  • The main objective of this research is to develop a model to select the optimal input service level for a distribution center-multi branch inventory distribution system. With the continuous review policy, the distribution center places an order for specific order quantity to an outside supplier, and the order quantity is replenished after a certain lead time Also, each branch places an order for particular order quantity to the distribution center to satisfy the customer demands, and receives the replenishment after a lead time. When an out of stock condition occurs during an order cycle, a backorder is placed to the upper level to fill the unfilled demands. With these situation, variable demand and variable lead time are used for better industrial practice. Further, actual lead times with a generic lead time distribution are used in developing the control model. Under the actual lead time model, the customer service measures actually attained for the distribution center and each branch are explained as the effective customer service measures. Thus, throughout the optimal control (using computer search procedures), we can select the optimal input service levels for the distribution center and each branch to attain the effective service levels for each branch which is consistent with the goal level of service for each branch. At the same time, the entire distribution system keeps minimum inventories.

  • Al films on cold-rolled steel sheet have been prepared by vacuum evaporation and arc-induced ion plating, respectively, and the evaporation rate and vapor distribution (thickness distribution over the substrate) have been investigated according to deposition conditions. The arc-induced ion plating (AIIP) method have been employed, which makes use of arc-like discharge current induced by ionization electrode located near the evaporation source. The AIIP takes advantage of high ionization rate compared with conventional ion plating, and can be carried out at low pressure of less than $10^{-4}$ torr. Very high evaporation rate of more than 2.0 mu\textrm{m}$/min could be achieved for Al evaporation using alumina liner by electron beam evaporation. The geometry factor n for the $cos^{n/\phi}$ vapor distribution, which affects the thickness distribution of films at the substrate turned out to be around 1 for vacuum evaporation, while it features around 2 or higher for ion plating. For the ion plated films, it has been found that the ionization condition and substrate bias are the main parameters to affect the thickness distribution of the films.

  • The aim of this study was to compile a species list of endemic water beetles of Mongolia and determine their distribution patterns. A total of 1,179 individuals of endemic water beetles were collected from nine different sub-basins (123 sample points) throughout the country. Currently, 21 endemic and sub-endemic species have been recorded in Mongolia. Eight of these species were strictly endemic. The endemic and sub-endemic species were found only among four families: Dytiscidae (10 out 99 spp.), Gyrinidae (1 out 7 spp.), Helophoridae (5 out 16 spp.), and Hydraenidae (5 out 13 spp.). The rate of endemism was higher in Hydraenidae than other families (38.4%). Endemic beetle fauna was most similar between the Onon and Kherlen River Basins (80%). Helophorus parajacutus Angus, 1970 was common in five sub-basins, but Agabus kaszabi $Gu{\acute{e}}orguiev$, 1972, Gyrinus sugunurensis Nilsson, 2001 and Ochthebius mongolicus Janssens, 1967 were recorded from only one sub-basin. In terms of sub-endemic species, Mongolia was mostly similar to the fauna of Eastern Siberia, Russia (73.7%) than other neighboring regions. Due to Mongolia's vast territory and different natural zones, endemism was exceptionally low (12.4%), but these data provide baseline information of endemic and rare species for their further conservation.

  • Lawsonia intracellularis is the pathogenic agent of porcine proliferative enteritis (PPE). The bacterial pathogen infects the intestinal crypt cells which causes hyperplasia of the infected cells and leads to the process of intestinal pathogenesis. PPE includes some clinical maninfestations, including acute hemorrhagic diarrhea with sudden death in growing pigs and porcine intestinal adenomatosis, to a chronic diarrhea with reduced productivity of the infected pigs. The purpose of the present studies were carried out to determine L. intracellularis in livestock transport car of slaughterhouse. Distribution of L. intracellularis in livestock transport car were conducted using real-time polymerase chain reaction (real-time PCR) testing method, total 300 samples. Of 300 samples, 119 (39.7%) were detected as positive to L. intracellularis in livestock transport car. In seasonal analysis, 42 (28.0%) out of 150 samples in spring and summer season. 77 (51.3%) out of 150 sample in autumn and winter season. In regional analysis, 53 (88.3%) out of 60 cars and the detection ratio showed that regional variation in livestock transport car.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of coating pigments on the printability by investigating the pore structure of casting layer such as the number, size and distribution of pores and the pore rate. The coating structure was mainly determined by the interaction between pigment and binder. It means that the structure of pores was chiefly affected by the shape and size distribution of pigments and their packing rate. The physical properties of pore have close relationships with ink set-off, the speed of ink penetration and printing gloss. The results suggested that the rate and number of pores were greatly affected by the particle size distribution and shape of pigments. The rate of pore increased with the reduction of particle size distribution of pigments. Calcite was effective to improve greatly the printability of coated paper.

  • The formation of thermal stresses by plasma spraying is generally considered as adverse. Therefore, the knowledge of stress distribution in the deposited layer during and after plasma spraying will be of special interest. In this study finite difference heat transfer analysis and finite element stress analysis were carried out to predict the change of stress distribution in the plasma coated layer with the variations of preheat temperature, number of scan, particle size, and bond coat. The results of the numerical analysis were as follows: 1) Transient stresses developed in the coated layer were up to the level of yiedl strength at the temperature. 2) The tensile stresses were developed in the deposited layer and the surface of the substrate, but the compressive stresses were developed in the rest of the substrate. 3) Transient and residual stresses were significantly affected by the preheat temperature. 4) The variations of temperature of powder particle and number of torch scan changed tensile stress distribution, but made no difference on the magnitude of the stresses. 5) Bond coated layer reduced the stree level of deposited layer.

  • The tidal radii of globular clusters reflect the tidal field of the Galaxy. The mass distribution of the Galaxy thus may be obtained if the tidal fields of clusters are well known. Although large amounts of uncertainties in the determination of tidal radii have been obstacles in utilizing this method, analysis of tidal density could give independent check for the Galactic mass distribution. Recent theoretical modeling of dynamical evolution including steady Galactic tidal field shows that the observationally determined tidal radii could be systematically larger by about a factor of 1.5 compared to the theoretical values. From the analysis of entire sample of 148 globular clusters and 7 dwarf spheroidal systems compiled by Webbink (1985), we find that such reduction from observed values would make the tidal density (the mean density within the tidal radius) distribution consistent with the flat rotation curve of our Galaxy out to large distances if the velocity distribution of clusters and dwarf spheroidals with respect to the Galactic center is isotropic.
