Objectives: This paper is to report a spontaneous pregnancy with low AMH level and thin endometrium infertility after Korean medical treatments.Methods: A 38-year old patient who had low AMH level, thin endometrium, sleep disturbance and anxiety happened after anorectal cancer surgery was treated by korean medicine such as herb medications per day for 6 months. And we observed the effects of treatments by improvement of symptoms checking endometrium ultrasonography.Results: After treatments, Symptoms of anxiety and sleep disturbance were improved. The number of ovarian follicle and endometrium thickness were upgraded during artificial pregnancy trials. Finally the patient was a spontaneous pregnancy after failures of one intrauterine insemination and one in vitro fertilization trial.Conclusions: This case shows that the korean medicine has effective option for a patient with low AMH level and thin endometrium infertility. Further ultrasonography would be valid measurements to check the effectiveness of oriental treatments as well as symptoms.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of a 12-month ki-gong exercise program on obesity, physical flexibility, blood pressure and blood sugar in rural populations. Method: A 12-month ki-gong exercise session was conducted from September 2008 until August 2009 with 61 village attendees at a Healthcare Clinic, as part of an Oriental herb program at the health center. Data was collected three times; before the program initiation, at six months and at the end of the program. A one-group repeated measures ANOVA test was conducted for statistical validation using SPSS 12.0. Results: Participants showed a decrease in obesity (F=10.166, p=0.02), body weight (F=10.861, p=0.002) and body fat (F=36.311, p=0.000). They also showed an increase in physical flexibility(F=24.627, p=0.000), while systolic blood pressure and (F=8.550, p=0.005) blood sugar (F=5.464, p=0.023) decreased. Conclusion: The results of this study indicates that ki-gong exercise exhibits beneficial effects in decreasing obesity, blood pressure and blood sugar and enhancing physical flexibility.

Pubescent Angelica is generally used in musculoskeletal diseases of lower extremity, itching, external contraction (外感) and furuncle, with the effect of dispelling wind, draining dampness, dispersing the external (解表) and stopping pain. The disease parts of Treasured Mirror of Eastern Medicine (東醫寶鑑) contain 121 examples of the usage of Pubescent Angelica. Cases of musculoskeletal diseases and itching are mainly in the External Bodily Elements section (外形篇), and those of external contraction and furuncle are mainly in the Miscellaneous Disorder section (雜病篇). Internal Bodily Elements section (內景篇) has 10 prescriptions that involve Pubescent Angelica, in Dreams (2), Voice (1), Uterus (4), Parasites (1), and Feces (2) chapters. Their specific symptoms are insomnia and sleep paralysis (Dreams), loss of voice due to external contraction (Voice), uterine hemorrhage (Uterus), phthisis (Parasites), and constipation and diarrhea (Feces). It is not easy for students beginning their clinical training to link the effects of Pubescent Angelica and its actual usage, especially in the area of internal medicine. By Analyzing the whole cases of Pubescent Angelica in the Treasured Mirror, we found various usages out of reach of basic knowledge of the herb. Such method can be utilized not only in developing herbal knowledge-based products, but also in improving Korean medicine education, by enhancing the occupational competency bridging basic and clinical knowledge.

Objectives : This study was performed to report two cases of improved hemifacial spasm by herbal remedy and moxa-treatment. Methods : This study calendered the improvements of symptoms of two patients with hemifacial spasm who visited the author's clinic. Ukgansangamibang(抑肝散加味方) and moxa-treatment on chung-wan(CV12) were prescribed to the patients concerned due to their antipathy against acupuncture treatment. Results : Significant improvements were observered from both patients not only for hemifacial spasm but neuropsychosis-related symptoms Conclusion : The study shows remarkable results of the efficacy of herb remedy and moxa-treatment, for the treatment of hemifacial spasm , however the cases investigated in this study were only two(2). Therefore, more studies should be followed to support the efficacy of Oriental Medicine for the treatment of hemifacial spasm.

Objectives: This experimental study has been done to compare the Os Draconis composition before and after using processing method. Os Draconis has a quality for calming the liver meridian function and relaxation the mind. Methods: I studied the Os Draconis and processed Os Draconis by vinegar to compare the compositions and its' character. Results: Os Draconis is not a dinosaur's bone fossil but a mammal's bone fossil which has a Calcite mineral, an Apatite mineral, $SiO_2\;Al_2$ O, etc. Os Draconis contains a main ingredients CaO>50.00%. Processed Os Draconis which is heated and soaked in vinegar changes to weak condition Conclusion: Os Draconis is supposed to be a mammal's bone fossil. Some Os Draconis has a radioactive substance like a U, Th so we pay heed to deal with it in a medical clinic.

Objectives : This study aims to evaluate the effects of natural herb mixutre (NHM) on atopic dermatitis and skin regeneration using in vivo test. Methods : NHM was prepared with DW. 25% of NHM was applied to skin lesion, where atopic dermatitis was induced by DNCB in NC/Nga mice. The levels of cytokines (IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-13, TNF-a, and $IFN-{\gamma}$), and IgE in serum were measured by Luminex. Immune cells (WBC, eosinophil, lymphocyte, and monocyte) in blood were counted by coulter counter. The gross investigation of atopic dermatitis index score test were performed during the NHM treatment period. Also, the histopathological change of dorsal skin was observed by H&E and M&T staining. Results : NHM showed the levels of IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-13, IgE, WBC, eosinophil, lymphocyte, and monocyte in serum or blood were significantly decreased. On the contrary, the productions of FGF, and VEGF were increased in the serum. Also, atopic dermatitis index score in NHM-treated mice were observed in the similar levels to those of normal group. Histological examination demonstrated that NHM suppressed immune cell infiltration and thickening of epidermis, meanwhile the extraction induced collagen production in the dorsal skin. Conclusion : This study demonstrated that NHM is appeared to be effective on atopic dermatitis and skin regeneration efficacy based on the observations with hematologic, gross, and histologic examinations. Therefore, we suggest that NHM could be effectively used as an external therapeutics against atopic dermatitis and a consequence skin damage.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to provide evidence of treatment of growth disorder Methods We have reviewed clinical studies of growth disorder in children and adolescent through 6 databases until February, 2020. The searching keywords were "short stature OR dwarfism OR growth disorder" AND "acupuncture OR electric acupuncture OR electroacupuncture OR moxibustion OR herb medicine OR cupping OR Korean medicine OR oriental medicine OR chuna OR pharmacopuncture OR qigong OR traditional medicine OR traditional Korean medicine OR Korean medicine". There was no limit to time and language. Results As a result of the initial search, a total of 270 papers from six domestic databases were found. Among these papers, 156 papers were selected after excluding duplicated papers, and 109 of them were further excluded after checking the title and the abstract. Additionally, 28 papers were excluded by reviewing the full text. The author, year, number of patients, treatment, evaluation tools, and results of a total of 19 papers were included in this study and were summarized. 90.5% of the studies have shown that herbal remedies have improved childhood growth. Conclusions Random control studies and large-scale observational studies are needed in future to show high-quality evidence for the treatment of Korean medicine in pediatric growth.

Objective & Methods : In the point of several medical books included 'Internal Classic' and Hyungsang medicine, the writer studied about meridian theory and it's disorders, after adapting to acupuncture and herb medicine. Results : 1. Dr. Jisan explained concretely physiological and pathological meridian appearances with using metaphor about phenomenons of nature and human living. 2. Shapes corresponding to meridian are considered as Yukkyunghyung formed by more or less of vigor and blood, and by tendency of up and down in eyes and nose, and also contained diseases of viscera and characters. 3. The colors connected with meridian are changed according to conditions, and meridian is seen through colors. And then colors is the properties of vital energy and symbol of spirit, that is expressed as aspect of essence, vigor, spirit and blood, as the original color of five viscera, as the colors of four seasons and as the colors of diseases. So the changes of feelings are appeared to meridian flow. 4. The method of examining pulse for meridian disorders is applied to Jisan diagram. Jisan diagram is devised from mutual communication of viscera and connection with inside and outside. It is conjugated widely in clinical examination to be distinguished into Dam-Bangkwang, into diseased part of viscera and into meridian. Also it is conjugated recuperation of diseases. 5. The meridian diseases are appeared all the distributed parts of meridian, especially skin, hair, eyebrow, and the ends of the extremities which are sensitive to stimulus. The causes are the disharmony between vital energy and blood and the discordance of six atmospheric variation. The symptoms are skinny aches, itching and eruption, etc. Conclusions : The acupuncture of Hyungsang medicine which utilizes classification of shapes, examining pulse according to Jisan diagram and demonstration of symptoms, is very effective and required systematical study from now on.

Objectives : In Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, herbal medicinal preparations are defined as medicines made by Korean medicine principles. But in Act, Korean medicine principles are vague. Thus, there is a request to explain what the Korean medicine principles are. The aim of this study is to suggest implications of Korean medicine principles in definition of herbal medicinal preparations. Methods : With regard for definition of Korean medicine principles, we referred to the domestic and foreign regulations and literature about the history of herbal medicinal preparations. As a result, the meaning of Korean medicine principles was historically examined from various angles. Results : Through this study, we studied the Korean medicine principles from the past medical history. Due to the broad definition of Korean medicinal principles, we tried to extract general ideas of medicine principles first. We also found that we had scientific formulations based on korean medicine principles which could be used in modern society. In the end, we found that numerous medicine principles which include ‘Four qi and five flavors theory’, ‘Processing of medicinals’, ‘Yin and yang theory’, ‘Five phases theory’, ‘Meridian entry of viscera and bowels theory’, ‘Herb Couplet Interaction theory’, ‘Sovereign, minister, assistant and courier theory’, etc. Conclusions : Innumerable principles used from the past existed. These principles were broad and could be used as modern scientific principles. Based on these facts, we illustrated details of Korean medicine principles, hope this principles be widely shared and Korean herbal medicinal preparations be further developed.

Objectives This study has been conducted to verify frequently used herbs and herbal formulas to treat obesity in Korea during 2015 to 2019. Methods Publications related to treatment of obesity using herbal medicines from 2015 to 2019 were retrieved from 12 databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, China National Knowledge Infrastructure [CNKI], Koreanstudies Information Service System [KISS], National Digital Science Library [NDSL], Research Information Sharing Service [RISS], DBPIA, KMBASE, KoreaMed, KoreanTK, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System [OASIS]). Extracted articles were analyzed in terms of publication year, journal, and type of herbs. Results A total of 136 studies have been included in this study. 33 herbal formulaes and 129 herbs have been analyzed. Taeyeumjowui-tang was the most frequently studied herbal formulae and Ephedrae Herba was the most frequently studied herb. Ginseng Radix was the most frequently studied single herb in isolation from herbal formulae. Conclusions These results suggest that various herbs and herbal formulae can be used to treat obesity. Since this study includes every type of study, additional studies based on clinic are thought to be necessary.
