  • A new fast-response high-current clamp DC-DC converter circuit design is presented that will meet the requirements and features of the new generation of microprocessors and digital systems. The clamp in the proposed converter amplifies the current in case of severe load changes and is able to produce high slew rate of output current and capability to keep constant the output voltage. This proposed high-current clamp technique is theoretically loss less, low cost and easy to implement with simple control scheme. This is modified from a basic buck topology by replacing the output inductor with two magnetically coupled inductors. Inductors are difference in inductance, one has large inductance and other has small inductance. The inductor with small inductance will take over the output inductor during fast load transient. It speedup the output current slew rate and reduce the output voltage drop in the case of heavy burden load changes.

  • This paper has presented, taking an example of a gas separation plant, dynamic analysis on frequency decline caused by the over-loading at the generator and the knee point causing voltage instability due to reactive power required by re-acceleration of large induction motors, resulting in phenomena of failure in the conventional frequency load shedding. In order to resolve the voltage instability problem, a design of load shedding system employing under-voltage relays has been proposed to the industrial power system containing large induction motors in addition to the conventional load shedding employing frequency relays. For the purpose of dynamic analysis, models of gas turbine and governor, synchronous generator, brushless exciter, and induction motor are introduced.

  • This paper has calculated DSM's latent capacity through a survey investigating electric arc furnaces in over 2,000 toe companies and related organizations. The latent capacity of DSM calculated with the same time load factor is considered in this paper. The time load factor depends on the probability of each electric arc furnace of the value to work and the consideration of experts and technician's experience. Also, this paper verifies the reliability and application of unposed capacity which compared the old latent capacity of Load Management with KEMCO and KEPCO's Direct Load Control gathering capacity.

  • Balcony space effects indoor thermal environment. When balcony is extended, problems would be made such as noise, dew condensation, over heating energy, and etc. Extend of balcony increase heating load about 47%. occupants must consider remodeling for their balcony. This paper compare extended balcony with unextended balcony on heating load in use of energy simulation program. According to increase heating load, we expected that building heating cost would be increased by extend balcony. To consider extend balcony, occupants must be funished with better date between healing cost increasing and floor area increasing.

  • Pervasive enhancement and required enforcement of the Internet of Things (IoTs) in a distributed massively multiplayer online architecture have effected in massive growth of Big-Data in terms of server over-load. There have been some previous works to overcome the overloading of server works. However, there are lack of considered methods, which is commonly applicable. Therefore, we propose a combing Sparse Auto-Encoder and Load-Balancing, which is ProGReGA for Big-Data of server loads. In the process of Sparse Auto-Encoder, when it comes to selection of the feature-pattern, the less relevant feature-pattern could be eliminated from Big-Data. In relation to Load-Balancing, the alleviated degradation of ProGReGA can take advantage of the less redundant feature-pattern. That means the most relevant of Big-Data representation can work. In the performance evaluation, we can find that the proposed method have become more approachable and stable.

  • Critical issues such as connection congestion, long transmission delay, and packet loss become even worse during epidemic, disaster, and so on. In this study, a link load balancing method is proposed to address these issues on the data plane, a plane of the software-defined network (SDN) architecture. These problems are NP-complete, so a meta-heuristic approach, discrete particle swarm optimization, is used with a novel hybrid cost function. The superiority of the proposed method over existing methods in the literature is that it provides link and switch load balancing simultaneously. The goal is to choose a path that minimizes the connection load between the source and destination in multipath SDNs. Furthermore, the proposed work is dynamic, so selected paths are regularly updated. Simulation results prove that with the proposed method, streams reach the target with minimum time, no loss, low power consumption, and low memory usage.

  • The well-known Dimension Exchange Method(DEM) to quantized loads may result in difference in assigned loads to processors as large as logn~units, in the worst case, after balancing for a hypercube of size n. In order to limit the increase of the accumulation of these differences, this paper proposes a method that limits the accumulation of the difference by redistributing an unit load (odd or even) of the same type, if possible, when there is a load distribution between two processors. We reduced the maximum difference to LCEIL logn over {2} RCEIL . The result shows the simulation experiments which show about 30% improvement in speedup compare to the DEM.

  • In this paper, we measured and examined RTT delays and packet losses according to the changes of stationary loads for two typical stream-type traffics, a DV and a MPGE2 on the R&D Gigabit Network testbed, JGN. As the result of our actual measurements, we realized that the packet size of stationary load have no effects on a DV and a MPGE2 stream on the very high-speed network(50Mbps, IP over ATM). When its bandwidth and stationary load exceeds 95% of network bandwidth, packet losses appeared and RTT delay increased rapidly. Also we realized that the number and size of Receive & Transmit buffer on the end systems have no effects on packet losses and RTT delays.

  • Objective: To characterize the changes in right ventricular (RV) volume, volume load, and function measured with cardiac computed tomography (CT) over the entire time course of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). Materials and Methods: In 374 patients with TOF, the ventricular volume, ventricular function, and RV volume load were measured with cardiac CT preoperatively (stage 1), after palliative operation (stage 2), after total surgical repair (stage 3), or after pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) (stage 4). The CT-measured variables were compared among the four stages. After total surgical repair, the postoperative duration (POD) and the CT-measured variables were correlated with each other. In addition, the demographic and CT-measured variables in the early postoperative groups were compared with those in the late postoperative and the preoperative group. Results: Significantly different CT-based measures were found between stages 1 and 3 (indexed RV end-diastolic volume [EDV], 63.6 ± 15.2 mL/m2 vs. 147.0 ± 38.5 mL/m2 and indexed stroke volume (SV) difference, 7.7 ± 10.3 mL/m2 vs. 32.2 ± 16.4 mL/m2; p < 0.001), and between stages 2 and 3 (indexed RV EDV, 72.4 ± 19.7 mL/m2 vs. 147.0 ± 38.5 mL/m2 and indexed SV difference, 5.7 ± 13.1 mL/m2 vs. 32.2 ± 16.4 mL/m2; p < 0.001). After PVR, the effect of RV volume load (i.e., indexed SV difference) was reduced from 32.2 mL/m2 to 1.7 mL/m2. Positive (0.2 to 0.8) or negative (-0.2 to -0.4) correlations were found among the CT-based measures except between the RV ejection fraction (EF) and the RV volume load parameters. With increasing POD, an early rapid increase was followed by a slow increase and a plateau in the indexed ventricular volumes and the RV volume load parameters. Compared with the preoperative data, larger ventricular volumes and lower EFs were observed in the early postoperative period. Conclusion: Cardiac CT can be used to characterize RV volume, volume load, and function over the entire time course of TOF.

  • In this paper present a Low Drop-Out(LDO) regulator that improves load transient characteristics due to the push-pull pass transistor structure is proposed. Improved load over the existing LDO regulator by improving the overshoot and undershoot entering the voltage line by adding the proposed push-pull circuit between the output stage of the error amplifier inside the LDO regulator and the gate stage of the pass transistor and the push-pull circuit at the output stage. It has a delta voltage value of transient characteristics. The proposed LDO structure was analyzed in Samsung 0.13um process using Cadence's Virtuoso, Spectre simulator.
