  • Stress distribution and deformation on the CT-type(Cross Tension type) spot welded lap joint subjected to out of plane tensile load were investigated by finite element method. Using the maximum principal stresses at the nugget edge obtained by FEM analysis, evaluated the fatigue strength of the CT-type spot welded lap joints having various dimensions and materials. and also, the influence of the geometrical parameters of CT-type spot welded lap joints on stress distribution and fatigue strength must be evaluated. thus, in this paper, ${\Delta}P-N_f$ curve were obtained by fatigue tests. Using these results, ${\Delta}P-N_f$ curve were systematically rearranged in the $\Delta\sigma-N_f$ relation with the hot spot stresses at the CT-type spot welded lab joints. It was found that the proposed $\Delta\sigma-N_f$ relation could provide a more reasonable fatigue design criterion for the CT-type spot welded lap joints.

  • For this study, in order to reduce a measuring error. author used a portable radio mise measuring and processing equipment especially designed. The time & frequency characteristics of HF band radio noise fran the sample site in Yeungnam region had been accomplished and statistical analysis carried out at the site. The results had been compared with the distribution chart of an atmospheric noise :indicated in the CCIR Report 322 issue. It showed that type of a measured noise distribution was similiar to that of the report but the man-made noise had a remarkable effect on the characteristic curves of HF band radio noise about the site.

  • The gradient of the residual stress distribution by the heat treatment temperature in the commercial single mode fiber was investigated. The heat treatment of the optical fiber was carried out at 700${\circ}$C, 1100${\circ}$C, and 1200${\circ}$C for 1 hour by using the halogen lamp and the residual stress measurement of the optical fiber was accomplished by using the inverse linear polarizing method. Mechanical residual stress was relaxed and thermal residual stress was invested by the heat treatment.

  • Recently, nanoporous low-k materials using porogen (pore generating material) template method have gained much attraction due to the feasible advantage of dielectric constant decrease with the increase of porogen content, which is burning out and making air void by thermal curing. In nanoporous thin films, further, control of pore size and its distribution is very important to retain suitable thermal, mechanical and electrical properties. In this study, nanoporous low-k films were prepared with MTMS-BTMSE copolymer and porogen. The effect of interaction of copolymer matrix and porogen on pore size and distribution was comparatively to investigate with molecular structure and end functional group. The characterization of nanoporous thin film prepared was also performed using various techniques including NMR, GPC, Ellipsometer, FE-SEM, TGA, and FT-IR.

  • As there expands the usage of Al-Cu connections to interface aluminum and copper in power distribution systems, efforts to mitigate the mechanical, electrical or electro-chemical degradation are widely spreading. The explosive bending technology, in particular, has been thought as a countermeasure for the degradation. In this paper, electrochemical analysis and optical microscopic observation are carried out in order to compare the corrosion resistivities of the commercial compression type bimetallic sleeve and the explosion type bimetallic sleeve. The results show that the explosive bonding technology can prevent the interfacial corrosion caused by the formation of crevices and pits as well as from galvanic potential difference.

  • The design of the valve plate is most important to increase efficiency in the oil hydraulic axial piston pump. A theoretical study was carried out to clarify the pressure characteristics at the land of the valve plate in the oil hydraulic axial piston pump. Dynamic pressure acts on the land of the valve plate was computed numerically with discharge pressure, rotational speed and swash plate angle. Pressure distribution between the valve plate and the cylinder block also was obtained with dynamic pressure. The results are applicable to improve the design technique of the valve plate in the oil hydraulic axial piston pump.

  • This paper describes the various characteristics of voltage sags which can affect the functions of three-phase induction motors that are mostly used in the power distribution systems. These assorted characteristics include motor speed losses, voltage recovery, motor reacceleration, and transient characteristics. An experimental study on the induction motor behaviors was also carried out to confirm these impacts. In addition, sequential voltage sags with short durations were considered and investigated. The results show that the occurrence of the second voltage sag after the first one may affects the induction motor adversely.

  • This paper treats a retrial queue with phase type retrial times and a threshold type-policy, where each server is subject to breakdowns and repairs. Upon a server failure, the customer whose service gets interrupted will be handed over to another available server, if any; otherwise, the customer may opt to join the retrial orbit or depart from the system according to a Bernoulli trial. We analyze such a multi-server retrial queue using the recently introduced threshold-based retrial times for orbiting customers. Applying the matrix-analytic method, we carry out the steady-state analysis and report a few illustrative numerical examples.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine what expectations and mediating factors are needed as variables necessary for the intention to use logistics hollowing out, and at the same time, what factors strengthen medical SCM competitiveness. In order to develop competitive competency variables for medical institutions that affect the intention to use logistics cavitation, we would like to examine the key success factors applying AHP model analysis. Design/methodology/approach For AMOS analysis, we conducted an online survey of four universities and analyzed 212 samples. The analysis method used SPSS, and AMOS. We proposed several factors categorized as reliability, SCM advance, and scalability. Findings The results showed that all proposed variables (competitive competencies for HSCM, expected performance) had a significant impact on intention of physical distribution cooperation. According to the measurement methods proposed in this study, key success factors for strengthening the capacity of HSCM can increase the need for physical distribution cooperation through expected performance.

  • An UBET(Upper Bound Elemental Technique) program has been developed to analyze forging load, die-cavity filling and effective strain distribution for flashless forging. To analyze the process easily, it is suggested that the deformation is divided into two different parts. Those are axisymmetric part in corner and plane-strain part in lateral. The total power consumption is minimized through combination of two deformation parts by building block method, from which the upper-bound forging load, the flow pattern, the grid pattern, the veocity distribution and the effective strain are determined. To show the merit of flashless forging, the result of flashless and flash forging processes are compared through theory and experiment. Experiments have been carried out with plasticine billets at room temperature. The theoretical predictions of the forging load and the flow pattern are in good agreement with the experimental results.
