  • This paper describes a result of the guidance and control for re-entry vehicle during TAEM phase. TAEM phase (Terminal Aerial Energy Management phase) has many conditions, such as density, velocity, and so on. Under these conditions, we have optimized trajectory and other states for guidance in TAEM phase. The optimized states consist of 7 variables, down-range, cross range, altitude, velocity, flight path angle, vehicle's azimuth and flight range. We obtained the optimized reference trajectory by DIDO tool, and used feedback linearization with neural network for control re-entry vehicle. By back propagation algorithm, vehicle dynamics is approximated to real one. New command can be decided using the approximated dynamics, delayed command input and plant output, NARMA-L2. The result by this control law shows a good performance of tracking onto the reference trajectory.

  • All over the nation, a lot of industrial complex utilize gas as their energy source. Possibilities are fire, explosion, and leakage could happen any time in these large complexes. To prevent these tragic accidents and to minimize the damage when the accident occurs, the development of diagnostic technology for these facilities is imperative. The safety check is conducted on an individual and partial basis, currently. Accordingly, the accumulation and improvement of the safety management technology is necessary in order to make all the different checking techniques and management systems compatible, since checking processes, result interpretation techniques, and subsequent prognoses are not the same. The program provides damage scenarios from gas leakage. The output enables policy makers to predict the degree of infliction. Through this program, engineers are able to design an effective gas safety program to operate and maintain ubiquitous gas facilities.

  • An analytic expression for equivalent square fields and a table are derived using the empirical representations obtained from the measured field size dependence of output for square field in a phantom. The expression is applicable to radiation fields that consistent with the following two assumptions Imposed on these representations. 1) It is a linear function of the logarithm of the field area, and 2) It is approximately the same function for both square and circular field of similar areas. In this paper, the derived tables and BJR table were consulted.

  • Internal air temperature of greenhouse is an important variable that can be influenced by the complex interaction between outside weather and greenhouse inside climate. This paper focuses on a data-based model approach to predict internal air temperature of the greenhouse. External air temperature, solar radiation, wind speed and wind direction were measured next to an experimental greenhouse supported by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute and used as input variables for the model. Internal air temperature was measured at the center of three sections of the greenhouse and used as an output variable. The proposed model consisted of a transfer function including the four input variables and tested the prediction accuracy according to the sampling interval of the input variables, the orders of model polynomials and the time delay variable. As a result, a second-order model was suitable to predict the internal air temperature having the predictable time of 20-30 minutes and average errors of less than ${\pm}1K$. Afterwards mechanistic interpretation was conducted based on the energy balance equation, and it was found that the resulting model was considered physically acceptable and satisfied the physical reality of the heat transfer phenomena in a greenhouse. The proposed data-based model approach is applicable to any input variables and is expected to be useful for predicting complex greenhouse microclimate involving environmental control systems.

  • Since most Green House Gases (GHGs) and air pollutants are generated from the same sources, it will be cost-effective to develop a GHGs reduction plan in combination with simultaneous removal of air pollutants. However, effects on air pollutants reduction according to implementing any GHG abatement plans have been rarely studied. Reflecting simultaneous removal of air pollutants along with the GHGs emission reduction, this study investigated relative cost effectiveness among GHGs reduction action plans in Busan Metropolitan City. We employed the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), a methodology that evaluates relative efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs) producing multiple outputs with multiple inputs, for the investigation. Assigning each GHGs reduction action plan to a DMU, implementation cost of each GHGs reduction action plan to an input, and reduction potential of GHGs and air pollutants by each GHGs reduction action plan to an output, we calculated efficiency scores for each GHGs reduction action plan. When the simultaneous removal of air pollutants with the GHGs reduction were considered, green house supply-insulation improvement and intelligent transportation system (ITS) projects had high efficiency scores for cost-positive action plans. For cost-negative action plans, green start network formation and running, and daily car use control program had high efficiency scores. When only the GHGs reduction was considered, project priority orders based on efficiency scores were somewhat different from those when both the removal of air pollutants and GHGs reduction were considered at the same time. The expected action plan priority difference is attributed to great difference of air pollutants reduction potential according to types of energy sources to be reduced.

  • In this study, we have designed the millimeter-wave passive imaging system which records energy that is reflected or emitted from the source and produces image. The lens and front-end of receiver appeared to be important in the system to detect input thermal noise signal. The lens for signal focusing has been designed by optical transfer function. Amplifier of the imaging systemhas been set up with 40dB in maximum gain, 5 dB in maximum noise figure, and 10GHz in bandwidth to enhance sensitivity for thermal noise and to receive it in wide-band width as well. The SBD MSS-20 141B10D diode has been used for the detector circuit to convert amplified millimeter-wave signals to DC output.

  • Recently, light emitting diodes (LEDs) have been studied to improve their efficiencies for the uses in various fields. Particularly in the aspect of chip structure, via hole type vertical LED chip is developed for improvement of light output power, and heat dissipations. However, current vertical type LEDs have still drawback, which is current concentration around the n-contact holes. In this research, to solve this phenomenon, we introduced isolation layer under n-contact electrodes. With this sub-electrode, even though the active area was decreased by about 2.7% compared with conventional via-hole type vertical LED, we could decrease the forward voltage by 0.2 V and wall-plug efficiency was improved approximately 4.2%. This is owing to uniform current flow through the area of n-contact.

  • Flash SSDs have many advantages over the existing hard disks such as energy efficiency, shock resistance, and high I/O throughput. For these reasons, in combination with the emergence of innovative technologies such as 3D-NAND and V-NAND for cheaper cost-per-byte, flash SSDs have been rapidly replacing hard disks in many areas. However, the existing database engines, which have been developed mainly assuming hard disks as the storage, could not fully exploit the characteristics of flash SSDs (e.g. internal parallelism). In this paper, in order to utilize the internal parallelism intrinsic to modern flash SSDs for faster query processing, we implemented a prefetching method using asynchronous input/output as a new functionality for secondary index scans in MySQL InnoDB engine. Compared to the original InnoDB engine, the proposed prefetching-based scan scheme shows three-fold higher performance in the case of 16KB-page sizes, and about 4.2-fold higher performance in the case of 4KB-page sizes.

  • Voice recognition systems which use a white noise and voice recognition environment are not correct voice recognition with variable voice mixture. Therefore in this paper, we propose a method using the convergence of Bayesian technique and selecting voice for effective voice recognition. we make use of bank frequency response coefficient for selective voice extraction, Using variables observed for the combination of all the possible two observations for this purpose, and has an voice signal noise information to the speech characteristic extraction selectively is obtained by the energy ratio on the output. It provide a noise elimination and recognition rates are improved with combine voice recognition of bayesian methode. The result which we confirmed that the recognition rate of 2.3% is higher than HMM and CHMM methods in vocabulary recognition, respectively.

  • Over-grown seaweeds in Donghae(east sea of Korea peninsula) may impedes ocean environment, however, they can be a good nutrient resources for poultry feeds if they are utilized properly. In this study, seaweeds powder were tested for laying hens\` ration to investigate the effects on egg production rate, egg quality and calcium phosphorus excretion. One hundred 65wks-old brown layers were fed for 5 weeks alotted with seaweeds powder addition to experimental diet by 0(control), 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%, respectively, and obtained following results; 1. Seaweeds proved a mid-protein low-energy feed resources with planty of K, Na, Ca, Mg, Sr and Fe. 2. Seaweeds addition by 0.5% and 1.0% improved egg production rate and egg-mass output markedly(p<0.05) than control. Seaweeds addition did not alter cholesterol level of yolk and yolk index, however egg shell thickness showed increasing trend by increasing seaweeds addition level. 3. Protein absorption and digestibility in seaweed addition treatments were significantly higher(p<0.05) than control group and protein contents of excreta in 0.5% and 1.0% treatments were reduced(p<0.05), which suggests effective protein metabolism for egg production. Increasing seaweeds addition reduces Ca and P contents in rectum and excreta, suggesting Ca and P utilization improvement in laying hens and lessening soil pollution. 4. In conclusion, seaweeds addition in layers' diet by 1.0% level improves egg-mass production and might be egg quality by increasing metabolism of protein, calcium and phosphorus.
