  • The Blood paralysis(血痺) is infected by a poisonous factor of wind and it disturbs the circulation of meridian. This disease is similar phenomenon to the Blutsaure(血柱) and belongs to the category like the Radial nerve paralysis, the Ulna nerve paralysis and the unstability syndrome of the lower limbs. This dissertation will inquire into symptoms, the way of treatment and the prescriptions of this disease based on the Synopsis of Golden Chamber. The Weakness and fatigue(虛勞) is occurred by several causes. This disease means all the functions of body weakened. This dissertation will inquire into pulse conditions according to the type of the Weakness and fatigue(虛勞), symptoms, the way of treatment and the prescriptions of this disease based on the Synopsis of Golden Chamber.

A Documentational Study of Doinqigong in The Oriental Medicine Classics (고전의서(古典醫書)에 나타난 도인기공(導引氣功) 방법(方法)에 대한 연구(硏究))

  • Objectives : Because of emphasizing a side of preventive medicine in the oriental medicine, an interest in Doinqigong(導引氣功: Physical and breathing exercise) has been elated recently. But, it has a limited sphere of application in the present south korea. Therefore we would like to bring out its sphere of application and detailed method in the oriental medicine classics. Method : We have researched theories and methods of Doinqigong in the Junghwaeujeon(中華醫典: Oriental medicine classic collections) DB according to below the procedure. (1) Making a related words list: We have used existing study of Doinqigong to make a list. It has been connected with Doinqigong. It includes not only technical terms, but also general terms. (2) Searching sentences: We have searched sentence that contain terms related with Doinqigong in the Junghwaeujeon DB. (3) Analysis of related sentences: We have searched and classified sentence by theory and method. Result : Results & Conclusion : (1) The total number of oriental medicine classics connected with Doinqigong is twelve. (2) The methods of Doinqigong have classified into three large groups: They are the Doinqigong for preservationing of good health, the Doinqigong for curing disease and the Doinqigong for internal organs and channels. (3) The number of Doinqigong for preservationing of good health in the seven oriental medicine classics is about ten. For example, the Okeumhi(五禽戱: Five animal's dance), the Paldangeum(八段錦: Eight motions of qigong) and so on. The number of oriental medicine classics connected with Doinqigong for curing disease is seven. They contain internal diseases, surgical diseases, diseases of five sensory organs and various diseases in the order of their frequency. The Doinqigong for internal organs and channels is only the Yookjageul(六字訣: Six sound's treatment).

  • "Byunjeung-okham(辨證玉函)" is composed of four volumes, Eumjeung-yangjeungbyun(陰症陽症辨, Vol.1), Heojeungsiljeungbyeon(虛症實症辨, Vol.2), Sangjeunghajeungbyun(上症下症辨, Vol.3) and Jinjeunggajeungbyun(眞症假症辨, Vol.4) (卷之一 "陰症陽症辨", 卷之二 "虛症實症辨", 卷之三 "上症下症辨", 卷之四 "眞症假症辨"). It is based on the 74 types of disease symptoms, and compared to "Byunjeungrok(辨證錄)", it is rather brief and concise. Thus, its name, "Byunjeung-okham". This study researched vol.2, "Heojeungsiljeungbyun(虛症實症辨)", which is organized according to the deficiency and excess pattern of 20 disease patterns, such as cough. The disease pattern system mentioned in this book is unique compared with other disease pattern systems. The role of the kidney is especially emphasized, and the application of the Five-phase[五行] theory is very original. Consequently, it contributed greatly in the process of broadening the disease pattern system of Traditional Korean Medicine.

  • External treatments have various curative effects. So it had been used to cure various patients. Especially, Zhao-Xue-Min(趙學敏) had thought that there are useful treatments of wander doctors. So, the "Chuan-Ya(串雅)" had been written by Zhao-Xue-min in 1759. The book had included treatments of wander doctors. it had included various external treatments. Therefore we would like to bring out it's external treatments in the part of ophthalmic, otolaryngologic and surgical diseases. We have researched external treatments of "Chuan-Ya", and then we have arrived at following conclusions. "Chuan-Ya" has 56 sentences that have related to external treatments in the part of ophthalmic, otolaryngologic and surgical diseases. And then, the treatments were, for the most of the part, bathing therapy, application therapy.

  • Basic summary of the medical administration : First of all Ming dynasty was at its last stage of dynastic era that the politics reached absolute autocracy. The influence of centralized power lead to systematical medical administration management system that was generally formed around Tai Yi Yuan(太醫院). Criticizing treatments via shamanism with supernatural powers and advent of strengthening medical concepts were steps toward a new phase. Medical education in regional areas showed drastic development and preventative medicine on epidemics as well as relief work succeeded to a certain amount. Overall Ming(明) dynasty has somewhat of a growth in some areas keeping the basics of Tang(唐) Song(宋) and Yuan(元)'s medical administration, however basically, unique contribution was not shown much. But on the other hand, measures such as common medical system, reserving incompetent doctors, positioning medical officers by the amount of contributions, paying salary with medicine instead of currency brought losses on medical development.

  • Yinqiao San is the medicine for the outer part disease of the human body. In ${\ulcorner}$Wenbingtiobian${\lrcorner}$, this medicine is the most useful when it is used within short time after the starting boiling it. In this study, the volatile ingredients of the Yinqiao San were observed by GC and compared with each other in time scale. Most of the ingredients were observed about 5 min after the starting boiling it, after10 min., the GC peaks were smaller and smaller, and after 2 hours and 30 min. the GC peaks were almost gone. It is confirmed that was written about the Yinqiao San in ${\ulcorner}$Wenbingtiobian${\lrcorner}$.

  • We would like to understand we should follow the rules of nature by having 'bupaeumyang(法於陰陽) to the "sanggocheonjinron "上古天眞論" and the healthy living shall be made based on the balance of yin and yang, and in harmony with the nature mentioned in Sagijoshindaeron "四氣調神大論" so it is considered that this is the Yangsaeng(養生) usually mentioned in Oriental medicine. Therefore, we would like to present the exercise methods according to the season and would like to propose two most basic Yangsaeng methods of the gymnastics Yangsaeng method(體操養生方法) and the massage Yangsaeng method(按摩養生方法) stimulating Musculoskeletal(筋骨格) and acupoints (血位) directly by the caregivers among the various infants exercise in order to help their physical growth and development and to promote the interaction between parents and children.

And then we have arrived at following conclusions. 238 species herbs have been used externalpreparation. comparatively often used a herbal medicines are Argyi Wormwood Leaf(艾), Realgar(雄黃), Croton Seed(巴豆), Musk(麝香), Cochinchina Momordica Seed(木鱉仁), Glycyrrhiza uralensis(甘草) and Chuanxiong Rhizome(川芎).

  • Traditionally, Korean Medicine put emphasis on the treatment and health-preserve method that corresponds with circulation of nature. And acupuncture is no exception to this rule. In "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)", some chapters present method that is changed according to the seasons. Among the chapters, there are some difference, but we can find a general theory. In spring, Yanggi(陽氣) is coming out but not strong and cannot diffuse. so the Yanggi(陽氣) hang up the middle of outer layer. Therefore, we can take some acupoints around the muscle interspace[分腠] or tiny branches of Meridian[孫絡]. In summer, Yanggi(陽氣) flourish and boil all around of the outer layer. So, we can take some acupunctural points from skin to the yang-meridian. In both fall and winter, five su point[五輸穴] make up almost of point. in fall, yanggi begin convergence. we can remove the Eum-pathogen[陰邪] and help the normal convergence by using Stream point[腧穴], River point[經穴] and Sea point[合穴]. In winter, Eum surround so solidly that the neo Yanggi(陽氣) cannot come out. So, we can break the yin by using Well point[井穴] and make be strong by Spring point[滎穴]. If we Study the method that correspond with the seasonal circulation more, we will be able to treat diseases more minutely.

  • "Dong-uisusebowon("東醫壽世保元")", written by Ijema(李濟馬), is about the treatment and prevention of diseases according to the four constitutions, Soeum, Soyang, Taeeum and Taeyang. He presents a precise pathogenic mechanism along with specific treatment methods of the Ulgwang(鬱狂) Syndrome which are Seungbo(升補) and Ikgiseung-yang[益氣而升陽] in comparing Mang-yang(亡陽) and Ulgwang Syndromes. However, in the case of the Mang-yang Syndrome, he merely presents formulas without mentioning details of the treatment methods. In this study, the formulas of the Mang-yang Syndrome and Ulgwang Syndrome were thoroughly compared and analyzed, leading to the conclusion that the concept of the Ikgi(益氣) method matches that of the Bojung-ikgitang(補中益氣湯) of Idongwon(李東垣), consisted of ingredients such as Ginseng, Radix Astragali, Radix Angelicae Gigantis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae etc,, and the concept of Seung-yang matches that of Gyejitang(桂枝湯). Furthermore, we have examined the addition of Radix Aconti Lateralis Preparata[附子] to the Ikgiseung-yang[益氣而升陽] method to be aimed at restoring the Yanggi(陽氣). Lastly, through comparison of formulas according to the progress of the Mang-yang Syndrome and Ulgwang Syndrome, we have presented a more detailed explanation of the concept of each treatment methods: the Mang-yang Syndrome focuses more on Seung-yang(升陽), Ulgwang leans more towards Ikgi(益氣).
