Objective: The purpose of this study was to prepare evidence for the prevention and management of nonspecific chronic neck pain (NSCNP) by examining the correlation between activity of daily living and physical activities of office workers with NSCNP. Design: Crossed-sectional study Methods: 89 patients with NSCNP were recruited for this study. But 2 subjects met the exclusion criteria and were dropped out, and 86 subjects finally participated. Numerical pain rating scale (NPRS) and neck disability index (NDI) were used to check the pain intensity and disability of patients with neck pain, respectively. For the activity of daily living, computer use time, sleep time, and driving time were used. To find out the physical activities of the subjects, International Physical Activity Questionnaires (IPAQ-SF) was used. Correlation analysis was performed to find out the correlation of each variable. Results: A clear positive correlation was established between computer use time and pain (p<0.05), and a clear positive correlation was established between computer use time and disability index (p<0.05). The correlation between NPRS and NDI and physical activity total time, high intensity activity score, moderate intensity activity score, and walking score were not statistically significant (p>0.05). Conclusions: In treating patients with NSCNP, it is necessary to reduce the computer usage time as a professional factor or to educate the proper posture. In addition, rather than emphasizing physically comprehensive physical activity, grafting therapeutic exercise directly related to neck pain could have a more positive effect on NSCNP patients.
The Korean National curriculum is divided into the curriculum, discretion, and extra curriculum activity. Extra curriculum among them consists of fie grounds, that is, a self-governing, adjusting, developing, service and exercise activity. The content of developing activity among them includes academic literary arts, in that the developing activity related to science. The developing activity connected with science can be a good chance which students can have deepened learning besides a regular course. In addition, effective management in science class can play an important role to cultivate scientific sense and to raise scientific talent. The study finds out how the management connected with science-related extra-curricula activity in science is actually going on. The study carries out a questionnaire with 40 teachers and interviews 5 teachers as well who are in charge of science-related extra-curricula activity connected with science. As a result, on the side of students, ① systematic introduction course in science is not given to them, ② the course is operating without considering students interests and levels, so it causes the problems of developing their potential ability and extension. On the side of teachers, ① they organize the science department based on school's situation and policy. ② they disregard teachers' roles and interests. ③ the science department's program is operating improvisedly rather than systematically, ④ the evaluation is done formally is found out. I have come to know that to manage a desirable science-related extra-curricula activity connected with science needs to have sufficient, detailed materials and experts from outside.
It is essential to predict the radioactivity distribution around the reactor cooling system (RCS) during obligatory cyclic operation of AP-1000. A home-developed program CPA-AP1000 is upgraded to predict the response of activated corrosion products (ACPs) in the RCS. The program is written in MATLAB and it uses state of the art MCNP as a subroutine for flux calculations. A pair of cyclic power profiles were superimposed after initial full power operation. The effect of cyclic operation is noticed to be more prominent for in-core surfaces, followed by the primary coolant and out-of-core structures. The results have shown that specific activity trends of $^{56}Mn$ and $^{24}Na$ promptly follow the power variations, whereas, $^{59}Fe$, $^{58}Co$, $^{99}Mo$ and $^{60}Co$ exhibit a sluggish power-following response. The investigations pointed out that promptly power-following response of ACPs in the coolant is vital as an instant radioactivity source during leakage incidents. However, the ACPs with delayed power-following response in the out-of-core components are perceived to cause a long-term activity. The present results are found in good agreement with those for a reference PWR. The results are useful for source term monitoring and optimization of work procedures for an innovative reactor design.

The aim of this study was to find out how the activity and the effect of the service of school library assistance is done. To this end, a library in S high school was visited, and interviews were conducted with regard to the student assistants to find out how the selection of new members, operating organization and activities are done. Also, a survey was conducted to examine the service activity and satisfaction level with regard to 77 student assistants in libraries of four high schools. In addition, a survey was conducted to find out the satisfaction level of the service provided by the student assistants in the school library with regard to 386 general students. The study results showed that the satisfaction level of the student assistants in the school library was high, and the satisfaction level of the service provided by the student assistants in the school library was positive.

Students experience science not only through school science lessons but also through various other channels. Science-related facilities, including science museums and centers, are important channels for informal science education. Korea has a number of governmental and private facilities in which young people can experience various aspects of scientific activities, and many of them also provide the programs supporting out-of-school science activities. However, there has been no systematic survey study on those facilities providing out-of-school activities, thus they have not been used effectively as well as their social utility is not fully realized. To this end, in 2002 researchers of this study carried out surveys (1) of the facilities supporting out-of-school science activities and (2) of science programs provided by these facilities. The surveys show that there are approximately 180 facilities supporting science activities in Korea. More than 40% of them are located in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. Among them, the proportion of special theme science museums was the greatest (37.9%). The facilities supporting out-of-school science activities usually do not target the specific age groups but are intended for all people. The proportion of governmental facilities exceeds that of private ones. 41.8% of the facilities examined in this study run their own science activity programs. Among the 10 categories of the programs, 'science class' type programs were the most common. There were more programs for elementary and middle school students than preschoolers, high school students and adults. The contents of the programs were more related to astronomy and meteorology, the observation of living things and field trips. Despite their high practical potential, the special theme science museums were found to be lacking in relevant programs, which could fulfill their values for informal science education.
A Science Camp Program was developed and applied as an intensified course for gifted students. The implications for the development and implementation of out-of-school science activities were also deduced through the analysis of the preliminary application results. The key point of the science camp program is to boost students' science inquiry skills through self-directed activities. Several positive effects in terms of interest and participation in the program were observed and some implications were derived as follows; (1) The program should provide the students with more opportunities for discussion and debate in group activities. (2) The tasks need be divided into two parts; basic tasks and optional tasks in order to ensure that the students engage in fewer tasks more intensively. (3) Each activity needs sufficient orientation taking consideration of the possibility that not all students may be ready for the inquiry. (4) The use of real examples of scientific research processes can help the students develop open inquiry skills and problem posing skills.
Objective: The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of shoe sole deformation on the muscle activity and balance of the lower extremities when standing on one foot. Design: Crossed-control group study Methods: A total of 18 healthy adults participated in this study. 9 participants with normal shoe and 9 participants with deformed in shoe out-soles (wear shoes) were included. Muscle activity of the tibialis anterior, fibularis longus and gluteus medius during one leg standing was measured using a electromyography. A balance board was used to evaluate balance ability when standing on one leg. The balance ability when standing on one leg was measured by the sway speed and distance of the center of gravity. Results: Muscle activity of the tibialis anterior, fibularis longus and gluteus medius was no significant difference between groups (P > 0.05). Balance ability when standing on one leg was significantly different from the group wearing normal shoes in all variables related to the sway distance and sway speed of the center of gravity. Conclusions: Through this study, the wear of the outer sole of the shoe indirectly confirmed the effect on the wearer's lower extremity muscle activity and balance ability when standing on one foot. These results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for future studies on shoe wear, lower extremity muscle activity and balance ability.
This study analysed the result of a survey answered by 120 technology teachers and 360 students from 357 middle schools in Seoul to find out the actual state of safety accidents during technology education activity course in the middle school class and safety awareness of the teachers and students. The result shows that many safety accidents happen during technology education activity course in the middle school class. However, most teachers and students have experienced safety accidents or dangerous situations more than once a year. Technology teachers had very low awareness on the states of retaining safety equipments. On the other hand, they were well aware of the importance of safety, including the actual states of safety education, knowledge of safety, and the will to join safety education. Therefore, safety awareness of technology teachers should be reinforced by the extension of safety training and the improvement of safe environments.

The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of the role-playing analogy activity-based class on the academic achievement in science and the science process skills of elementary school students. One experimental group and one control group of 4th grade students were selected to perform a prior investigation on the academic achievement in science and the science process skill. Then the experimental group attended science lessons that were based on the role-playing analogy activity and the control group attended the traditional science lessons based on the text book and teacher's guide. After conducting lessons, a post investigation was performed for each group and the results were analyzed to produce the following conclusions. First, the role-playing analogy activity class was more effective to improve students' academic achievements than the traditional science class. And the role-playing analogy activity class was more effective to learners in the high-level group, which made a scores above the average in prior investigation on the academic achievement, whereas it was little effective to those in the low-level group. Second, the role-playing analogy activity class was effective to enhance students' science process skills than the traditional science class. And the role-playing analogy activity class was more effective to the learners' in the high-level group than those in the low-level group.

Under this research, the survey is made on the definitive influence of the first-year education process of the science focus school for each of humanities, science and science core courses and the level of satisfaction of the non-curriculum experiment activity program for each course to find out the effectiveness of the first-year education process of the science focus school. For this purpose, this research has set three research issues. First, By clarifying the research result through the first-year education curriculum for science core school, noticeable change was observed for science focus school students through the change of attitude related to science for each desired course of students. Second, in the self-directed learning characteristics change, there was meaningful change for each desired field of students. Students hoping for humanities curriculum had great help in improvement of creative thinking for openness, creativeness and the like, but the influence was slightly insufficient in the moderation and control capability on themselves in learning attitude. Third, By analyzing the research result comprehensively, the first-year education curriculum for science core school provides high level of tailored science learning for the science focus school students and the level of satisfaction for students was significantly high.
