지중송전케이블 종단접속함 종류에 따른 외기 및 운전온도에 의한 열특성 분석 (Thermal Characteristics Analysis by Ambient and Operating Temperature according to the Kinds of Terminations in Underground Power Cable Systems)

  • This paper describes the thermal characteristics of underground power cable system terminations according to the change of ambient temperature as well as operating temperature. Recently, the failure has been gradually increasing in outdoor termination during winter season because the power demand was increased by electricity heating system. The power demand and outdoor temperature is difference between day time and night time. The temperature difference has an influence on conductor extension and shrinkage due to conductor force as well as thermal mechanical characteristics. These phenomena have daily repeated during heating and cooling period of conductors. In these cases, the insulation of outdoor terminations might be degraded by the reduced interface pressure surrounding stress relief cone. Therefore, in this paper, the thermal characteristics are variously analysed by simulation considering power demand and ambient temperature condition during winter season at epoxy type termination as well as slip-on type termination

HVDC 슬립 온형 기중 종단접속함에 대한 열 영향 반영 DC 전계 특성 평가 (DC Electric Field Characteristics considering Thermal Effect for HVDC Slip-on Type Outdoor Termination)

  • 기중종단 접속함은 지중케이블과 가공송전선을 연결하기 위한 접속함으로써 옥외 변전소 등의 대기 중에 설치된다. 이는 21세기 핵심기술로 여겨지고 있는 대륙 간, 국가 간, 육지-섬을 잇는 HVDC 송전선로의 DC 그리드 송전망 형성을 위해 반드시 개발되어야 하는 전력기기이다. 그러나 AC용 접속함의 개발 사례는 다수 존재하는 반면, DC용 접속함의 개발 사례 및 기술은 일본과 중국 등에 일부 존재할 뿐 국내 기술은 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 AC용 슬립 온형 기중 종단접속함을 초기모델로 선정하여 HVDC 전력기기로의 적용 가능성을 평가하였다. 먼저 실제 운전 시 기중종단 접속함 내 도체에서 발생하는 열에 의한 내 외부의 온도편차를 고려한 DC 전계해석을 수행하였으며, AC 전계분포 및 열 해석이 반영되지 않은 DC 전계분포와 비교하였다. 또한 DC 전계는 정상상태 뿐만 아니라 과도 구간도 포함하기 때문에 이를 고려한 전계해석을 수행할 필요가 있기 때문에 정상상태와 더불어 극성반전 후 전계분포 역시 비교, 분석하였다. 마지막으로, 기존 AC용 슬립 온형 기중 종단접속함 초기모델을 DC에 적용하기 위해 다양한 형상 변환을 통한 요소 설계를 수행하였다. 기중종단 접속함 구조 내 전계가 가장 집중될 것으로 사료되는 부분을 선정하여 그 지점들의 최대 전계강도 $E_{n.max}$$E_{t.max}$를 측정하였다. 해석 결과, 정상상태시 개선모델의 삼중점 최대 전계강도는 기준모델 대비 2.01% 개선되었으며, 연면 최대 전계강도는 기준모델 대비 36.68% 개선되었다. AC 전계해석 결과인 연면 전계강도 1.11 kV/mm보다는 33.3% 감소하였지만 삼중점 최대 전계강도 8.23 kV/mm보다는 아직 43.6% 크다는 점에서 부분적인 형상 변환이 아닌 DC 환경에 적합한 전혀 다른 근본적인 설계 개념의 변화가 반드시 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

C/H 철탑 종단접속함 보호용 피뢰기 리드선 길이에 따른 뇌과전압 분석 (Analysis on Lightning Overvoltage According to Lead Length of Surge Arrester for Underground Cable Outdoor Termination Protection at C/H Tower)

  • This paper describes the lightning arrester transients in cable head termination. The installation references of cable head tower and lightning arresters are firstly reviewed, then the performance of lightning arrester operation is also evaluated based on lightning overvoltage analysis by the change of grounding lead cable length. This paper finally proposes the optimal length of grounding lead cable at the cable head termination. The limited lightning current is also proposed according to the change of grounding lead cable length. The results will contribute to protecting insulation breakdown failure against lightning surge at the terminations and joints.

  • A description is given of impregnated silicone rubber used in accessories for application on outdoor termination (EB-A). We examines the effects of swelling and mechanical/electrical characteristics for impregnated silicone rubber to develop slip on type sleeve of silicone material. There are semi-conductive silicone rubber and insulation silicone rubber. This examination is monitored as a function of the viscosity and temperature of oil during 30hr. We measure elongation at breakdown and AC breakdown strength and volume resistivities of the oil-impregnated silicone rubbers. The measured values are compared to initial value as function of stress relief cone.

  • This work examines the effects of swelling MI type HVDC cable oil on the semiconductive silicone rubber and silicone rubber as used in accessories for application on outdoor termination (EBA) slip on sleeve. The behavior of volume resistivity is monitored as a function of the amount of cable oil diffused into the material. Resistivities of semiconductive silicone samples up to the typical insulator range (${\sim}10^{10}{\Omega}-cm$) are observed as a consequence of swelling due to the presence of the diffused oil. The measured volume resistivities of the oil-impregnated semiconductive silicone rubber are compared to desired value as function of stress relief cone.

  • With the increase of electric power demand in the downtown area. many problems, such as the difficulty in security of substation site and interference of the electromagnetic wave or damage to person due to outdoor type substation facilities has been occured. Therefore, the compaction of substation facilities is required and the gas insulated switchgear(GIS) has been adopted accordingly. However, much care should be taken of the interface problem between cable and GIS. This paper describes the failure analysis and a countmeasure for prevent ion from failure in the interface.

  • Crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated cables are now widely used all over the world for extra-high voltage underground transmission systems. Prefabricated type (compression type) joint has developed in order to shorten the assembly time and lower the possibility of contamination at site by many companies in the world. For outdoor termination, to control the electric field distribution as uniform as possible, especially for the use of extra-high voltage system. much of products are adopting the oil-impregnated condensor cone type instead of electric field control element which uses the permitivity of it only (not capacitance). For Gas-immersed termination, dimension of outer insulation bushing was determined by IEC Publication 859. The highest voltage of underground power cable system is 345kV now, in Korea. We have much of experiences of the development of prefabricated type accessories for CV cable systems (154kV, 161kV, 230kV level). So it was possible to inspect the proto type of accessories for 345kV CV cable system and seems that the need time for the development of products is reduced.

  • DAPAS (Development of Advanced Power system by Applied Superconductivity technologies) program that the, superconductivity national program has been started one of the 21C frontier programs from 2001 in Korea. The 3rd phase of DAPAS program was started at April 2007, and the ultimate goal of HTS cable project is to develop 154kV, 1GVA class HTS cable. The structure of 154kV, 1GVA HTS cable is single core with cold dielectric insulation. The cable core consists of the former, conduction layer, electrical insulation layer, shielding layer. The cable cryostat consists of two corrugated seamless aluminum tubes as its high sealing reliability, the tubes separated through a spacer arrangement. Outdoor termination was developed by LS cable and cryogenic system by CVE for 154kV, 1GVA class HTS cable. The 154kV, 1GVA HTS cable will be installed and be tested in KEPCO Gochang Testing Center from June 2010.
