  • In this paper, we present methods to improve output flatness of Ultra-wideband(f1~80f1) Frequency Generator (UFG) with variable output function. That include optimal structure and output ripple calibration algorithm to realize good flatness. The UFG was manufactured by our methods, then experiments were performed. The flatness of band 1~3 and band 4 are within ${\pm}2dB$, ${\pm}4dB$ respectively. These results are very excellent in view of ultra-wideband including millimeter wave band. From this results, we can confirm the validity of our methods.

  • Pressure transducers are increasingly used within soil mass or at soil-structure interface for appraisal of stresses acting at point of installation. Calibration of pressure transducers provides a unique relationship between applied pressure and voltage or strain sensed by transducer during various loading conditions and is crucial for proper interpretation of results obtained from pressure transducers. In the present study an in-house calibration device is used to calibrate pressure transducers and the study is divided into two parts: 1) demonstration of developed calibration device for fluid and in-soil calibration of pressure transducers; 2) effect of soil layer thickness on the earth pressure cell (EPC) output. Results obtained from the present study revealed successful performance of the developed calibration device, and significant effect of sand layer thickness on the calibration results. The optimum sand layer thickness is obtained as 1.5 times the diameter of EPC.

  • Since PV PCS uses output current sensor for ac output current control, the sensor's sensing value includes unnecessary offset inevitably. If PV inverter is controlled by the included offset value, it's output current will generate DC offset. The DC offset of output current for trans-less PV inverter is fatal to grid, which results in saturating grid side transformer. Usually DSP controller of PV inverter reads several times sensing value during initial operation and, finally, it's average value is used for offset calibration. However, if temperature changes, the offset changes, too. And also, the switch device is not ideal, both each switching element of the voltage drop difference and on & off time delay difference generate DC offset. Thus, to compensate for deadtime and the switch voltage drop, feedback control by output current DC offset should be provided to compensate additional distortion of the output current. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed through PSIM simulation.

  • This study is to keep the accuracy and stability of the output dose evaluations for linear accelerator photon beams by using the air ionization chambers (TM31010, 0.125 cc, PTW) through the Task Group 51 protocol. The absorbed dose to water calibration factor $N_{dw}{^{Co-60}}$ was delivered from the air kerma calibration factor $N_k$ which was provided from manufacture through SSDL calibration for determination of output factor. The ionization chamber of TM31010 series was reviewed the calibration factor and other parameters for reduce the uncertainty within ${\pm}2%$ discrepancy and we found the supplied $N_{dw}{^{Co-60}}$ which was derived from Nk has shown a -2.8% uncertainty compare to that of PSDL. The authors provided the program to perform the output dosimetry with TG-51 protocol as it is composed same screen of TG-51 worksheets. The evaluated dose by determination of output factor delivered to postal TLD block for comparison the output dose to that of MDACC (RPC) in postal monitoring program. The results have shown the $1.001{\pm}0.013$ for 6 MV and $0.997{\pm}0.012$ discrepancy for 15 MV X rays for 5 years followed. This study shows the evaluated outputs for linear accelerate photon beams are very close to that of international output monitor with small discrepancy of ${\pm}1.3%$ with high reliability and showing the gradually stability after 2010.

  • Calibration equation for Variable Temperature Anemometer(VTA) has been tested for measured velocity-output data and the calibration process has been compared with that of Constant Temperature Anemometer(CTA). VTA has greater sensitivity than that of any other conventional anemometers, but to be more popular technique in flow field measurement, simple, accurate and well established calibration process should be suggested. To meet this purpose, similar calibration method used for CTA has been adopted for VTA and finally calibration equation for VTA including the effect of temperature drift has been proposed.

  • This paper describes the methods for calibration and evaluation of the relative expanded uncertainty of a multi-axis force/moment sensor. In order to use the sensor in the industry, it should be calibrated and its relative expanded uncertainty should be also evaluated. At present, the confidence of the sensor is shown with only interference error. However, it is not accurate, because the calibrated multi-axis force/moment sensor has an interference error as well as a reproducibility error of the sensor, etc. In this paper, the methods fur calibration and for evaluation of the relative expanded uncertainty of a multi-axis force/moment sensor are newly proposed. Also, a six-axis force/moment sensor is calibrated with the proposed calibration method and the relative expanded uncertainty is evaluated using the proposed uncertainty evaluation method and the calibration results. It is thought that the methods fur calibration and evaluation of the uncertainty can be usually used for calibration and evaluation of the uncertainty of the multi-axis force/moment sensor.

  • In this paper we will deal with a calibration method for low cost motion capture system using psd(position sensitive detection) optical sensor. To measure the incident direction of the light from LED emitted marker, the PSD is used the output current ratio on the electrode of PSD is proportional with the incident position of the light focused by lens. In order to defect the direction of the light, the current output is converted into digital voltage value by opamp circuits peak detector and AD converter with the digital value the incident position is measured. Unfortunately, due to the non-linearly problem of the circuit poor position accuracy is shown. To overcome such problems, we compensated the non-linearly by using least-square fitting method. After compensated the non-linearly in the circuit, the system showed more enhanced position accuracy.

  • We have developed and estimated the measurement system of $CO_2$ and Nd:YAG laser power of wide range. The absorber is made of gold-plated copper cavity. The calibration heater is using a manganin(CuMn12Ni) coil, and output power is measured by using or resistance bridge with composed manganin and copper coil. Developed system can measure 5${\~}$1000W laser output power range. Calibration factors are 489.13J/mV at 100W and 497.04(J/mV) at 500W. correction factors are 0.99 at 100W and 1.006 at 500W.

Given without precise equipments which can generate acceleration and angular velocity, a simple method is derived to calibrate the parameters of i/o eqijations. Also in order to upgrade ins performance, methods to estimate variant magnitudes of time variant parameters are surveyed.

  • The paper presents the advanced radiometric calibration method, called the lRCM (Iterative Radiometric Calibration Method), in order to avoid an operational constraint (solar source) for calibration. The IRCM assumes that an optical instrument is equipped with a filter assembly which consists of same band filters with different transmission ratios. Given all the noise sources (including the artificial one caused by the filters) of an image sensor, the noncentral ${\chi}^2$ distribution of the output result is induced by the approach of a noise PDF (Power Density Function). Finally, the radiometric calibration problem is transformed into equating two independent relations for the image sensor gains through the specified distribution.
