As a result of study on the oysters collected from 8 localities of Korean coastal area, The following five species were found to be new to the Korean fauna: Parahyotissa chemnitzi ( Hanley, 1786) and P. inaequivalvis (Sowerby, 1971) belong to the Pycnodonteidae; Dendostrea folium (Linnaeus, 1758), Ostrea futamiensis Seki, 1929, and Saccostrea mordax (Gould, 1850) belong to the Ostreidae.
