Cubism is a style that led the way to proclaim a new era of 20th century's art and contemporarily had an influence on several trends of thoughts. Geographically it formed Czech Cubism exerting an effect upon thoughts and plastic art of the progressive art group which showed activity around Prague, Czech in 1911, later for 10 years, it was developed as an unique form of which origin cannot be traced inside and outside Europe and expressed its own plastic art world in craft, furniture, painting, architecture, etc. The object of this study is to pull out the expressive characteristics showed especially in furniture design among Czech Cubism around interrelationship with painting, craft and architecture. The scope of study is to bring out the characteristics about the examples which 7 designers such as Josef Gocar, Pavel Janak, etc., who were representative designers of furniture design of Czech Cubism for 15 years from 1910 to 1925. The method of study is to investigate the origin of Czech Cubism by means of primitive elements of Africa, traces of Islamic architectures, and Czech traditional architectural motive, and the development process of Czech Cubism was arranged around the artist and exhibitions which led this current. After being synthesized the characteristics showed in painting, craft, architecture of Czech Cubism on the basis of the result of this study, the expressive characteristics of furniture design of Czech Cubism were brought out. As a result, the expressive characteristics of furniture design of Czech cubism are indicated in a large way as follow; 1) symbolic characteristic based on primitive plastic art, 2) dynamic characteristic by dividing form, 3) ethnic decorative characteristic combined with national motive. The significance of furniture design of Czech Cubism is not only to accept positively and digest the progressive trend of modern art, that is to say, Paris Cubism but also to succeed in recreate it in its own national style, to play a role to offer another motive to post modern design development at the end of 20th century and by means of these examples to provide the necessity and the base of more profound study in the future.

The purpose of this study is to promote the artistic value and formative aesthetic of clothes in daily life through a proposal of inventive fashion design by utilizing Depaysement of Surrealism, which visualizes a more realistically and more specifically than fact in illogical and unfamiliar situation, Focused on details of Korean traditional costume silhouette. The method of this study, the literature and existing researches related to Depaysement were analyzed through theoretical review for establish the expressive techniques of Depaysement expressed in contemporary fashion. Conclusions from this study are as follows: first, the expressive techniques of Depaysement are derived that are 'change of scale', 'change of materials', 'combination of heterogeneous objects', 'arrangement of object in a strange space', 'overlapped object', 'paradoxical image', 'variable awareness of boundary.' Second, expressive techniques of Depaysement present a new methodology which can express an irrational thinking, which is not controled by reason such as unconsciousness, dream, and fantasy etc, in a way that is easier and more realistic rather than thinking centered on an art which is ruled by consciousness. Third, unique and free-form fashion design, which destroys a general idea, was could develop by using abundant materials and composing items borrowed various silhouette for expressive the techniques of Depaysement. Forth, Through this study, the concept of Korean fashion design, that was limited by the standard form when we approach Korean fashion design as identity of social culture, ideology of reflection and expression, object of commercial expression, was could think outside of the box.

A study has been carried out to evaluate the interaction behavior between a lanthanide element and clad material in order to analyze the effect of the lanthanide element on the fuel cladding chemical interaction (FCCI). A diffusion couple test between Misch metal (70Ce-30La) and ferritic-martensitic steel (Gr.92) was performed at $660^{\circ}C$, followed by a microstructural analysis of the coupled sample. The results showed that Ce in the Misch metal, rather than La, reacted with the ferritic-martensitic steel (FMS) to form an interaction layer that penetrated the clad thickness. Fe diffused outside the clad interface to form an $Fe_2Ce$ compound, leaving a depletion of Fe caused by excess diffusion as well as by the formation of Cr-rich precipitation inside the interaction layer. The rate of growth followed the cubic rate law, which indicated that Fe depletion was caused by the diffusion of Fe and that the associated Cr-rich phase formation controlled the whole diffusion process.
This paper is based on the view that film should be conceived as a form of cultural practice whose meaning is always in the process of being produced within diverse socio-cultural contexts and aims to examine the ways in which the meaning of Korean film is (re)mediated or received in diverse cultural contexts outside the country. In this paper, we employ two theoretical grounds. Firstly, it positions itself in line with the audience studies within the field of cultural studies where the audience is conceived as active agents who produce the meaning of a popular culture text. The recruitment of the theoretical propositions from the audience studies enables recognition of the significance of the reception in film practice which recently seems to be oriented on production and distribution. Secondly, we conceive transnationality of film as that which is being produced in the process of transaction between the film and the audience, that is to say, transnationality is a form of discourse that emerges upon cultural interaction. The empirical work involves examination of a set of reviews of four films--Chihwaseon, Oldboy, Thirt, Poety--that have been published in daily newspapers and some popular film magazines in the U. S., the U. K. and France. Through the analysis of the film reviews, we identify four interpretive schemes or rather discourses recruited via which the Korean films are approached and understood: auteurism, formalism, universal themes, emotional response. We propose that these four kinds of discourse provide a common ground for the audience from different cultural backgrounds to understand Korean film. Furthermore, we also suggest that transnationality of Korean cinema needs to be reconsidered in terms of the reception as the audience from different socio-cultural backgrounds should be understood as active agents who are capable of engaging in Korean cultural texts such as film in their own way producing various meanings and these are also constituent of the meaning of the cultural texts.

At present, no outside organization provides systematic support for business archives, even though there are companies that operate their own. To resolve this situation, this study suggested that overseas business archives professionals organization could apply in Korea by analyzing the form of organizations and functional roles. As such, the organization of professionals in overseas business archives was analyzed through their website, literature research, and email interviews of the staff. Based on the analysis, overseas organizations of business archives professionals were established in the form of sections and independent organizations to systematically support business archives through long-term projects. Thus, this study proposed an organizational structure of professionals organizations for the development of domestic business archives and the functional role of supporting activities, educational activities, and publishing activities. In addition, the ultimate development of business archives is clearly no longer the only solution to the change in perception and strategy of individual companies' business records. Moreover, this study is significant as a starting point for discussion on the establishment of business archives professionals or organizations.

Background Applicants to integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery (PRS) residency in the United States spend exorbitant amounts of time and money throughout the interview process. Outside of first-hand experience through a visiting rotation, applicants utilize various resources in learning about a program. Today's applicants are "Millennials," the demographic cohort raised during the information age and proficient with digital technology. The authors evaluated whether programs have a presence on social media, and whether applicants are following these accounts. Methods An online survey was sent to applicants to a single integrated plastic surgery program evaluating basic demographics, social media utilization, and sources of information accessed throughout the residency application process. A manual search of popular social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) was performed in October 2019. Accounts affiliated with integrated PRS programs were identified and analyzed. Results Eighty-four of 222 applicants (37.8%) completed the survey. Ninety-six percent of applicants were within the Millennial demographic. Ninety-six percent of applicants had some form of social media presence, with Facebook (90%) and Instagram (87%) being the most popular platforms. Seventy-three percent of applicants reported following a PRS residency social media account. As of October 2019, 59 integrated residency programs (73%) have active Instagram accounts. Conclusions Applicants still rely on the program website when researching potential residencies, but social media is being rapidly adopted by programs. Program social media accounts should be used as a dynamic form of communication to better inform applicants of program strengths and weaknesses.
The purpose of this study is to explore the role of deconstruction and creative destruction in Maison Margiela’s fashion design code, which has opened the door to a new wave of innovative design since 1988. Using a combination of theoretical analysis, precedent research, and a review of existing literature, five years of Maison Margiela's works (2010-2014) were evaluated. The analysis shows that Maison Margiela’s Design Code consists of the following key elements: Addition, Extension, Asymmetry, Elimination, Deconstruction, Complanation, and Inversion. Addition refers to act of attaching additional pieces of fabric or clothing on the existing piece. Extension refers to the act of extending the design elements, such as their position or features. Asymmetry means the irregular positioning of left-to right and front-to-back length and features. Deconstruction could be seen in intentionally frayed sleeves, open seams, and tears in the cloth. The element of Elimination was evident in the removal of key pieces of clothing such as a coat, pants, blouse, and a jacket. Complanation refers to the reversion to a two dimensional contemplation of the human form rather than the more obvious 3-dimensional form. Finally, Inversion was used by displaying an inner layer of clothing on the outside or exposing seams or zippers in a way that people are not accustomed to seeing. It also meant that the order of wearing clothes was sometimes inverted, so external layers would be worn within clothing that are traditionally underneath. Purpose - International strategic alliance has been regarded as a strategic decision made by firms' managerial problems and ensure performance growth. From the perspective of the proactive behavior for changing strategies in a global market, this study aims to identify whether performance feedback influences firms' decisions to pursue strategic alliances. This study examines the effects of performance feedback on performance when firms use strategic alliances. Design/methodology - To analyze the impact of performance feedback on forming an international strategic alliance, this study adopt the concept of performance feedback to develop a research model and our hypotheses. Thus, this study used a two-stage least squares unbalanced panel data analysis with random effects. This study is based on 24,543 observations from Korean manufacturing firms from 2007 to 2016. Findings - The results show that firms pursue the formation of strategic alliances more actively, if their past financial and R&D performance are lower than their aspiration level, based on the result of performance feedback. An in split sample analysis for examining the effect of a firm's technology sophistication based on the OECD's classification, negative innovation performance discrepancy has positive effects on the probability of international alliance in high-tech and medium-high-tech industries. Financial performance also improves when a firm decides to form a strategic alliance based on the results of performance feedback. Originality/value - This research extends recent efforts to better understand the effect of performance feedback on firms' performance when they use strategic alliances. These findings suggest that the CEOs and managers of firms should consider the performance feedback perspective when deciding to pursue a strategic alliance to improve performance. In other words, the decision-makers in a firm must analyze and consider various complex variables inside and outside the firm and expand such subjects of examination to more complex and dynamic factors.
