esteem in the job, social dignity of the job, the prospect about the dignity of life insurance planner, the motive of having job. Explanatory power of these variables totaled 43.5%.

This study examines health and life satisfaction of the married female production workers(Mfpw). The data of 370 Mfpw in manufacturing sector in Taegu are collected by using questionares in August, 1995. Health scale measured by Todai Health Index is composed physical health and mental health. There are three satifsfaction areas-individual life satisfaction, family life satisfaction, and job satisfaction-in the overall life satisfaction scale. The findings of this study are as follows: 1) Mfpw’s total health conditions are poor. Especially physical health is worse than mental health. Physical health is influenced by age and purpose of attaining job, while mental health is influenced by purpose of attaining job. Mfpw who get the job for family financial needs have poor physical and mental health. 2) The overall life satisfaction level of Mfpw is lower than middle point : their family life satisfaction level is the heigest and their individual life satisfaction level is the lowest. Family income, purpose of attaining job and work place environment have effect on the level of overall life satisfaction. Mfpw who have the higher family income, get the job by non-economic motivations and work in good work place environment show the higher life satisfaction level.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the determinants of inpatients satisfaction and intent to revisit oriental medical hospitals. Methods: The independent variables of the study contain the level of satisfaction with doctors, nurses, staffs, medical fee, environment, facilities and hospital life. Each variable was measured by three to eight items about the level of satisfaction with various aspects of hospital ward life. The level of overall patient satisfaction was used as an intervening variable and the level of intent to revisit was used as a dependent variable. The sample used in this study consisted of 268 inpatients from 3 oriental medical hospitals located in Chungnam Province. Data were collected with a structured and self-administrated questionnaire and analysed using path analysis. Results: The major findings of the study were as follows : First, it was found that the 3 variables of hospital life satisfaction, ancillary staffs satisfaction, and metropolitan residents has significant positive effect on the level of overall patient satisfaction. Second, the overall satisfaction and the satisfactory level of facilities, medical fee, and quality of ward life were found to have significant effects on the level of intent to revisit of respondents. Conclusions: The results of the study indicate that oriental medical hospitals should make an effort to improve the overall satisfaction of inpatients, especially focusing on the facilities convenience, medical price, and hospital ward life which will lead to high level of intent to revisit of inpatients.
The study aimed to explore the association between tourism experience and the quality of life among the elderly over aged 65. Using a sample from Jeju, this study clarifies tourism experiences of the elderly and examines the relationship among tourism experience, six different life domains, and overall quality of life by generating theoretical and practical implications. Structural Equation Modeling approach was used to identify the relationships among the constructs. The results revealed that travel experience positively influences satisfaction with family, social, material, psychological, health, and leisure life domain. However, not all life domain satisfaction affects overall quality of life. Satisfaction with family, leisure, health, psychological well-being life domains was linked to overall life satisfaction among the elderly.
The purpose of this study was to find the role of participation in common activities and satisfaction with common space in a tentative housing adjustment framework for Swedish cohousing residents, applying the housing adjustment behavior model of Morris and Winter (1978, 1996). The data used for this research were a subset of data Choi and Paulsson (2011) surveyed from 12 Swedish cohousing units. Number of 216 cases whose age was 40 and over were selected and analyzed with Pearson correlations and hierarchical linear regressions by SPSS. The regression analyses included four main concepts as endogenous variables, which were participation in common activities, satisfaction with common space, overall life satisfaction, and intention to move out. The results showed that participation in common activities raised satisfaction with common space and overall life satisfaction but reduced intention to move out. Meanwhile, satisfaction with common space diminished intention to move out but did not impact overall life satisfaction. When overall life satisfaction was added to the final regression model, the direct impacts of security reasons, participation in common activities, and satisfaction with common space on intention to move out disappeared. It may be concluded that participation in common activities and satisfaction with common space acted as intervening variables in the tentative cohousing adjustment framework. Even though this study leaves further research on specifying the framework, it may be noteworthy as a first attempt that explains the flow of main concepts. This study may broaden the possibility of empirical studies to develop an analytical path model of housing adjustment for cohousing residents.
Food is an essential component of good health and a high quality of life. This is especially true for the elderly, where health and quality of life can vary due to eating issues. This study attempts to measure the satisfaction with food-related life in the elderly of South Korea, while examining differences in social support, depression, isolation, and life satisfaction based on the level of satisfaction with food-related life. Data collection was conducted using one-on-one surveys from December 2011 to January 2012. A total of 390 elderly (aged 65 and over) who live in Korea participated in this study. The results showed that the satisfaction with food-related life was high (3.52 out of 5). The elderly who had company during a meal or a meal preparer showed a higher satisfaction with their food-related life. Social support was high (5.32 out of 7) and the feelings of isolation were low (3.85 out of 5). The average satisfaction with life was 4.42 out of 7, indicating a fair satisfaction with life, while the average depression score was relatively low (8.77 out of 26). In general, the elderly with a higher satisfaction with food-related life had a higher social support and overall satisfaction with their life. On the other hand, the elderly with a lower satisfaction with food-related life generally reported higher levels of depression and isolation. A positive correlation was observed between satisfaction with food-related life, social support, and satisfaction of life, while a negative correlation was found between satisfaction with food-related life, isolation, and depression. The results of this study indicate that managing the satisfaction with food-related life is an important component of mental health in the elderly.
Purpose: In this study, we aim to provide fundamental database for the development of programs that will enhance the satisfactions of the dental technicians' daily life. To this end, we examined various factors that affect the subjects' social and emotional life satisfactions and their overall daily lives. Methods: Out of the random selection of the registered dental offices of Dental Technicians in Seoul, Gyeonggido, and Gangwon-do districts. Four hundred working dental technicians were asked to fill out the questionnaire from the 1st of June to the 25th of August, 2011. We collected the 355 sheets of the questionnaire and took frequency analysis, t-test, analysis of variance and structural equation modeling using SPSS Win 12.0 program. Results: The results of this study is as follows; Firstly, social satisfaction of the subjects turned out 3.71 on average, emotional satisfaction and daily life satisfaction in general were shown 2.77 and 3.19 respectively. Secondly, Age(p<.05), Career(p<.001), Working environment satisfaction(p<.001) showed significant differences in social life satisfaction area, whereas monthly earning(p<.05), working environment satisfaction(p<.001) revealed meaningful differences in the domain of emotional life satisfaction. Thirdly, in the overall satisfaction of daily lives, monthly earning(p<.05), career(p<.01), working environment satisfaction(p<.001) indicated significant difference. Conclusion: Seen from the results of this study, we purport to develop a variety of programs for better working conditions and to further research on the variables affecting the dental technicians' satisfaction of daily lives.
The purposes of this study are to define the family life events as a input factor of system model and to understand structural characteristics of the family life events in the modern multilateral society have and orientation of the management system leads a satisfactory life. This study attempted through the relation of cause and effect among the components of management system by Deacon & Firebaugh systems theory. The findings of this study are as follows: 1) As for the influence of family life events on the orientation of home management behavior the influential family life event on overall the orientation of home management behavior was social problem of family members($\beta$= -128). 2)Family life events which have influence on the family life satisfaction were financial problem and trouble with husband members problems demand for housework and everyday affairs. 3) The subdivison of home management behavior which influenced on the overall family life satisfaction were communication and decision originality the use of resources and the flexibility of plan. 4) Results of path analysis revealed that relation of cause and effect out of family life events resources the patterns of home management behavior and family life satisfaction the family life events made the family life satisfaction higher because they had negative effect on the family life satisfaction directly but changed total effect into positive one by family management behavior.
The purpose of this study was to explore factors associated with life satisfaction among nursery school teachers. To accomplish the study purpose, this study first classified several variables into three broad categories including work environment (social support & work environment), job-related environment (work-related stress & job satisfaction), and burnout. And then, 302 nursery school teachers across the country were surveyed in order to explore whether those factors were associated with life satisfaction. The overall results were as follows. First, social support and work environment had a direct impact on the satisfaction with life. Second, social support and job satisfaction had a direct influence on job satisfaction. Third, social support, work-related stress and job satisfaction directly influenced burnout. Fourth, job-related environment, job satisfaction, and burnout had a direct impact on life satisfaction. Overall, it was found that job-related environment, job satisfaction, and burnout had a direct influence on life satisfaction among nursery school teachers and social support and work-related stress had an indirect effect on life satisfaction via burnout.
