Purpose : In order to estimate clinical effects of Oriental Medicine Treatment with acupotomy therapy of Tarsal tunnel Syndrome Methods : From 5th November, 2008 to 8th November, 2008, 1 male patient diagnosed as Tarsal tunnel syndrome(clinical diagnosed) was treated with general oriental medicine therapy (acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, physical therapy, herbal medication) and acupotomy. Results : The patient's Rt foot paresthesia, pain were remarkably improved. Conclusions : This study demonstrates that oriental medical treatment with acuputomy therapy has notable effect in improving symptoms of tarsal tunnel syndrome. as though we had not wide experience in this treatment, more research is needed.

Purpose: Adenomyosis is the disease caused by ingrowth of lining tissue into the uterine muscle. Final treatment of the disease is hysterectomy but there is a tendency to avoid surgical treatment if possible. And medication often results in relapse and it does not cure completely. This paper introduces the potential of oriental medical treatment for adenomyosis through a case study. Methods: A 31-year-old female patient, suffered from pelvic pain and metrorrhagia, was diagnosed with adenomyosis and uterine myoma. She was put on oriental medical treatment in the ○○ Oriental Hospital for almost three months. We applied herb-medication, acupuncture and moxibustion. Results: Overall condition including the symptoms was relieved after oriental medical treatment Conclusion: Oriental medical treatment alleviates chronic pelvic pain and has an effect against adenomyosis.

Objectives: The propose of this study is to find out the clinical application of conservative treatment to 3 patients who has Disc Extrusion on L-spine MRI Methods: We examined 3 patients with Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation (HIVD of L-spine) with Disc Extrusion who showed changes on MRI images before/after the treatment among HIVD of L-spine patients who visited Jaseng Hospital of Oriental Medicine. Results: In this study, the first MRI examination of HIVD of L-spine patients was performed at the first visit and re-examination of MRI was done after the treatment. In each case, the size of the extruded disc was considerably reduced in MRI image. Low back and leg pain was also reduced significantly after conervative oriental medical treatment. Conclusions: Conservative oriental medical treatment can be effective for improving symptoms of HIVD, decreasing pain, also decreasing the volume of herniated disc.

Objective : We report the effects of Korean medical treatment for Verruca Plana. Methods : We used herbal treatment, acupuncture, herbal acupuncture. To evaluate the results of this treatment, we observed the patient's condition and photographed. Results : After Korean medical treatment, the patient's warts remarkably disappeared and there was no recurrence. Conclusion : We suggest that Verruca Plana can be treated by Korean medical treatment effectively. We expect these study results help provide useful evidence of Korean medicine as an effective treatment for Verruca Plana.

Objectives : The Purposes of this study were to investigate payment system for oriental medical treatment as supplier of medical services, and to estimate reasonable levels of medical fee. Methods : This study made these following results by reviewing the answers which were given by 172 Korea traditional doctors from March 1 to April 15, 2006. Results : General satisfaction of payment system for oriental health insurance was $2.17{\pm}1.01$ $(mean{\pm}SD)$ on a 1-7 scale (median 4) as very low level. Reasonable medical fees which were answered by 172 Korea traditional doctor are higher than present fees, thus Korea traditional doctors think that present fees should be increased. And according to the survey, current insurance fees have a problem of disparity between each treatment fee. Conclusions : According to results of this study, current fees of oriental medical treatment are not rational. And this problem leads to distortion of medical treatment. Additional studies in thls field are needed.

Conversion disorder lacks temperamental grounds and is a type of somatoform disorder that includes alteration or loss of physical functions implicated in physical deficit suggestive psychological conflict. There is high incidence of return of conversion disorder and difficulty in producing exact approaches of cure and apparent effects of remedy with symptomatic treatment alone because of its complex clinical symptoms. The approach of Oriental Medicine in treatment of conversion disorder is to apprehend relative symptoms from the syndrome combined with several annexational symptoms centering around sequential symptoms. Thereupon, author made a Ganyanghwapung comprehensive diagnosis was conducted using Oriental Medicine measures by differential diagnostic methods in psychosomatic patients whose cases are diagnosed as conversion disorder. Then, Cheonmagudeungeum Gagambang was prescribed for them and it brought on satisfactory effects from the first or second treatment. There have been many cases reporting the application of Oriental Medicine treatment to conversion disorder to date and outcomes have also been favorable. Results of this study likewise suggest that this Oriental Medicine treatment for conversion disorder is effective.

Delirium is an acute syndrome of disorientaion caused by dysfunction of brain and has many various symptoms. The characteristic symptoms of delirium are conscious disturbance with disorientation, dysarthria and emotional disturbance. We experienced 84-year-old man who had Wi syndrome(痿證) as well as delirium during the treatment of pneumonia, and whose condition was improved through Oriental medical treatment. The patient was diagnosed as Yangmyeong Disease(陽明病) that was caused by heat in the stomach and stool in the colon, and was treated with Daeseungki-tang (Dachengqi-tang, 大承氣湯). We were able to improve the delirium caused by high fever infection through Oriental medical treatment.

Objectives : This study is designed in order to evaluate oriental medical treatment of deveation of the eye and mouth caused trauma. Methods : The authors observed patient by Yanagihara's unweighted grading system for operated acupuncture treatment, herbal medicine treatment and physiotherapy. Conclusion : 1. Deveation of the eye and mouth is caused by trauma ; intra cranial trauma, intra temporal bone trauma, extra, temporal bone trauma, etc. Cardinal symptom is palsy of Facial muscle, slobbering, articulation disorder, epiphora, ear pain, hyperacusis, laterality hypogeusia. 2. Deveation of the eye and mouth patient by Lt. temporal bone Fx. is seen evaluate of Yanagihara's total score ; from S to 35. 3. Deveation of the eye and mouth patient by facial nerve inhury is seen evaluate of Yanagihara's total score ; from 10 to 30. 4. Traumatic Deveation of the eye and mouth patient evaluate by oriental medical treatmend ; acupuncture treatment, herbal medicine treatment and physiotherapy. This is based on sil(賞) of stomach channel of foot yangming & larhe intestine channel of hand Yangming.

Objectives : This study is to investigate the clinical application of conservative treatment to a patient who has the paresthesia and migration on L-spine MRI. Methods : A male patient, 34 years old, who has paresthesia and migration on L-spine MRI was evaluated after conservative oriental medical and chuna treatment by Visual Analog Scale(VAS), Numeric Rating Scale(NRS), Straight Leg Rasing Test(SLRT), Sensation, MRI follow-up. Results : 1. Visual Analog Scale(VAS), Numeric Rating Scale(NRS), Straight Leg Rasing Test(SLRT), Sense was significantly improved after conservative oriental medical and chuna treatment. 2. Also it was observed that herniated disc was decreased by L-spine MRI follow-up. Conclusions : Conservative oriental medical and chuna treatment can be effective for decreasing pain and improving paresthesia, also decreasing the volume of herniated disc.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to reexamine current oriental medical treatment fees based on valuation of input resources which are the treating time, the treatment's difficulty, and the material cost. Methods : This study obtained the following results by reviewing the answers given by 172 oriental medical doctors from March 1 to April 15, 2006. To investigate material cost, we took inventory of treatment materials used by 2 oriental hospitals. Results : The current system does not reflect well enough the treating time and treatment's difficulty. Considering current oriental treatment fees, material costs are too much of doctors' fees. Especially, Wang-ssuk-dduem, which is another form of moxibustion treatment, was spent as much as 74.6% on materials cost. Conclusions : The findings suggest the current oriental treatment fees should be revised to reflect the actual input resources into oriental medical doctor activities and to avoid a distortion of physicians' behavior.
