소형 오존발생장치의 전력제어와 냉각효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on Cooling Effect and Power Control of a Mini Ozonizer)

  • 본 논문은 미세 오존 출력을 얻을 수 있는 자동제어형 오존발생장치의 제어기법을 제시하고, 또한 무성방전에 의한 오존발생장치의 유입공기를 공극에서 저온인 $2^{\circ}C$까지 냉각 하여 포화 확산도가 높은 고밀도 탈취용 오존을 발생시킬 수 있는 기법을 제시한다. 고주파수의 오존방전 노이즈에 의한 전원파형의 불량화를 보상하기 위해서 디지털 궤환 제어시스템을 구성하고, 방전관의 등가 커패시터의 전압과 전류를 검출하여 2중의 제어루프를 설계한다. 부하변동에 따르는 과도상태 응답특성을 개선하고 제어기의 연산 지연시간을 보상하기 위하여 연산시간을 전원장치 플랜트의 고유한 파라미터로 가정하여 플랜트모델에 포함시켜 모델링한다. 제안된 오존 발생기는 고농도 고효율의 오존방전 시스템의 입력전원에서 고주파방전노이즈가 제거되어 정현적으로 되며 2배 이상의 안정된 오존출력을 얻는 것을 실험적으로 입증한다.

간척지 내 단동형 온실의 풍하중에 대한 구조 안정성 분석 (Structural Safety of Single-Span Greenhouses under Wind Load of Costal Reclaimed Lands)

  • Coastal reclamation has created large flat lands, part of which is an attractive site to construct greenhouse complexes for the horticulture industry. Wind environments over these coastal lands are entirely different from those of the inland area, and demand increased structural safety. The objective of this study is to evaluate the structural safety of two single-span greenhouses, peach type and even-span type, under the wind characteristics of coastal reclaimed lands. The wind pressure coefficients acting on the walls and roofs of two greenhouses were measured by wind tunnel experiments, and those acting on the roofs were approximately two times larger than those suggested by the existing design guidelines. Consequently, structural analysis conducted by SAP2000 showed that greenhouse structures designed by the existing guidelines might lead to structural failure under coastal wind conditions because their maximum allowable wind speeds were lower than the design wind speed. Especially, the peach type greenhouse constructed in a reclaimed land could be damaged by approximately 48 % of the design wind speed and needed improvement of structural designs. This study suggested increasing the spacing of rafters with thicker pipes for the peach type greenhouse to enhance economic feasibility of the building under strong wind conditions of reclaimed lands.

SWAT-EFDC 연계 모델링을 통한 입장저수지의 유사 해석 (Modeling Sedimentation Process in Ipjang Reservoir using SWAT and EFDC)

  • Reservoir sedimentation is a major environmental issue, and various sediment load controls and plans have been proposed to secure clean and safe water resources. The objectives of this study were to estimate soil loss in the upper basins and predict sediment deposition in Ipjang reservoir using hydrologic and hydraulic model. To do so, SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) and EFDC (Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code) was used to estimate soil loss in two upper basins and to predict spatial distribution and amount of sediment deposition in the Ipjang reservoir, respectively. The hydrologic modeling results showed that annual average soil loss from the upper basins was 500 ton. The hydraulic modeling results demonstrated that sediment particles transported to the reservoir were mostly trapped in the vicinity of the reservoir inlet and then moved toward the bank over time. If long-term water quality monitoring and sediment survey are performed, this study can be used as a tool for predicting the dredging amount, dredging location and proper dredging cycle in the reservoir. The study findings are expected to be used as a basis to establish management solutions for sediment reduction.

군산하구 해역에서의 부영양화 모델링 (Eutrophication Modelling in Gunsan Estuary)

  • Gunsan coastal area is one of region increasing pollution problems. One of the most important factors that cause eutrophication is nutrient materials containing nitrogen and phosphorus which stem from excreation of terrestial sources. At this study, the three-dimensional numerical hydrodynamic and ecosystem model, which was developed by Institute for Resources and Environment of Japan, were applied to analyze the processes affecting the eutrophication. The residual currents, which were obtained by integrating the simulated tidal currents over 1 tidal cycle, showed the presence of a typical. Density driven currents were generated westward at surface and eastward at the bottom in Geum estuary area where the fresh waters are flowing into. The ecosystem model was calibrated with the data surveyed in the field of the study area in annual average. The simulated results of DIN were fairly good coincided with the observed values within relative error of 32.39%. correlation coefficient(r) of 0.99. In the case of DIP, the simulated results were fairly good coincided with the observed values within relative error of 24.26%, correlation coefficient (r) of 0.82. The simulations of DIN and DIP concentrations were performed using ecosystem model under the conditions of 20 ∼ 80% pollution load reductions from pollution sources. In study area, concentration of DIN and DIP were reduced to 20∼80% and under 10% in case of the 80% reduction of the input loads from fresh water respectively. But pollution loads from sediment had hardly affected DIN and DIP concentration. For the environment management of coastal areas, in case of Kunsan area, the most important pollution sources affecting eutrophication phenomenon were found to be the input loads from fresh water.

On the direct strength and effective yield strength method design of medium and high strength steel welded square section columns with slender plate elements

  • The ultimate carrying capacity of axially loaded welded square box section members made of medium and high strength steels (nominal yield stresses varying from 345 MPa to 460 MPa), with large width-to-thickness ratios ranging from 35 to 70, is analyzed by finite element method (FEM). At the same time, the numerical results are compared with the predicted results using Direct Strength Method (DSM), modified DSM and Effective Yield Strength Method (EYSM). It shows that curve a, rather than curve b recommended in Code for design of steel structures GB50017-2003, should be used to check the local-overall interaction buckling strength of welded square section columns fabricated from medium and high strength steels when using DSM, modified DSM and EYSM. Despite all this, EYSM is conservative. Compared to EYSM and modified DSM, DSM provides a better prediction of the ultimate capacities of welded square box compression members with large width-thickness ratios over a wide range of width-thickness ratios, slenderness ratios and steel grades. However, for high strength steels (nominal yield strength greater than 460 MPa), the numerical and existent experimental results indicate that DSM overestimates the load-carrying capacities of the columns with width-thickness ratio smaller than 45 and slenderness ratio less than 80. Further, for the purpose of making it suitable for a wider scope, DSM has been modified (called proposed modified DSM). The proposed modified DSM is in excellent agreement with the numerical and existing experimental results.

Effect of internal angles between limbs of cross plan shaped tall building under wind load

  • The present study revealed comparison the pressure distribution on the surfaces of regular cross plan shaped building with angular cross plan shaped building which is being transformed from basic cross plan shaped building through the variation of internal angles between limbs by $15^{\circ}$ for various wind incidence angle from $0^{\circ}$ to $180^{\circ}$ at an interval of $30^{\circ}$. In order to maintain the area same the limbs sizes are slightly increased accordingly. Numerical analysis has been carried out to generate similar nature of flow condition as per IS: 875 (Part -III):1987 (a mean wind velocity of 10 m/s) by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with help of ANSYS CFX ($k-{\varepsilon}$ model). The variation of mean pressure coefficients, pressure distribution over the surface, flow pattern and force coefficient are evaluated for each cases and represented graphically to understand extent of nonconformities due to such angular modifications in plan. Finally regular cross shaped building results are compared with wind tunnel results obtained from similar '+' shaped building study with similar flow condition. Reduction in along wind force coefficients for angular crossed shaped building, observed for various skew angles leads to develop lesser along wind force on building compared to regular crossed shaped building and square plan shaped building. Interference effect within the internal faces are observed in particular faces of building for both cases, considerably. Significant deviation is noticed in wind induced responses for angular cross building compared to regular cross shaped building for different direction wind flow.

Analysis of Microbial Communities in Biofilms from CSTR-Type Hollow Fiber Membrane Biofilm Reactors for Autotrophic Nitrification and Hydrogenotrophic Denitrification

  • Two hollow fiber membrane biofilm reactors (HF-MBfRs) were operated for autotrophic nitrification and hydrogenotrophic denitrification for over 300 days. Oxygen and hydrogen were supplied through the hollow fiber membrane for nitrification and denitrification, respectively. During the period, the nitrogen was removed with the efficiency of 82-97% for ammonium and 87-97% for nitrate and with the nitrogen removal load of 0.09-0.26 kg NH4+-N/m3/d and 0.10-0.21 kg NO3--N/m3/d, depending on hydraulic retention time variation by the two HF-MBfRs for autotrophic nitrification and hydrogenotrophic denitrification, respectively. Biofilms were collected from diverse topological positions in the reactors, each at different nitrogen loading rates, and the microbial communities were analyzed with partial 16S rRNA gene sequences in denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). Detected DGGE band sequences in the reactors were correlated with nitrification or denitrification. The profile of the DGGE bands depended on the NH4+ or NO3- loading rate, but it was hard to find a major strain affecting the nitrogen removal efficiency. Nitrospira-related phylum was detected in all biofilm samples from the nitrification reactors. Paracoccus sp. and Aquaspirillum sp., which are an autohydrogenotrophic bacterium and an oligotrophic denitrifier, respectively, were observed in the denitrification reactors. The distribution of microbial communities was relatively stable at different nitrogen loading rates, and DGGE analysis based on 16S rRNA (341f /534r) could successfully detect nitrate-oxidizing and hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria but not ammonium-oxidizing bacteria in the HF-MBfRs.

  • This steel has been synthesized integrating concepts from Austempering Ductile Cast Iron (ADI) technology. While ADI has excellent mechanical and physical properties, the Young's modules of ADI is approximately 20% lower than steel. In addition, the presence of graphite nodules in ADI can be sites of crack initiation, where fracture takes place at graphite matrix interface. Because of this limitations of ADI, there has been a growing interest in austempered steels as structural materials in resent years. In this investigation, a new steel with microstructure composed of ferrite and austenite and with simultaneous high tensile strength (1,150 MPa) and high ductility (33%) was developed. The goal of this investigation is to obtain a better understanding of deformation and transformation behaviour in high carbon retained austenite(${\gamma}_{HC}$) and over-saturated ferrite(${\alpha}$) during the plastic deformation. A detailed study of the microstructure of this steel was carried out by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and electron back scattering diffraction (EBSD) technic. In this way it was shown that BCC phase (BCC) took up the larger part of the nominal strain whereas the a part of retained austenite responded to the mechanincal load by partial martensite transformation, and misorientation change in the retained austenite after plastic strain could be attributed to the large elongation.

대형 건축물 객실 관리를 위한 USN 프로토콜 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of USN Protocol for Managing Rooms in a Large Building)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 통신을 이용하여 효율적으로 객실을 관리하기 위한 라우팅 방법 및 이를 이용한 객실 제어 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 대해 제안하고자 한다. IEEE 802.15.4 표준 기반 하에 클러스터 트리 구조의 무선 네트워크 망을 구축하고 제어 패킷을 이용하여 상기 네트워크 망을 관리하는 시스템과 상기 시스템에서 송수신된 제어 패킷을 이용하여 각 객실에 구성된 PAN 망을 관리하는 복수의 시스템으로 구성된다. 제안하는 프로토콜은 네트워크 망에 브로트케스트(BroadCast)를 하지 않고 목적지와 동일한 층으로 패킷을 전송한 후 검색을 통해 패킷을 전송하고, 목적지를 찾지 못하는 경우 라우팅 경로를 요구하는 AODV 라우팅 패킷을 전송하는 방법을 이용함으로써 무선 네트워크망의 트래픽을 감소시키고 효율적인 라우팅 경로를 확보할 수 있다.

무선 센서 네트워크에서의 멀티미디어 데이터 전송을 위한 최적의 노드 비 겹침 다중경로 탐색 프로토콜 (An Optimized Node-Disjoint Multi-path Routing Protocol for Multimedia Data Transmission over Wireless Sensor Network)

  • 최근 무선 센서 네트워크를 통해 멀티미디어 데이터를 전송하고자 하는 노력이 늘고 있다. 무선 센서 네트워크는 저 전력 소형 노드를 이용하며, 낮은 전송 속도를 갖는 네트워크이다. 하지만 멀티미디어 데이터는 비교적 큰 용량을 가지며, 전송 시 지연에 민감한 특성을 갖는다. 그러므로 무선 센서 네트워크를 이용하여 멀티미디어 데이터를 전송하는 것은 어려운 일이 아닐 수 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크 환경에서 멀티미디어 데이터 전송을 위해 경로의 겹침이 없는 노드 독립적인 (Node-Disjoint) Multi-path Routing방법을 제안한다. 대용량의 데이터 전송 시 기존의 Single-path Routing 방법은 하나의 경로만을 사용하기 때문에 특정 노드에 부하를 가중시켜 데이터 손실이나 지연을 야기 시킬 수 있지만, 본 논문에서 제안하는 TinyONDMR(Tiny Optimized Node-Disjoint Multi-path Routing)방법은 서로 분리된 다른 경로에 데이터를 분산시켜 전송함으로써, 네트워크의 성능을 향상시킨다. 또한 Multi-path를 찾기 위한 라우팅 과정에서 발생하는 라우팅 오버헤드를 줄여 네트워크 부하를 감소시킨다.
