Development of Digital Controller and Monitoring System for UPS Inverter (UPS 인버터의 디지털 제어기 및 모니터링 시스템의 개발)

  • In this paper, a new fully digital control method for UPS inverter, which is based on the double control loop such as the outer voltage control loop and inner current control loop, is proposed. In the proposed control system, overshoots and oscillations due to the computation time-delay are compensated by explicit incorporation of the time-delay in the current control loop transfer function. The inner current control loop is adopted by an internal model controller. The internal model controller is designed to a second order deadbeat reference-to-output response which means that its response reaches the reference in two sampling time including computational time-delays. The outer voltage control loop employing P-Resonance controller is proposed. The resonance controller has an infinite gain at resonant frequency, and the resonant frequency is set to the fundamental frequency of the reference voltage in this paper. Thus the outer voltage control loop causes no steady state error as regard to both magnitude and phase. The effectiveness of the proposed control system has been verified by the simulation and experimental results respectively.

Efficient Detection Scheme for Turbo Coded QO-STBC Schemes (터보 부호와 결합된 준직교 시공간 블록 부호의 효율적인 검출 기법)

  • The performances of turbo-coded space-time block coding (STBC) schemes are subject to how soft decision detection (SDD) information are generated from the STBC decoder. For this reason, we have to pay particular attention to estimation of SDD. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a turbo coded STBC scheme depending on the accuracy of the SDD. Recently, a new quasi orthogonal STBC (QO-STBC) scheme using a noise whitened filter was proposed in order to reduce noise enhancing effect of zero forcing detection process. This QO-STBC scheme was proven to be efficient in computational complexity compared to the other conventional QO-STBC schemes. In this paper, we first present detailed mathematical analysis on the noise whitened QO-STBC scheme, and by using the result we propose the optimum SDD method.

  • The first theme of this study is to preserve and manage rural multi-functionality resource Information. This study is to suggest the method that can irradiate rural multi-functionality resource Information efficiently and constructively. GIS uses PDA and Tablet PC as an investigation tool and verifies the outcome of the development in the investigation system. This study enhanced the mobility function of PDA by installing recording system and camera to the PDA. Also, Using GPS has been ensured scientific precision and realism to the investigation. Direct input on spot can save time, cost and minimize human error by simplifying the investigation process. Database is composed of characters like scale, form, location, distance, resident's opinion and image of 37 resources. The survey system was applied in 170 villages and got a total of 12,270 resources data. Management system should be easy to input and output the surveyed information and to get reports in any kind of form ( i.e. final result can be produced as a map). By utilizing of the Rural Resource information system, the study made a simulation to compare the target areas before and after. Also, digitalized investigation system, minimized re-input and reprocessing of data and enabled to simplify and standardize the process than memorandum investigation. Data collected through digital system could offer people useful information by Web-GIS. It was need to specify practical way in decision-making and a way to measure the value of resources to align with the regional plan. Also, need to keep on developing statistical data and application program that can connect us to present the best solution to support regional planning. Therefore, quality of data is very important. Finally, it is very important to develop various programs to analyze space md rural resource by monitoring rural environment.

  • BY the Transformers and reactors, the input electrical energy is converted into magnetic energy. At the end through the magnetic energy was passed at the output parameter. Specially At the flyback transformer or a reactor airgap were designed to contain more magnetic energy. But that work is very difficult for the optimal design. It is that Contradictions are between the length of the Air-gap, Winding inductance, DC bias. As to e Several conflicting conditions in order to determine the optimum Air-gap has a lot of experience and trial & error is necessary. The approach proposed in this paper, the auxiliary winding on the core attached to part of primary core, that by applying a DC voltage has a dramatic effect like Core with designed Air-gap. This inventiveness and advantage is to regulate arbitrarily the Saturation Flux Quantity by the input signal to secondary winding. Accordingly obtained the biggest effect is that increasing limits of the saturation current destined by the material and shape of the conventional core. In other words, that can decreas the size of the transformer and reactor, While maintaining the current saturation capacity. Design of the DC-DC Buck Converter for Mobile Application Using PWM/PFM Mode (PWM/PFM 모드를 이용한 모바일용 벅 변환기 설계)

  • This paper presents a high efficiency DC-DC buck converter for mobile device. The circuit employes simplified compensation circuit for its portability and for high efficiency at stand-by mode. This device operates at PFM mode when it enters stand-by mode(light load). In order to place the compensation circuit on chip, the capacitor multiplier method is employed, such that it can minimize the compensation block size of the error amplifier down to 30%. The measurement results show that the buck converter provides a peak efficiency of 93% on PWM mode, and 92.3% on PFM mode. The converter has been fabricated with a $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The input voltage of the buck converter ranges from 2.5V to 3.3V and it generates the output of 3.3V.

  • In line with the "mandatory seismic design of fire protection facilities," development of design automation software is indispensable for improving the reliability and efficiency of seismic design. The seismic design automation software developed in this study is an automated S/W for seismic design of fire-fighting facilities, and functions such as automatic arrangement of anti-shake braces according to Korea National Fire Agency's Seismic Design Standards for fire-fighting facilities, output of seismic bracing calculation bills and automatic quantities counting. In addition, the seismic design automation software not only reduces the work speed by three times compared to the manual design of the designer, but also improves the reliability of the design by reducing the human error related to the design quantity such as the brace. In addition, in the seismic design method of fire protection facilities that have been approached conservatively, it was possible to perform the optimal seismic design by using computer algorithms for at least in the use of braces.

Performance Analysis of Frame Synchronization and Structure Detection Utilizing Multiple Frames of the DVB-S2 Satellite Broadcasting System (다수개 프레임을 활용한 DVB-S2 위성방송 시스템의 프레임 동기 및 구조 검출 성능 분석)

  • DVB-S2 (Digital Video Broadcasting-Satellite, Version 2) system transmits frames which adapt their structures based on the channel conditions, thus requiring simultaneous detection of the start of the Same (SoF) and the frame structure at the initial acquisition stage of the receiver. Also, a very low value of the minimum operating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for the acquisition necessitates a method utilizing multiple received frames to meet the required performance. In this paper, performance of joint time synchronization and frame structure detection methods using multiple DVB-S2 frames is evaluated by deriving the detection error probability. In particular, we evaluate the performance and complexity variations when the soft- and hard-decision values of the signal correlation output are used, present the synchronization parameters to optimize the performance, and verify the analysis results via computer simulations.

State Equation Modeling and the Optimum Control of a Variable-Speed Refrigeration System (가변속 냉동시스템의 상태방정식 모델링과 최적제어)

  • This paper deals with precise analytical state equation modeling of a variable speed refrigeration system (VSRS) for optimum control in state space. The VSRS is described as multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) system, which has two controlled variables and two control inputs. First, the Navier-Stokes equation and mass flow rate were applied to each component of the basic refrigeration cycle to build a dynamic model. The dynamic model, represented by a differential equation, was transformed into the state equation formula. Next, a full-order state observer was built to estimate all of the state variables to compose an optimum control system. Then, an optimum controller was designed to minimize an evaluation function that has input energy and control error. Finally, simulations and experiments were conducted to verify the validity of the proposed modeling and designed optimum controller to regulate target temperature and superheat in a 1RT oil cooler system. The results show that the proposed method, state equation modeling and optimum control, is efficient to ensure optimal control performance of the VSRS.

  • Generally, traditional approaches to track the target position are to estimate ranges and bearings by 2-D MUSIC (MUltiple 519na1 Classification) method. and to associate estimates of 2-D MUSIC made at different time points with the right targets by JPDA (Joint Probabilistic Data Association) filter in the near field. However, the disadvantages of these approaches are that these have the data association Problem in tracking multiple targets. and that these require the heavy computational load in estimating a 2-D range/bearing spectrum. In case multiple targets are adjacent. the tracking performance degrades seriously because the estimate of each target's Position has a large error. In this paper, we proposed a new tracking algorithm using Position innovations extracted from the senor output covariance matrix in the near field. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated by the computer simulations dealing with the tracking of multiple closing and crossing targets.

Function Approximation for Refrigerant Using the Neural Networks (신경회로망을 사용한 냉매의 함수근사)

  • In numerical analysis on the thermal performance of the heat exchanger with phase change fluids, the numerical values of thermodynamic properties are needed. But the steam table should be modeled properly as the direct use of thermodynamic properties of the steam table is impossible. In this study the function approximation characteristics of neural networks was used in modeling the saturated vapor region of refrigerant R12. The neural network consists of one input layer with one node, two hidden layers with 10 and 20 nodes each and one output layer with 7 nodes. Input can be both saturation temperature and saturation pressure and two cases were examined. The proposed model gives percentage error of ${\pm}$0.005% for enthalpy and entropy, ${\pm}$0.02% for specific volume and ${\pm}$0.02% for saturation pressure and saturation temperature except several points. From this results neural network could be a powerful method in function approximation of saturated vapor region of R12.
