  • In this paper, we propose the new optical security technique using two phase holograms based on interferometer. The encoded random phase image does not have any information on the original image. Without Hewing the key mask, one cannot decode the encrypted image and regenerate the original image. And the use of two phase only images in the proposed security system leads to maximum optical efficiency (100% in theory). Also they cannot be detected by an intensity detector such as a CCD camera. Computer simulations and optical experiments show performance of the proposed methods.

  • This paper presents an overlapping pattern substitution (PS) method. The original overlapping PS method as a reversible data hiding scheme works well with only four pattern pairs among fifteen possible such pairs. This paper generalizes the original PS method so that it will work well with an optimal pair from among the fifteen possible pattern pairs. To implement such an overlapping PS method, changeable and embeddable patterns are first defined. A class map is virtually constructed to identify the changeable and embeddable pairs. The run-lengths between consecutive least probable patterns are recorded. Experiments show that an implementation of our overlapping PS method works well with any possible type of pairs. Comparison results show that the proposed method achieves more embedding capacity, a higher PSNR value, and less human visual distortion for a given embedding payload.

  • Due to resource constraints, most of Android application developers need to address potential performance problems during application development and maintenance. The coding styles and patterns of Android programming could often affect the execution time and energy efficiency which are utilized by the Android applications. Thus, it is necessary for application developers to apply performance-enhancing programming practices for mobile application development. This paper introduces performance-enhancing best practices for Android programming, and further, it evaluates the impact of these practices on the CPU time of the application. The original version with the performance-worsening code has been refactored to become an efficient version without changing its functionality. To demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach, each coding pattern was evaluated by measuring the CPU time under the controlled runtime environment. Furthermore, the Android applications were evaluated and compared via the CPU time of the original version, with that of the refactored version. These experimental results indicate that, by -using the proposed programming practices, the Android developer can develop performance-efficient mobile applications.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the three kinds of recarved books that were Wongak-Techam-Ryakbon, Kumkang-Banyakyung-Uiki, Sung-Yusikron-Sulki. the original edition of these recarved books were published by UiChon in Heungwang Temple with the Continued Edition of Tripitaka in the King Sukjong of the Koryo Dynasty. The continued edition was the collections of various and interpretations of Tripitaka, gathered from Song, Japan and Liao. This continued edition is not a imitation of any others but it is the original product of Koryo. The blocks were carved from the carefully proofread script of Koryo's best calligrapher. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. The original edition of the Wongak-Yecham-Ryakbon was published at the third year of Suchang in Heungwang Temple. The names of two calligraphers and three proofreaders are recorded in the last part of the book. 2. The original edition of the Kumkang-Banyakyung-Uiki was also published at the fourth year of Suchang in Heungwang Temple. The publication data are recorded in the last part of the book that the calligrapher was ODaegong and the three proofreaders were Gakji, Jahyun and Dukyeon. 3. The Sung-Yusikron-Sulki is different from other recarved editions in physical format such as number of lines and letters in one printing page. The original edition of this book was published at Kwangkyowon in Kumsan Temple by Hyaedukwangsa. 4. The contents of these recarved editions are recently discovered.

  • Culture Technology is the basic technology which produces cultural contents in a narrow sense. All nations do their best in order to create new contents which can form international and cultural sympathy. If a variety of contents are created by applying Korean proper cultural heritages, they will be creative and competitive internationally. Therefore, technology of original cultural restoration is an essential and crucial skill. In this paper, 'gilt bronze dragon-phoenix ring-pommeled sword', a cultural heritage of baekje age, will be restored to the original form digitally on the basis of three-dimensional shape-information processing technology and the scientifically analyzed data. First of all, data from three-dimensional scanning is revised using stuffing and smoothing methods after sampling, extracting characteristics, and align. Then, they are modeled in a curved surface with NURBS and B-Spline. Secondly, textures are edited by estimating the color of components and the quality of materials, and then they are mapped. Original form model which was made was revised and corrected by specialists' examinations. The digitally revised ring-pommeled sword was combined with information technology, and it can be used to revise damaged cultural heritages by constructing formal database of ring-pommeled sword with regard to age, area and type. It can be also used as educational contents in archaeology or preservation science and cultural contents such as movies, broadcasts, games, animations and so on.

  • The amounts of ascorbic acid in chloroplasts treated with light and light+paraquat (PQ) were reduced by 81 and 82% of initial level, respectively at 24 hr at incubation. And those treated with dark and dark+PQ were decreased by W and 55% of the original level, respectively. Malondialdehyde (MDA) contents at 24 hr of dark and dark+PQ treatment were increased by 6 and 31% of the initial level, respectively. When chloroplasts were treated with light and light+PQ, MDA contents after 24 hr were increased by 88 and 146% of the initial level, respectively. SOD activities treated with light and light+PQ were increased by 10 and 20% of the initial level, respectively for 3 hr and thereafter reduced by 46 and 49% of the original level, respectively at 24 hr. However, the SOD activities treated with dark and dark+PQ were decreased by 37 and 30% of the initial level, respectively. It is considered that PQ triggers the oxidation of ascorbic acid, the induction of lipid peroxidation and the inactivation of SOD under light so that PQ has inhibitors effect on the pathway of plant metabolism. Key word: ascorbic acid, malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase, paraquat, lipid peroxidation.

  • The roles and needs of contents are increasing moving toward sensitivities and culture in terms of key values in the 21st century. The cartoon is evaluated in invaluable as the original contents. Moreover, the size of these industries and employees are extending. Regardless of the quantitative expansion, however, it is real situation that is delaying in the disciplinary development and that is scare in partnership with industries. It is needs to develop the textbook and its' systemizing, standardization of cartoon language, and cartoon dictionary development. Using the cartoon language widely, it requires universality, simultaneously it needs a times and exact definition in advance. The study and standardization work of cartoon terms in base endure the industry development and disciplinary research which enhance the efficiency between the two sectors.

  • This study proposes web-based authoring system for the lecturers who published textbooks by inserting external open resource. When lecturer publishes textbooks, the system makes it easier to utilize external resources by providing an open resource pool that the lecturer can search not only his own resources but external resources. In addition, we designed an open resource pool based on Original Contents Tracing Model to check whether the scrapped resource is changed or not in the future. Open Resource Pool allows inserting text, images and videos by searching multimedia, and stores metadata for the follow-up management. We made the system to determine the change of the resource using the metadata stored in the tracking system. Through this research, we confirmed that it is possible to publish textbooks by utilizing a variety of open resources on the web and revise the book by tracing the scrapped resources.
